A small family run amusement park how can you go wrong?…read more This park was awesome as it really does have something for everyone to have a fun filled day either in the sun or in the pool! So they have a a handful of flat rides as well as 3 roller coasters with one for the little ones one for those in the middle and then one for the extreme with their star attraction Rampage! They also have a very good sized Waterpark with tons of slides a lazy river and a wave pool with all this your sure to stay cool on your adventure all day! Their employee Alex was beyond awesome and accommodating to me as he was kind enough to take me on a backstage tour as well as a lift hill climb up Rampage which was beyond cool as well as beautiful not only from the coaster standpoint it from just where in this beautiful country the park is located with stunning views of hills and trees you can't go wrong! They do sell their tickets online for a discount so definitely check on that as it will save you some money but more importantly if you live local just buy a season pass as your gonna wanna come here more than once! They offer FREE drinks and parking which is super cool as it gets hot here so it's a great way to stay hydrated on those forever summer days! Overall this really is an amazing park that I can't wait to come back to at some point because it's totally a vibe and a fun one at that!

There is a vast difference in the way it looks now vs when "The General" was in attendance. It is still a family oriented business with modesty and behaviors of the customers being excellent and we still love it, but the park is very run down. 1. Restrooms need a good pressure wash, paint job and toilet paper. 2. In all fairness, it has rained almost every day this summer but the entire park needs a good cleaning. The chairs were moldy, there were slick spots on the concrete where it needs a good bleach or pressure wash as well as the lunch tables were filthy. Thankfully there was a spray bottle and towel by them which means I could clean before my kiddos could sit down. 3. I'm sure they were tired and ready to not be working (especially since we are in a heat wave), but the employees were not friendly, or took far too much time to load 5-6 people, and some were not at their post for a lot of the carnival rides. The guy at the Cheddar Cheese ride was friendly and quick. We did note that we didn't see anyone over the age of 20ish working. Adults could have been behind the scenes, but It definitely needs adult supervision among the younger employees. 4. A lot of the Alabama Adventure side wasn't working. We had to leave the tilt a whirl because it would not turn on after we loaded. Rampage was not open until much later in the day. Drop Zone only had two seats open. YoYo had a lot of seats closed. Only one car running at Cheddar Cheese. 5. The lines at Splash Adventure were fairly short, but the wait was long. Standing in the sun for half an hour was unbearable due to employees not being engaged. 6. The tubes for The Lazy River were about 5:1 on a not so busy day. You definitely need a float device because the current is fairly quick. 7. The wave pool was not waving, just a pool. 8. Almost all of the shops on Main Street are empty.

Some parts of the trail are paved, and others parts a gravel. It runs along Shades Creek, and there are some benches along the path to sit and look at the water. The only bathrooms are next to the Mountain Brook Elementary School sports field / Jemison Dog Park. There are 2 single person bathrooms, which have always been pretty clean.

This was a last-minute stop based on a sign I saw along the side of the road, and it was absolutely…read moreworth it! I had some difficulty finding it, as there is a town called "Natural Bridge." Google directed me there, and not to the park, itself, which caused some confusion. Coming in from the I-10, take highway 13 North to road 278. Turning RIGHT takes you to the town. Turning LEFT takes you to the bridge. There are some signs, but they are worn, and obscured by vegetation. Arriving at the park, one is immediately greeted with picturesque views, and a trickling creek. The trees are majestic, and the parking ample. It's important to remember that this is rural Alabama, and not some big city. The admission is inexpensive, and the trails are simple. The people that run the gift shop are country folk, and are very kind. Mind your manners (and your children). Stay on the trails, walk carefully, and do what the sign says - "Take only pictures .....leave only footsteps. With that said, this place was amazing. The bridge is absolutely breathtaking, as is the rock formation called "Indian Head." Many inscriptions - some over 100 years old - are carved into the surrounding sandstone. There is dripping water under the bridge, so watch your step! The trail is primitive and there are roots sticking out here and there - be careful! Shoes with traction are a MUST here for safety reasons! Enough said - go enjoy this natural wonder for yourself!

