This is my second time here. It is my absolute favorite place to take the family for a relaxing day of swimming and barbecuing. The place is completely unmarked and I understand why there are so few reviews, it definitely is one of those "hidden treasures"and honestly I don't want anyone to know about it so I'm mad at myself for even doing this review. You take I five south, take that Canby exit, Left at the first light and go straight for about 3 miles, it will be a tiny little bridge and on the right-hand side you'll see a completely unmarked gravel driveway and that is your entrance! The parking is free, if it's crowded just park along the sides and make sure you don't get in anybody's way. There are no garbage cans down on the beach so make sure you pack up your own trash and there's a dumpster up at the parking lot for you to dispose of it politely. There are two outhouses, one is handicapped and the other is standard. The handicap one is definitely favorable, they are both kept pretty clean but since there's nowhere to change out of your river clothes everybody jumps into the handicap one and does what they gotta do. The beach is self is rocks, there is very little sand so if you're bringing a tent to set it up don't be disillusioned thinking it's gonna be all cushy.... you will be on rocks. The water itself is not too deep, there is a point that smaller kids can jump but adults would definitely not be OK doing it. They're small rapids that are safe for children and adults to ride down with floaty's or canoes and you can just you enjoy a safe ride. You will notice when you are there that there is one particular side of the bank that has over growing plants and branches on it down towards the water, to be honest that side is the only bad part, it gets deeper but there is a huge metal tube that not many people know about it is extremely dangerous. It's not going to suck you in or anything but it is there, it's jagged, and it's rusted. We found it because last year my son was swimming over there and his hand got a nasty cut, thank God I always carry a first aid kit! So when you get there look around if you see branches growing of the water just be smart and avoid that area everything else seems to be perfectly safe. read more
