    Updated Field Map

I came out to SAP for the Left Behind Scenario game on Sept 23,17. This was a big event with mission and prizes, no pre-registration was required. I arrived at 9:30, 30 minutes before the event started to get checked in. I was unhappy to hear that the event had been canceled. None of the staff could say why. So the days was just open play. I had driven 2hrs to play so I stayed. They clam to be the biggest paintball field in Oregon and I believe it, they have at least 11 different field to play on or during a large event game, all of them. So of the fields could use some TLC but they were all playable. They have safe netted areas where you can sit out and safely take of your mask, they are spread out through out the fields. Plan on doing a lot of walking since everything is spread out. Also several of the fields are down hill to you will need to go back up it to get back to the parking lot and check in. They offer all you need to play. Rental marker, paintball, clothing, pods, air and so much more. The staff were very helpful, because they move from field to field they carry radios. If you need to know where the game is being play they will call the ref for you. The refs carry paper towels for wiping paint and spray for you mask. Also they have bottle water, if a player get dehydrated they have your back. Safety is very important to them and the rule are enforced. You can leave the game at anytime to get paint, air or a bit to eat. They were only using one ref and there were a lot of people. Wouldn't have hurt to add another one. The reason I didn't give them 5 stars is as followed. 1) Canceling a event without notice, we had 40-50 people show up that morning. We were told that the owner canceled because not enough people pre-registered. Attached is the flyer, it doesn't say anywhere that we had to. Plus we had more than enough people. 2) They allow players to take off their mask on the field. They check everyone marker to make sure they have barrel cover on but that doesn't mean someone just joining the game will have his on. I haven't seen this at any other fields before. Several time I saw people without covers on or shooting paintball during a mask off time. I felt it was very unsafe. They try to enforce the rules but with the size of the fields, it is a daunting task. Overall I did enjoy me time at Splat and will return.

This is the best place to play paintball in the area! Highly recommend to anyone thinking of trying paintball, a great place to go for a day of fun or to get more involved in paint balling as a pastime. They are open rain or shine and the courses and awesome. The staff and reps are super knowledgeable about paintball, friendly, and helpful with questions about gear or equipment. They have great rental gear but are even happy to answer your questions and help you out with problems if you brought your own. It's obvious their team enjoys what they do and they want everyone who comes to have a blast while they are there. The refs are fair, explain the games and rules well, make sure everyone understands, and they do a great job of making evenly matched teams so everyone's having fun. Joe is the absolute BEST ref!!! They also have great events like bring your own paint days, and days to support veterans and first responders. Love this place and can't wait to go again!

Holy amazing weekend!! We love love love camping, and finding new places with adventures is kind of…read moreour thing. Camp Dakota did NOT disappoint!! 1. The sites: of you want to be close in to the action, the sites are close together like your typical state park. If you want some privacy, you camp up the hill where the spaces are a little more private. We stayed in a 10 Person yurt with 10 people and had room to spare. The yurt and site were clean and well maintained. Oh, and there's a little shed with wood if you didn't bring your own, so it doesn't have to be carted up the hill, you just pay for what you use. 2. The facilities: I was not looking forward to port-a-potty camping. I was pleasantly surprised to find the facilities in clean condition. Clearly they are cleaned frequently, and always stocked with TP. 3. The Adventures: there's a potential for dropping a lot of money on all the extras. But the activities we were able to do with the $20 wrist bands kept us easily busy all weekend. We went back to the rock wall and archery range several times. We also did a zip line tour (my first. I was terrified), and it was a blast and totally worth the money. And the guides were amazing, which brings me to my last point.... 4. THE PEOPLE!!! In my experience, places like this have people working for them who are obviously sick of all the kids and forcing a smile to keep their jobs. Not at Camp Dakota. From the moment we got there, we were welcomed, joked with, and I felt that the family friendly atmosphere was genuine. They all made an attempt to learn our names and ask if we were having fun. They are also clearly trained in safety for all the adventures they run. They really made this trip for us. Special shout out to Juggernaut, Bumblebee, Tumbleweed, Rerun, Care Bear, and most especially PEACOCK!! Y'all are amaze balls. Oh and ps. You can have pizza delivered to your camp site. If that doesn't sell ya, well we just can't be friends.

