You have an S hook Axe (heaviest out of the three), Hatchet (Typical Axe), or the Tomahawk Axe. Close to the end of the session they bring out a Firemen Axe that you can attempt to throw at the target and is easiest the hardest to maneuver. In addition to the Axe throwing, they have a fun baskettball arcade two person competition game that you all should be familiar from the days of your childhood arcade days and many other fun games such as shuffle board, Jenga, darts etc. This is perfect if you have a large party and are waiting your turn to throw as you can play a fun game while you wait. When I think of Axe throwing I am reminded of the beginning of the movie, "The Bodyguard" with Kevin Costner. There is a scene where someone is trying to recruit him to take on the bodyguard job and he is leisurely lobbing an axe at a wooden stake trying to land a shot. We had to sign a waiver of course in the event we chopped a limb off (we didn't). And then we were taken back to our lanes. For first time visitors, you can call ahead and make a reservation. I would recommend that if you're a larger group. You can also show up as an individual and throw some axes more casually... if axe throwing is something you can consider casual. You will need to make sure you have closed toed shoes! You're throwing a sharp metal object afterall. The staff at Splitting Edge does an awesome job walking newcomers (and those of us that are like me and are not new, but lack axe throwing skill) how to get comfortable throwing axes. These guys are seriously professionals, they can give you pointers to help you perfect the craft. I've noticed I've gotten a little bit better and learned that I'm better at throwing with one hand, as opposed to the over the head with both hands style. The price point is really fair for your overall experience. I recommend coming with friends and bringing food and drinks! It's BYOB but there are a few nearby spots (Bomba Taco, Sly Fox, Wegman's) you can pick up drinks if you forgot. They have an awesome back bar area that my family used to set up a food buffet. My most favorite parts of Splitting Edge though... it's pet friendly! And there are tons of games (giant jenga, connect four, chess) to keep you busy if it's not your turn to throw.

I personally hate that shit, if I am being a fool I would like the opportunity to hit the wall and learn for my self. We initially wanted to go to Arnold's Fun Center in Oaks, PA to race but they recently changed the hours and that is why we ended up at this location. Also, be careful if you pay in cash as I received the wrong change and they had to get the manager involved in how to break a $100 dollar bill.
