Limited selection but still wonderful! The staff leaves you alone unless you need help which is nice.

Like many post-pandemic men, I wear ties far less often than I used to--but when I do, every tie…read moreand pocket square I own comes from Seigo Katsuragawa. The quality is exceptional, and considering the craftsmanship involved, the pricing is more than reasonable. What truly sets this place apart, however, is the world-class customer service. Shopping here feels personal, thoughtful, and never rushed. Seigo Katsuragawa's story is as compelling as his products. After moving from Tokyo to New York and studying at FIT, he spent years supplying ties to iconic retailers like Paul Stuart and Barneys before launching his own brand in 1992. That experience clearly shows in the refined balance between Japanese craftsmanship and American style. The ties themselves are works of art. The silk is woven in small mills in Kyoto using looms traditionally reserved for kimono fabrics, they are also hand-sewn in Japan. Each design is produced in extremely limited quantities--often only eight or twelve worldwide--and individually numbered. The result is a tie that feels genuinely special, with beautiful, vibrant patterns you simply won't see elsewhere. The Madison Avenue shop remains a welcome redoubt of classic menswear in an era when ties are less common, and it's easy to see why the brand has such a loyal following among professionals and notable figures alike. If you value craftsmanship, understated luxury, and impeccable service, Seigo Katsuragawa is second to none.

Seigo neckties may seem a splurge in this era, but they're worth it!…read more Silk patterns (some in motifs) of highest quality, kimono-grade silk, hand made in Japan and lately sold only at a single Carnegie Hill boutique. My favorite is a forest green basketweave number with multi color "dots" (each a tiny "x" of two strands of thread) -- suitable for wear over Christmas holiday. This line is limited to 8 originals per pattern. Tops!

I was in the area to visit Alice's Tea Cup & stumbled into this location, I used to shop them in…read moremidtown east but that location on 36th street closed. Well this location blows that tiny store away, so much more variety and options! They have expanded their accessories & clothing variety vastly. So many cute dresses and blouses. I ended up purchasing some cute stuff for Coachella & the sales people were very knowledgable & fashion-forward. I was even offered a drink or glass of water from their new flower wall bar. Check this store out it's really cute!

So, firstly, I want to say that this place did intrigue me, and I am VERY picky when it comes to…read moreshoes. Because of this, I will give 2 stars. Now moving on to why 3 stars have been knocked off.... The customer service here is absolutely HORRENDOUS. I was looking at a pair of "creepers" that were absolutely beautiful and was about to ask if they have it in my size when I was rudely approached by a saleswoman (didn't catch her name, but she was in her 40's, I would say), who exclaimed "Um, that is our display!!! You can look at those shoes here!", as she waved her hand to a shelf. Her tone was so horrible that even her colleague, who looked a little younger, started giggling and smirking. I immediately walked out, took three steps down the block, only to think to myself to go back and let her know that I did not appreciate her statement, her tone or the way she handled herself in any means with an interested customer. When I did, she quickly put on a fake smile and passive-aggressively stated "Okay, have a nice day!", as she exaggerated a wave at me, with her friend trying to hide her laugh. Pretty sure I graduated high school years ago... It's unfortunate for the store to be represented like this because my friends and I have been coming here for a while because it's a nice shoe store that is right in our neighborhood. But after this incident, we will all be taking our business elsewhere...
