The man. The myth. The COACH....Kenny

Uh, Nobody should have that much fun throwing sharp objects at a wooden wall, but here we are. This year our company Christmas party we wanted to do something over the top fun and this was EXACTLY what we wanted. Situated outside of Paoli Pike in a warehouse. There is a MASSIVE amount of space in this place. I was kind of surprised. They are a BYOB & BYOF. Delivery menus were throughout the front corridor. They had a huge clean ice machine and coolers for booze (you can bring your own if you like.) As for my night... I have to say Kenny is hands down a pile of C4 inside of cupcakes he was so sweet and full of explosive energy! This guy is really ACE#1 when it comes to pumping you up in throwing an ax. You think you can't do it, them WHAM!!!! I'm tossing the "jack hawk 9000™" like I'm Ted Bundy! This guy was too much fun and adorable to boot. The other instructors were kind enough to stop and help out my other coworkers after they had some trouble. I mean everybody went above and beyond to keep the night the momentum going. The staff at the front counter we warm and inviting on top of that. This is was a perfect group outing. We are already planning trips back . Pro tip *if you I think you don't need to stretch beforehand think again*

10/10 Amazing experience. Went into Tilted Axes in West Chester, PA and was seen with the best people. Love the ambiance of the place, super clean and well sanitized. Met up with Leo who happens to be the GM of the place and he taught us the guidelines of throwing axes. Not only was he very attentive to our needs but he also made the whole experience very fun for us. He came up with different games for us to play and we were able to have a good time. I have been to other hatchet throwing places were they just teach you how to throw and leaves you alone. Granted some people may like that, but to us it was worth knowing that there is more to just throwing an axe to a board. He assessed what we were doing wrong and how we should correct our form thus making each throw more accurate. It is definitely worth checking this place out! Highly recommend it. During this unprecedented time it may be difficult to be in a public setting but from what I've experienced they really keep up with the CDC guidelines making your whole experience safe but also very fun! Worth the trip from jersey to go to Tilted Axes. Will come back again!

Can two people walk in and expect to throw down ;)? (or do I have to make an appointment for two?)

Yes we do take walk-ins when available, but highly recommend that you call in advance to make sure.

Be the first to review this somewhat hidden gem of a music venue and brewery? don't mind if I do!…read more Over my past couple of years of listening to them, Foxy Shazam has evolved into being a band that I really needed to see live. So when I saw that they were playing this random Millersville venue not all that far away I was instantly intrigued, and then I was even more sold when I saw that the venue also brewed their own beer. I also loved that it was a non-Ticket Master venue that used Eventbrite to sell tickets without an insane amount of hidden fees. And when I checked it out it was a hidden gem of a pleasant surprise. Unless you go to Millersville University, the area that the venue is at is one that you might not frequent. But Phantom Power is one of those few other reasons to visit since it delivers a fine assortment of local flavor events and national touring acts. Regular events include things like gothic/industrial dance parties, comedy nights, a Kegs and Eggs weekend brunch event, or just chilling in their outdoor beer garden on good weather days. I would absolutely go to things like these if Millersville was even closer! But on the flip side Phantom Power has also been seeing a good surge of national acts coming through thanks to WXPN taking notice for shows and them just being a fun and reliable space which I'll get to. In addition to Foxy Shazam I've seen big local names like Hop Along and mewithoutyou, indie acts like Delta Spirit and Sondre Lerche, Industrial and Punk bands like Front 242 and Reverend Horton Heat, and WTF WoW shows like Tim Cappello from Lost Boys (I still believe! - https://youtu.be/LpuwcINDHnQ) on their current and past lineup. It kind of reminds me of pleasantly filled memory venues of yesteryear like the Trocadero, only with a better beer list! Once we made our way through the lot to the venue we realized how big it is. Outside of their brunch event, they don't have a menu of their own, but I love the food truck connections they have and really wish I could remember the name of the BBQ truck that had those glorious smoked wings! The on-site brewed beer was as much of a hidden gem as the music venue since we enjoyed IPAs, stouts, pilsners, ESBs, and some other good varieties. The one suggestion I have is that, with a music venue of its caliber that also has a good beer list, it would be useful for them to have more sheld space to leave cups on during a jam-packed show like the one we were at, Foxy Shazam is one of those good energy rock bands that I would have enjoyed without good sound or lighting. But the fact that they had both in spades definitely helped. Now that I know this hidden gem is a success I'm checking their Facebook and Eventbrite pages (they don't actually seem to have their own site outside of those) for eye-catching shows, and you should do the same!

The place was laid off nicely with two levels. The have a bar on both levels. Very small bar food menu. This is not a restaurant. Snack type hot food only. The entertainment tonight I was surprised. They were actually very good. And when I read what they had on their calendar they had some stuff that interest me. Yes this place is geared towards a younger demographic. At least compared to my age..I recommend you check out the web site. They have a lot to offer.I was there for about three hours. I prepaid for my ticket. . It end up being a very inexpensive night of entertainment.

We showed up early for our show so we could have a great spot, and of course we weren't going to give up our proximity to the stage just to be able to drink alcohol. This was a first for me, I've never heard of this rule at any venue I've ever been to. Obviously not a deal breaker, but we are the kind of people who only drink for a special occasion and we had been looking forward to this show for months, so that was a bummer. It was absolutely FREEZING when we walked inside, so if you're not going to be in the heart of the crowd or jumping around a lot, make sure you're prepared for that! The staff was nice, they have metal detectors upon entry and ticket scanning was quick/efficient.

This type of venue is my preferred type over larger venues. Loved it.

The bartender at the time was particularly very friendly and I could tell he gave off the same vibe to everyone. As I left this bar with a friend, one of the (assumedly) local patrons was telling us we should've purposely nudged a guy seated so that we could more easily leave the bar instead of slowly crossing over. That particular patron looked back at the first guy very annoyed. The first guy was probably already at least semi-drunk and just kept trying to go on with his "joke". Another thing that surprises me is that this bar is closed all day Sunday and that they open at 8 AM according to the Yelp page and stay open until 2 AM. Those are mad hours This coming Sunday, there was a big game with Eagles versus the 49ers. I've never heard of a bar open so early in the morning and not open on Sundays. Not open on Sunday because a lot of regular church-goers in the area, or the staff need a break and maybe they would want to go to church? Reminds me of Chik-Fil-A without the super late hours and instead of family friendly style food and drink and chicken icon, booze instead. There were no smokers when me and my friend were there. I was thankful for that. It looks like PA started to ban smoking in all bars in 2021. Personally, don't miss it! I already have a hard enough time breathing and sleeping without being around that stuff! No food at this establishment. Quality drinks on tap and reasonable prices. Nice staff. From a neighborhood bar, can you ask for anything more?