There are two fields to play in. One is a speed ball field that is just inflatables, lots of open area. The other field is a wooded area that offers a wood tank, a fort, a Log fort, a 1950's Car, a huge metal pipe and bunkers. The field is border with netting to protect people not playing from getting it. There is a lot of cover and concealment. There is a staging area with table and the shop/store. The shop is just a wooden shed but that is where you check in, fill air, buy paint or snakes. They offer rental guns, masks, and protective vest. Their equipment is quite nice and kept in good order. There prices are pretty good, better than other fields. If you paid for all day air they will remind you to fill before the start of every game. You have to sign a waiver but the nice thing is you can do it online. Game play is run by at least two referees, they control the games really well. They wear bright clothing so you see them and they are fair. They call out player that have been hit and just to see if player have been hit. They use whistles to let everyone know the start and end of games. They run several types of games. I use a fake bomb that must be disarmed. Looks like real and has a countdown, if you don't disarm in time it blows up (sounds an alarm). There is two way to disarm one buy pressing a button to 60 sec or pull one of four plugs. If you pull the wrong plug you blow up. Overall this place is great and I would come back. CON is the bathroom. It's a long walk down a steep hill. You have to use the camps bathroom. The bathroom is nice but I rather have a port a potty they have to make that walk again.

Just based on the dearth of activities for kids of a certain age out here, I know airsoft was going to come into the equation. I used to take the family's terrible 1983 Ford F-250 to the auto repair shop around the corner (now gone), and always wondered how this place was. Answer: A very mixed bag. First off, I want to thank the staff up front who was great with helping me out on this first trip. I'd done a lot of paintball back east, but hadn't had much experience with airsoft. They made sure I was all taken care of and wasn't going to be in a position where I got hurt or hurt someone else. If this was just a shop? Five stars. But the playing field itself? Absolute clown show. You run into the same issues in paintball: Either the worst players from CoD in meatbag form or guys who just want to show off for people they think are military. If you have good refs, you can negate their impact and most of you will have a good time. If your ref is one guy who's, I don't know, asleep half the time or down the block playing pinball, it's going to be miserable for everyone but the biggest assholes. First off, the mounted lights: You know you get to shine that shit in people faces exactly once before they figure it out and do something you don't like, right? Second, the squatters: Oh, you're just going to sit there and pick off people as they come out of exits? Fine... you get that once, too. Finally, the level of carny-bred bumpkin who doesn't know that bending the rules is going to be met with more bending of the rules and cheaters are suddenly going to run crying to a referee who, as mentioned before, either doesn't care or doesn't exist. Other than the schadenfreude that came during that last game, I didn't enjoy much of the time in the arena. This place treats it like an ATM and an afterthought, and I'd be really surprised if there aren't hands thrown here on weekends. I genuinely worry that this part of Washington County is starting to frown on things like this, so I don't want to be too harsh to the business. But when I see how packed the arcade/"museum" lot is compared to this place... and read the experiences of others... I get the feeling it just might end up downsizing to a shop after all.

Pitch black arena you end up getting shot by your own team more than the opposing team. They have 6 different lighting modes when you ask the ref to go up even one level on lighting the response is "ill think about it" and not change it for even single game. If you request a game play mode the ref again says "we'll see" then never playing your request through the whole night. They make random teams so every game is mismatched on skill level. But if you ask to be with your son they intentionally split you up half the night. They have rules never seen before such as gun hits count then your gun, red dot, flashlight, etc get targeted and needing repair. If someone is found and complaints about cheating they will give them a soft warning but if you leave the course after a game before the ref says you get kicked out. I will never go here again and would advice all fellow air softers to not get treated like a baby and get talked down to by power tripping refs and pitch black maps and spend your money somewhere where they respect and show loyalty to their customers who are spending $1000s+
