I requested a physical workbook due to my eyesight and was told to be at the Duluth office to pick it up on Monday by 4:00 (they are not open on weekends) on the day of the class (1/12/26). I left work early and arrived by 4:00 only to find they were closed. I was told the office manager left early and I had to view the workbook electronically. That was just the first red flag. I realized early in the class that the instructor did not seem to like me by his responses to my answers to some of his questions. I was trying to show that I was present and participating, but he was condescending and he belittled/berated me if he disagreed with my responses. By the last day, he questioned in class if the children that I work with even like me (the classes are recorded). This was personally not a positive experience for me. I would not recommend. Finally, the communication appears to be primarily via text messages, and the beginning of the thread seems to be automated (at least over the weekend) since I asked questions that were never answered and the responses were generic. It asked if wanted to participate in another program, but when I asked what it was, I didn't receive an answer. If you text them with issues during the week, an actual person will respond, it just takes a while.

It was sketchy from lesson 1: During our first conversation, I expressed my desire to obtain my permit first, Mr. Gus proceeded to offer me the 2 hours of driving class + the trip to take my permit test at no extra charge. At the end of the session, he claimed to have amnesia and forgot that he made that promise. I paid the $130 for what was supposed to be 2 hours of driving, but ended up being 45 minutes (in which we drove on the back roads and a 10 minute highway drive). He made another promise at this point to give me "extra time" during my next lesson. Scheduling my next lesson, I wanted to clear up our misunderstanding from the previous class. As I proceeded to ask Mr. Gus clarifying questions regarding our session, I mentioned that I was only felt inclined to pay $65 for 1 hour and not have to pay for the additional time that was taken away from me during our last session. Mr. Gus hung up the phone on me and never called back to apologize or schedule any further lessons. I felt disrespected and Mr. Gus was completely unprofessional. There are no contracts or agreements signed so it gives him a lot of freedom to do as he pleases. He can get very aggressive and defensive when asked questions, and talks over you. Please be mindful of who you choose to spend your well earned money on. Everyone is not deserving.

We are now trying to get his ADAP certificate so he can take his driving test. After calling to get a copy of the certificate, I'm told (by someone in the office who seemed bothered by my request) that he did not participate in that part of the class. She stated that the teens are given an option to participate. This can't be true. They let a teenager choose whether or not they want to participate in this part of the program!?!. We are now stuck with tyring to figure out how to achieve this responsbility! The process is very flawed and they need to ensure that parents are aware of this option. The staff is not helpful, to the point of being dismissive!

The fact that your apparent attempt to gaslight this situation is very disturbing to say the least. To do this to people of color trying to do better with there life is quite unsettling. Do better.
