The deals are good and selection isn't horrible (in fact, you'll see some very obscure brands and products suited for people way below the average income in this city or even in Sunnyside) but the checkout lines are ungodly LONG!!!! They are so obscenely short staffed here I wouldn't be surprised if lots of people have walked out the door with items or just walked out the door and bought nothing because they didn't have 15 or 20 minutes to stand in line. It's also not the cleanest or best maintained Dollar Tree I've seen by any stretch. I think the long line for checking out is a feature here since every time I've gone here during different days and times of the week, the line has been insane. It makes you ask "do I need this item for $1.25 THAT badly?" It seems very random as to when they open a second register to conquer these long lines sometimes taking up more than one store aisle. I can't imagine what it would be like trying to shop here around the holidays. You might see the rapture happen before you get to pay for items. The store manager/owner needs to be taking note here and fixing this since I know this line deters me from shopping here unless I absolutely must get something and know it won't be cheaper elsewhere. Let me tell you, this $1.25 store has good lighting and a good layout. It is more open than the one further east on Queens Blvd and north in Astoria. Vibe check is ok. Crowd is usually on the more senior side and not sketchy. Like most dollar stores it's usually understaffed and tends to have only one cashier. Lines form in an aisle so if it looks like the line is too good to be true, it may well be, but do check the aisle across the register before people yell. I love browsing. You'll find the most random things and also the most useful, and wonder how they sell them for a fraction of what Home Depot or BBB charges. Like knock off command hooks, hair ties, school supplies, kitchen supplies, craft items, and helium balloons! Merch is updated fairly frequently which makes every trip a new adventure. They finally reopened the store end of September beginning of October 2024 they now have a larger selection than before, but a lot of the items have been downsized. There is also a section in there for Family Dollar so be prepared and know what you're buying so you don't get sticker shock at the end of the cashier since Family Dollar is two dollars through $10 and more You have been warned. It happened to me, but the items are still discounted $1.25 is a very good price for Dollar Tree . My only complaint is it's gone from full-size to half size now a lot of the products are travel size I do recommend it. Parking is very difficult Because of congestion pricing people park nearby and walk over or take their scooters over the bridge. Come by and say hi. You always have fun here. read more

This store has their sh*t together. Got really nice customer service here. I had to do an in store pickup to sell stock. The wonderful lady at the register was very helpful. We eneded doing an instore purchase as well. I couldn't be more happy with how we were treated. I loved that there wasn't a line. Everyone was practicing social distancing. The manager was very patient as he looked for our ordered. We showed ID and that was it. In and out of the store in under five minutes. If that isn't good customer service I don't know what is. This location has more stuff stocked on the shelves than the astoria locations. read more

It's like an obstacle course here. Unopened boxes in cart located in numerous aisles throughout the store. Lots of stacked Wise Foods boxes. Customers opening boxes to get items. You can not even see the shelves. This Dollar Tree has more extensive selection and products. It is disorganized. Since boxes stacked on the floor and covering shelves limiting access to reach for items. Watch where you walking. You may step on something. Too much clutter, unopened boxes. Everytime I go inside, I always have a different experience. The aisles are always cluttered or blocked off. There's some kind of construction or leakage coming from somewhere. Like I said there's always a surprise every time. Never the same. One time I witnessed an angry customer who got caught shoplifting. He decided to throw down one of the towers in the middle of one of the aisles, which holds reading glasses and sunglasses. I think it could've been handled better by the employees. Instead they all cowered far away like the dude had the plague. Thankfully none of the customers got caught in the shenanigans. The employees should've warned the customers instead of trying to protect ONLY their asses. Cops were called after everything happened and the dude left the store. Too little, too late!! Anyways, I also witnessed a manager screaming at one of the cashiers. I was shocked and embarrassed for her. No one should go through that in front of paying customers. Have the decency and respect for yourself and everyone else to do this in private. Don't air your dirty laundry for the entire world to hear and see. I can go on and on, but I won't. I continue to go since everything is literally a dollar. I get things from here such as bottles of water for a dollar and it is right next door to New York Sports Club. Some parts were neatly displayed. Like the food the soaps . The have such a wide variety of stuff for the craft section. More variety than other dollar trees nearby. The staff was nice and helpful. Half the isles were blocked with carts of unloaded stuff . There was a bunch of boxes every where !!! read more

