I loved my time at this Gym…read more The staff are so friendly and helpful and the facilities are great too! The building itself doesn't much look like it's a gym from the outside (I was living in Rainham for 4 years before I actually knew what it was! I thought it was part of the peoples home next door. Oh dear). It's a lovely old grade 2 listed building, think I was told it was 300 or so years old. But inside is nice and nicely air conditioned throughout. It's not your typical gym where everything is all in one room and you feel like you're being watched by everyone around you. It is over 2 floors and has numerous rooms all with separated equipment so if you're uncomfortable about being seen working out by others it's easy find a quiet room where you can go about your exercise without interruption. Changing rooms are nice and clean with sun showers which you need to book in to use but they're almost alway's available when you want them . The spa, sauna and steam room are also located downstairs which had a refit just before I left this gym (through emigrating, not anything against them) which unfortunately opened the week I left. urrghh. So I didn't get to see it but I heard it is great. The Trainers here are so friendly and as part of membership (if you choose to) you get regular meetings where you'll get weighed, measured and discuss any training concerns you might have which is really helpful if you have specific goals as they're all about helping you reach them. You can also get one on one Personal Training sessions for a small extra charge (I think £25 but are well worth it). A couple of classes are also available to take part in which you need to book in advance. While I was a member it was just Circuit Training and Leg's, Bum's and Tum's but was talk of other's. They also have a qualified beauty team on hand for the usual waxing, facials, manicure, pedicure, massage ect. Excellent for a bit of pampering after a hard workout. I enjoyed this gym so much that with the encouragement of the team I qualified as a Fitness Instructor myself - and took the course with them. Way better than any of the other bigger named gym's in the area.

Eh.. I was really disappointed with this place…read more My husband and I signed up after my husband had a motorbike accident as his Physiotherapist recommended it. The day we went to sign up we went through all of our paperwork, fee's ect and then got a tour of the gym. We got given our key card and were asked if we wanted to book in for an assessment which we did. When it came to this 'assessment' they either didn't care or they're idea of one is completely different to everybody else's. My husband explained in great detail is injury (extreme back pain) and what his goals were but they didn't seem bothered. Instead they wanted to get him lifting weights straight off!! When my husband explained he couldn't even bend down to tie his laces so there was no chance of lifting anything. At this the guy seemed to completely give up with us and just gave us a tour of the gym.. Urm.... we'd already seen it. Once that was done that was it - we were free to use the facilities. No blood pressure check or anything! I was absolutely shocked. Especially at the time I was clearly more than a few pounds overweight and explained to them that I had suffered high blood pressure. As we'd already agree's to a 6 month contract we had no choice but stick with them. After the experience with the so-called trainer though we didn't use the gym - Just the pool and spa which was nice but certainly not worth the fee we were paying them! In short? Extortionate monthly fee on top of a sign up fee and worst experience with a Trainer... ever. Shame on them

The facilities were once good but there is so much better and cheaper out there now! I have been…read moregoing for a good number of years and it is definitely looking tired and out of date, quite often things are broken and stay broken for a while- try Larkfield for example which is AMAZING! Staff are friendly, however worse experience is cancelling membership as if you get into arrears they pass on your details to a Credit Collection company who then hound you for money and charges- which I don't think is very good customer care. So beware.
