This track was huge and sorta intimidating! 1 lap around = 1 mile. We managed to WALK 3 miles but it was a little bit of a challenge. Hopefully the next time I come here I'll be able to run and not just walk the track. By no means am I a runner but I am trying to challenge myself more with my workout regimen. The park was super crowded due to baseball games going on. There are several baseball fields along with soccer fields. This is a nice facility. Oh and there is a small and large dog park on site as well! I plan to bring my fur buddy to the dog park real soon. I'm sure he'll love it! There is adequate parking with ease to accessing the park. The park is located right off the main Hwy so it's really easy to find.

They had refs, rec league players, scoreboard keepers, clean restrooms, vending machines with snacks and a drink machine. There was also a water fountain where you can fill up your water bottles! Parking was easy from the road and near the play area. They had a blacktop walking/biking trail and a nice little creek with a cute bridge. There were a couple bench type swings that were broken and laying on the ground and the play equipment could use a powerwash or fresh coat of paint along with fresh mulch. The walking trail is pretty decent which has you going in different directions depending on which part you want to start off with. Certain areas are closed off because of construction, but you still can get a good walk in. This park is located off of I459. After see it many times while driving down the highway, I…read moredecided to stop and check it out. The park, which features a giant replica Statue of Liberty, shares the parking lot with the Alabama Boy Scouts of America. The parking lot is decent sized. When I got there the gate around the parking lot was closed no locked. I could still see the statue, but you can not really get a good frontal view. It is pretty much the statue, on a pedestal, in an open field. Even though it is pretty simple, I found it very impressive. The replica statue is A 1/5th scale of the one in New York and stands 36 feet. It original home was the Liberty National Life Insurance building in 1958. It was moved to its current location, Liberty Park in 1988. It is rumored to be one of the largest Liberty replicas in the world. Even though I was not able to get into the park, I still enjoyed seeing the statue up close and got a lot of good pictures. This is definitely not a big time consumer. I spent less than 15 minutes there, but it is still a must stop if you are in the area.

Liberty Park is very, very tiny...just large enough to hold the statue, a plaque, and some flags and lights so that Lady Liberty looks good at night as well as during the daytime. Worth a stop-off if you're in Birmingham just to see one of the oddities of the town. Not as big of an attraction as the strange Vulcan Statue nearby, but I think visiting the two on the same trip is a good idea.

Ruffner Mountain was a great stop during our four‑day girls hiking trip in Alabama. Even with a shorter hike, we were still able to experience and enjoy the park and its trails. My favorite part was Cambrian Overlook. Even though I'm scared of heights, I knew I had to push myself to the edge of the cliff to take in the view--and I'm so glad I did. The scenery was absolutely gorgeous and worth every bit of bravery it took to snap a photo. If I find myself back in the area, I would definitely be open to returning and exploring more of what the park has to offer. It's a beautiful spot and a great option for hikers of all levels.