So on Wednesday morning I stopped by to dollar tree to get a yellow highlighter and some index cards. Since I was gonna use index card and throw it out after one use I decided to get them from dollar tree. First few of the aisle was too messy! And small ladder is in the middle of the aisle where people walk by. It's not well organized!! Everything is all over the place. Second I saw snack aisle which someone ate cheese doodles and left it open which is a definitely violation. Maybe one of the employees? Who knows.. I saw few employees working there. A girl & a guy was organizing but they were to busy fooling around instead of working. Another lady playing around with her phone. There was 4 or 5 register! Only 1 is open with a long line! They have few popular brands where I could find from CVS but the dollar tree sell it for a $1. I don't know about food products, snacks or medication is worth it getting there but anything like highlighter, frames, pens and other stuff is worth it getting from dollar tree. This place really need to be cleaned up and well organized! read more

This is definitely one of the best dollar tree stores in Queens. It is organized, clean, and the staff are all (so far) respectful. When I can't locate something I need at my local dollar tree I find it here. This is one of my Wednesday morning regular stops. It is raining cats and dogs out here so the manager let us all in a bit early. That was sweet of her. Although the registers were not quite setup yet we were just grateful to be out of the rain. Cool peoples. The Q32 takes me from Labcorp to the Dollar Tree in less than 2 minutes. So I knock out my personal responsibilities and pleasure in one morning. Yay read more

I've shopped here frequently for large bottles of water, soda, and cleaning products. They always have the things i need for home cleaning, and the prices are always very reasonable. I hope they are genuine products and not knockoffs. Anyway, this isn't Saks Fifth Ave, so the clientele can be a bit suspect at times and this neighborhood in general just has people that SCREAM SUSPECT with a capital S. It is what it is. Each time I go to the gym I pass by this store. A very good store for almost everybody. I stopped here couple times but didn't really buy anything much because I wasn't sure of what to get here yet. One time my friend and I stopped by to get her craft items for her niece and nephew. This is a good place to get stuff for a kid party if you plan to have one. This location is a bit easier to shop because not a lot of people come here. Other than for a party, you can also get the stuff for crafts, school supplies, and kitchen tools. Yes! A legitimate dollar store where everything in the store is literally $1. This is a great store for household odds and ends that are highly marked up from nearby convenient stores such as sandwich bags, soda, nail polish remover, batteries, and party supplies (including helium balloons). What I appreciate about this store is that it carries brand name options and not just knock-off brands, all for $1 each. You can find Coca-Cola products, Nestle and Hershey chocolate brands, and cold medicine like Mucinex. I can't give it 5-stars yet, because the aisles are often messy with the latest holiday decorations and there is never more than 2 cashiers available (usually only 1) which makes checking-out a bit slow. I had the MOST HORRIFIC experience at this Dollar Tree. Get ready because this is a long one: I ordered a case of flowers for a concert at the school I teach at from the website and chose this location for pick up because it is the closest location to my apartment. After it arrived (two days later than the projected date) I went to pick them up. When I arrived I noticed the random boxes all over and a sour smell in the store. It looked disgusting inside. I waited in line and then presented the email about my flowers. I was told to speak to the manager and when she arrived I showed her the email on my phone and she asked for my ID which I gave. She took both and then walked away with them for 30 minutes. I felt unsafe with someone taking those things and just walking off. As I waited I witnessed a mouse run across the floor. When she returned she said she couldn't find my order (which is not surprising because like I said, there were boxes all over the place.) I asked what can be done because I had prepaid and she said to call back tomorrow. The next day I call back and spoke to a male manager. He said he didn't have time to speak with me. I said I could not call back later because I was on a break from work. I asked if he could look for my package and call me if he found it. He responded with "how can I call you back if you'll be working?" I told him he could leave a message. I got no response so I called again after work and he said he had not found my order and to call headquarters for a refund. I do call and as I'm on the phone he calls me back saying they DO have my package. Great, I'll be right there to pick it up. When I arrive I ask to speak to the manager and meet with a third person who immediately says they don't have my package. I inform her that I just spoke with someone who said they did and asked her to please at least look. She does and hands me someone else's order. what is this on queens blvd in sunnyside queens , its a dollar tree store and that means i am going in to spend about 40 bucks on cheap useful items. ok not a bad dt at all, place is not a mess , shelves are full , aisles are clear to roam about and the folks working here look friendly enough .ok i dont ever get food products at any dollar tree , but napkins , cleaning stuff for kitchen and bathroom, paper plates and plastic cups , personal items like shampoo, showergel , shaving cream, soap, etc. i always prefer to roam about every section of store which always means i will find something useful like a broom and dust pan, brillo pads , tupperware like containers, etc. ok i spent 43 bucks which put me over my 40 dollar limit again. its dollar tree folks and soon they might change the name to 5 quarters tree . lets yelp meter 4 stars for dt in sunnyside . read more

