Their fall festival, including the pumpkin patch, was not running yet and I felt some of the farm was a little limited because of that. They ran out of apple cider donuts for purchase and parts of the farm had a closed sign on it. That being said, there was still plenty of animals to visit, including two camels!, bounce houses for kids, outdoor games, and general farm vibes. Next time I would pack a picnic lunch as the only options available were lemonade and donuts until they were sold out on site. Staff was friendly and the animals looked well cared for. Perfect spot for a weekend farm day activity. I was surprised how much fun my kids had and look forward to visiting again when I can walk more of the farm.

Their tour was running late- by late I mean 40 minutes... so we had to shuffle things around party wise. The tour consists I of seeing the animals. Didn't realize that the Ostrich were there for lol meat purposes. During the tour kiddos got to feed them. They have a few different areas to roam, with some tables. It's a decent sized place. If you're planning on visiting, make a reservation for ether a group or private tour. The group tour is $15 per person while the private tour is $150 for the entire group. The only drawback with the group tour is you don't know how many people might be in it. We had almost 40 in our group and that was a bit too many in my opinion. When you arrive, check-in is inside the red barn. They'll let you know which group tour you belong to. They have port o' potties and hand washing stations behind the barn. If you end up getting any food from the food truck (ostrich sliders and ostrich philly steak style sandwiches), you can bring it into the barn where there's picnic style tables and benches. The "gift shop" is also inside the barn. If you do come on wet day or after it rains, be sure to wear appropriate shoes...it can get muddy as you walk from one animal area to another.

One section has the female alpacas and males are in a different outside area. The female alpacas we tried to feed were not as interested in us so we tried our luck with the males. The three males at the feeding area welcomed the food. One of them would try to eat out of our hand when one of their buddies is already eating. I recommend wearing clothes that you don't mind having spit on. My husband got some spit splatter on his jacket when we were trying to feed one of the female alpacas. There is a wide selection of items in the gift shop and we left with a stuffed animal that looks just like the voracious eater we met at this ranch. Come have some fun with the alpacas!

If you've never heard of the Belmont Goats, read on! Their story began years ago on a vacant lot on SE Belmont where the goats were originally brought in to clear brush. (Goats are really great at that - 50 goats can clear roughly one acre in 3-5 days) But what started as a practical land management solution, quickly bloomed into something much bigger. The public fell in love with these friendly goats! Over the years the goats have faced their fair share of struggles, but the public has banded together to ensure they always have a safe and reliable home. Because of this community support, the goats have done a fair bit of travel within the city. They left Belmont for several locations in Lents, then moved north to University Park, then made their way to a permanent home in St Johns at Pier Park. I just want to say "thank you" to all the volunteers who have contributed their time, donated money, and advocated for these sweet creatures over the years. The community that has been built around the Belmont Goats says a lot for Portlanders, and our shared appreciation for making our city a friendly and loving place. It's free, but donations accepted to help out with the goats. The people running the place were friendly and informative. I was able to pet and brush the goats. The alpaca's themselves are super fun. They are primarily food driven so don't expect too much love unless you are feeding them. BUT that being said if you are feeding them, prepare to be surrounded.
