This is one of the best BBQ places I have ever been to. I…read moretravel the area monthly and everyone told me I had to get their food on the way home. The place is in a box car and they only have a drive-thru. I can only give them 1 star for customer service. There is an older man that I assume he is the owner. I have stopped by 6 times now and everytime I purchase $30 to $40 of BBQ. He has never said Hello or Thank you. I promise you if the food was not so amazing I would never go back or recommend it. The Brisket falls apart it is so tender and juicy. The food is delicious. Service is NOT with a smile.

Hadn't been to Loco Coyote in a while and heard they had opened back up recently. Was in the are so…read moredecided to give it a try. Arrived around 3:00 on a Sunday afternoon. The place wasn't very crowded so got seated quickly. Ordered drinks and a few appetizers. Got the Coyote Balls and the chips with queso and salsa. Coyote Balls were excellent but the chips with queso and salsa were just ok. Got a lot of tortilla chips but look like got the bottom of the bag or someone used the bag of chips for a punching bag. Not very many whole chips. Then came time to order and one of us ordered ribs and were told the ribs had sold out and that all the bbq except the sausage was sold out. That's what we went for so would have been nice to know when we're seated that they were out of bbq. I get it, and know a lot of bbq places run out before end of the day. But most other places let customers know before being seated or at least when taking drink orders. So we had to shift gears and find something else. Wife and I shared a Chicken Fried Steak with Cole slaw and fries. Chicken fried steak was very large and didn't have a lot of breading and was ok. Slaw was ok and the fries were good. It's still the same thing eclectic Loco Coyote with the rustic Texas type decor. The troughs in the men's bathroom have wooden dividers between them now. Maybe just an off day or got there at a bad time. I'll give it a try again one of these days when in the area. Hopefully will have a better review next time. But for now sticking by my 3 stars.

DELICIOUS! I actually heard about this place from a Reddit post about places to stop on a road trip…read moreacross Texas and I'm so glad I listened! It's home cooked food, calories-not-monitored, but worth every single bite. It doesn't look like much from the outside, but I knew it was going to be good when we saw the parking lot was overflowing into the grass. Luckily there was still an open table inside and we were welcomed by the sweetest staff and our waitress was just as wonderful. So many things looked good on the menu, but I couldn't resist ending this road trip with another taste of chicken fried steak to compare to Mary's (and they can definitely compete because it was AWESOME)! We also tried the chicken fried chicken (delicious), sweet potato casserole (amazing), Mae's potato casserole (tasty), cheese sticks (good), and the hamburger and fries which was obviously delicious enough that my picky daughter almost finished it - which says a LOT! We were very glad that we'd ordered the "smaller portions" for lunch because it meant we could grab a few of the desserts to go to snack on for our final leg of the road trip and keep enjoying at home. We tried the toffee cake (incredible), peanut butter cake (sinfully good), and the coconut pie (very light and creamy)! We also snagged some items to take home with us from their coolers and I can 100% recommend their pork tamales and summer sausage. If you get the chance to stop here, you won't regret it at all! Delicious, great service, and good portions!

We were cruising down the road and chilling after eating three edibles. We were on our way to…read moreAustin when we saw this place and thought, "Hell, let's give it a try." The service was good, the food was exceptional, and the atmosphere was perfect. But I judge a place the same way I judge a hotel, by the bathroom. The seat was clean. The seat was dry, which you don't find very often. There was plenty of toilet paper. And the latch on the stall worked perfectly. At that point, I realized I had found a five star bathroom. So I sat there a little longer to enjoy the peace and quiet and ate another gummy. While contemplating life, I noticed some writing on the stall wall. It said. "If you want the job done right, call Martha." I thought, Well, Martha sounds confident. So I decided to give her a call. Turns out it wasn't Martha. It was Bob's Plumbing. So I gave the place four stars. They really need to occasionally verify the phone numbers written on the stall walls. Although, honestly, after that bathroom inspection, I'd trust Bob with the plumbing.

I can't really tell you why, but they have dropped a notch for me. The pork chop was tender and moist, but it just didn't have the flavor I expected. Worth the Drive Every Time - Reliable, Delicious BBQ for Family & Events!…read moreWe've been coming to Natty Flat Smokehouse on Hwy 281 for years, and it never disappoints. It's a bit of a drive from Granbury, but 100% worth it for consistently great Texas BBQ. The meats are always smoked perfectly with excellent flavor and tenderness, we love loading up on brisket, ribs, sausage, and whatever else looks good that day. We've dined in multiple times and also ordered big family plates to bring home for parties, holidays, and events. Everything travels well and still tastes fresh & huge hit with our whole crew. The sides are homemade and solid (the mac & cheese and potato salad get mentioned a lot in our house), and the portions are generous for the price. The rustic, down-home Texas atmosphere is part of the charm, friendly service, plenty of parking, and fun shops nearby (like the giant rocking chair spot). It feels like true Texas Hill Country hospitality. Whether you're stopping in for a quick lunch or catering a gathering, this place delivers "Dang Good BBQ" every visit. If you're anywhere near Lipan or Hwy 281, make the drive. You won't regret it we keep coming back and bringing friends/family with us!