Location and selection is great but it can be a bit disorganized at times and there is rarely more than one or two cashiers open so there tends to be lines. I feel like most of the issues are due to staffing but I tend to come here during evening hours so checkout times have not been too bad. read more

If you ever wanted to decorate Easter bonnets for all the members of your congregation, make wreaths to hand to the entire parade of marching veterans on V-Day, or decorate every wall at home with flowers, this is the store to visit for an amazing selection of artificial flowers.The cemetery I visit regularly has been ruthless in the past few years about cleaning up flowers, and even my handsome floral bouquets seem to vanish after a few weeks, as if the groundskeeper wanted to present a clean look of tombstones among greenery. The maintenance people being more OCD means I need a good supply of fake blooms to augment the fresh ones I bring. So, like Ms. Scarlett, I shook my fist in the air and declared," no loved one of mine will have a barren gravesite as I live!" Ask and you shall receive; I couldn't believe the variety when I entered for a quick browse after a visit to my doctor. Dollar Tree has become my fave place to shop for fake flowers now, and I've even noticed they change them seasonally. What else do they sell here? I never really went up and down the neat aisles, but everything from socks and toiletries to dried pasta to ice cream to stationery supplies. Many seem to be brands you may not have heard of, but then, this is a dollar store! Everything is $1 and for staples, this could be a terrific place for deals. I've only ever bought fake flowers and plastic ziploc type bags here, though many locals seem to frequent this place. The cashiers are friendly, the place is clean and pretty organized and well lit. This store is the worst store in Queens . It is filthy and totally mismanaged . The aisles are always crowded with Dollie's of unpacked products making for a safety hazard, there are never enough cashiers and the managers spend their time hiding in the office while the 2 cashiers are overwhelmed. If you enjoy waiting in huge lines for 30-40 minutes to purchase 5 or 6 items then this is the store for you. I personally will never step foot in this dump again. read more

I love me a good dollar store, and Dollar Trees are usually among my favorites! Since there isn't a Dollar Tree in my 'hood, I often browse online (I lead an exciting life, I know), but rarely order that way because I can't fathom needing 24 blue plastic bubble-blowing whales or whatever, and the website ordering tends to be in bulk. When I was headed to Sunnyside this past week and noticed that there was a Dollar Tree a mere two blocks from my destination, I was probably more excited than I should have been. As far as dollar stores go, this one was pretty well-organized both in terms of aisle layout and not being totally trashed by customers. The selection included many things that I saw on the website, plus some pleasant surprises. They have a decent teacher supply/school supply selection, which was nice for me as an educator :-D Everything I happened upon was legit $1. I left with 5 items, and my total came to $5.44, I believe (accounting for tax). Although the store isn't in my part of Queens, it's a short bus/train ride away, and I can definitely see making a return visit if something from the website strikes my fancy (but not enough to order a several dozen of), or if I'm in the area looking to kill a little time. read more

I am excited to hear that "Dollar Tree" was opening up in the neighborhood because they actually sell a bit of everything from paper goods, frozen foods, tools, etc, in their store for $1.00. Of course there is tax on certain things that you buy there but that is a given. I actually find it funny that all of a sudden, I need stuff. I buy all my candy, chips, and pretzels from here. I have also stocked up on greeting cards cleaning supplies. I used to buy all these items from "Dollar Tree" stores in New Jersey or Pennsylvania. Found what I needed but was put off by a cashier. I guess she didn't take out enough change from the register to give back to the woman who was rung up before me. She asked if I was paying cash I said no so she says "oh no I need someone to pay cash" I just looked at her and took it as my cue to get my butt off her line. The line is always 10 ppl long and there is always one cashier open with a worker fixing carts in the front rather than opening another register. We love coming here especially when purchasing dry foods like pound bags of beans, pasta, dry cheese tortellini. They are good and cheaper than at a supermarket. Large canned tomatoes, etc...go for a dollar. Can't go wrong read more