There's a very narrow path to the left of the falls, but not an easy path. Also getting to the path requires threading through the water atop the waterfall. Years ago, I brought my students here on a field trip. There are healthy eating classes and workout classes offered in the warmer months. Check their FB page or website for exact times and dates. One of the coolest parts of this park is watching the trains go by. It's not called Railroad Park for no reason, lol. Parking can be tricky when there's an event being held here. But that's no fault of the park itself. There's nothing like a peaceful walk in the park and this park is the perfect place to do just that. Come visit!

There is not a playground here (sorry kiddos) but what you do find are many trails to walk and enjoy . You actually might not even see another person . This is a huge park with many trails intersecting one another. There are plenty of informative signs all around, benches and just tranquil scenery. How could you not like sitting beside a creek listening to the sounds of nature. Most parks miss the whole point of what a park is supposed to b. There is history around if you look hard enough . I have been twice so far and haven't seen all the trails yet. You will see turtles sunning themselves and colorful birds They have one bathroom at the entrance and a pavilion with picnic tables right beside the parking area. If you like nature (as I do!) , wildlife, and peace and quiet this is your jam. It is mine:) Now women word of warning I wouldn't come here by yourself straight up. The place is so huge and I'm sorry if you go on the long trails it could b dangerous. Just b cautious and observant. So this is a more of a wild park than people are used to. The parking lot is gravel. If you love to explore nature as I do! You should love it:) I love the history of this place which many parks erase or don't highlight enough (Alabaster cough cough) So take a water bottle, a snack, and love of exploring and go check this place out. Please though respect the park don't litter, and have some time in nature. Quietly please ... Red Mountain Park is a fantastic place to spend an afternoon hiking, with so much to explore. While…read morevisiting Alabama, my friends and I decided to spend a couple of hours here and ended up hiking about 5-6 miles. There's truly no shortage of trails, and the variety keeps things interesting the entire time. The park definitely offers some challenging uphill climbs--especially for us Florida girls who aren't used to elevation--but we powered through and felt very accomplished. One of my favorite highlights was Rushing Rendezvous; the idea of a suspension bridge tucked up in the treetops always excites me, and this one did not disappoint. Of course, when we saw Trail 5 marked as most difficult, it was a no‑brainer--we had to take it. I really enjoyed reading about the history along the way, especially learning more about the Birmingham Mineral Railroad site. I do wish there had been a bit more signage around some of the remaining structures so we could soak up even more history, but honestly, guessing their original purpose became part of the fun. Hands down, I would absolutely come back to explore more of Red Mountain Park. It's a great mix of challenge, scenery, and history--and well worth the visit.

But I was searching for information about Marshall…read moreCounty Park # 1.when I was young , Marshall County Park #1 was the place for family and especially kids, young and upp to seniors. They had picnic areas. A Pier to fish on. A swimming Pier. Loads of Sand . A great place for every member of the family. A great place to gather. They had rides. A tilty whearl, a train that went through the park. A ferris wheel , a roller coaster, and several other rides. Plus a play ground. There was a snack bar, a stage where bands came . Of all kinds. And I know my sister and brothers were there all Summer. I miss this. It seems like Guntersville only publishes for Bass Fishing. It should be a place not only for Bass fisherman and all Fishing, but the Lake. GUNTERSVILLE LAKE SHOULD BE MORE FOR ALL THE FAMILY, NIT JUST FISHING. I plan on bringing this up to the people of Guntersville. And taking the new owners of the famous Advertiser Gleam. Bring something to Guntersville for the entire family and watch it grow. But I have lived here all my life and the city seemed to want it to stay a small town. But County Park number 1 would be a Great Place for what used to be there. A place for the entire family. I know we have a small beach in Guntersville. But there are too many homes for a a great park like we could have. Even a water slide would be a great thing for our town. And people jobs. Summer jobs for teens even adults. If you think this could be a good idea let me know I would love to see something like this for our kids and grandkids.
