Splitting Edge in Malvern is a family favorite! Our first visit was during July 2020 and that…read moreexperience was so great that my sister and father ended up joining the Splitting Edge Axe Throwing League. For first time visitors, you can call ahead and make a reservation. I would recommend that if you're a larger group. You can also show up as an individual and throw some axes more casually... if axe throwing is something you can consider casual. You will need to make sure you have closed toed shoes! You're throwing a sharp metal object afterall. The staff at Splitting Edge does an awesome job walking newcomers (and those of us that are like me and are not new, but lack axe throwing skill) how to get comfortable throwing axes. These guys are seriously professionals, they can give you pointers to help you perfect the craft. I've noticed I've gotten a little bit better and learned that I'm better at throwing with one hand, as opposed to the over the head with both hands style. The price point is really fair for your overall experience. I recommend coming with friends and bringing food and drinks! It's BYOB but there are a few nearby spots (Bomba Taco, Sly Fox, Wegman's) you can pick up drinks if you forgot. They have an awesome back bar area that my family used to set up a food buffet. My most favorite parts of Splitting Edge though... it's pet friendly! And there are tons of games (giant jenga, connect four, chess) to keep you busy if it's not your turn to throw.

Matt was so welcoming, gave amazing instructions, cheered the kids on, and kept the vibe on point! This venue is so fun - they have different stations set up for groups and smaller parties, a private party room, and party games throughout. You can play Jenga, connect 4, and more in between throws - great for larger parties. Our group was all smiles throughout our entire experience. Matt made sure everyone was safe and comfortable but also gave us our space to build some fun family memories. I also really like that it was smaller than some of the other axe throwing venues in the area- it delt more personable and less corporate. Highly recommend checking them out for a fun-filled afternoon! Plus, there are several restaurants in the same parking lot for some post game grub!

This is not usually a place I would visit, but when looking up places to go on a special occasion,…read moreaxe throwing just stood out. We parked across the street in the gravel lot, signs have the buildings number (252) on them designating the spots. Building does have stairs, but they also have a small lift for handicap accessibility. Interior looks exactly like you would expect in a place like this, full of wood everywhere. Due to COVID restrictions, you have to order food, and they have a basic menu that includes things like hot pretzel braids. Our group sampled various Mead's and liked them, but they do offer Beer and Soda. Staff were extremely helpful and knowledgeable. The highlight of the trip and worth every dollar was the axe throwing. You purchase a ticket at the main register, walk over to the throwing area, and sign in. They give you clear instruction how to do it and you're throwing. The instructor was great and very personable. The throwing is very safe and our group loved it, even when we didn't always find the target. Absolutely would return here.

Axe throwing was such a great way to let off steam. The instructors were very knowledgeable and didn't hover or make us uncomfortable and they would offer tips as needed but just let us do our thing. I definitely recommend and will go back. They have a small off street parking area too.

Very fun experience. Three axes you get to handle and throw for either a one hour or two hour…read moresession depending on which duration you pick. You have an S hook Axe (heaviest out of the three), Hatchet (Typical Axe), or the Tomahawk Axe. Close to the end of the session they bring out a Firemen Axe that you can attempt to throw at the target and is easiest the hardest to maneuver. In addition to the Axe throwing, they have a fun baskettball arcade two person competition game that you all should be familiar from the days of your childhood arcade days and many other fun games such as shuffle board, Jenga, darts etc. This is perfect if you have a large party and are waiting your turn to throw as you can play a fun game while you wait. When I think of Axe throwing I am reminded of the beginning of the movie, "The Bodyguard" with Kevin Costner. There is a scene where someone is trying to recruit him to take on the bodyguard job and he is leisurely lobbing an axe at a wooden stake trying to land a shot. I can now see the allure of such a skillful and cathartic experience. As always people SYOY!!!

My wife took me here during a surprise birthday celebration she was doing for me. I never knew…read morethis place existed as it's tucked away in business complex and I don't even remember if there was much signage (it was raining pretty hard and night time). The first great part is when we got out and my wife opened the trunk to reveal a packed cooler of beer! Now, I should note that while you are allowed to bring alcohol, you can't bring hard liquor and you cannot be visibly intoxicated or they will not admit you (probably a smart thing). We had to sign a waiver of course in the event we chopped a limb off (we didn't). And then we were taken back to our lanes. It was a Saturday night and most of the lanes were full, we had two towards the back. One of the employees walked everyone through how we should throw and gave a couple of pointers before everyone took their time to give it a shot. They had great music, it's a relaxed atmosphere and everyone working there was great. We had a phenomenal time and will definitely be returning!
