I don't know what their other 'heirloom' secrets are, but I know that their produce tastes more flavorful than I thought possible. The strawberries I recently picked dropped straight down from Heaven's strawberry patch. I put up a magical batch of strawberry jam & went back for 12 more pounds! The carrots & beets are crunchy & juicy with tender greens you just want to curl up with. As the season moves along you can delight in their onions, tomatoes, greens, roots, melons, eggplant, squash, sunflowers - you name it, they're growing it. They've been open to the public for about 2 years & I just became a member this season. Better than a regular CSA where you have to take a box of whatever they give you - here you can buy whatever you want/need & the cost is deducted from your 'tab'. Bonus: members get a 15% discount as well. The retail store offers local dairy products that taste creamy & decadently European. Local meats, eggs, honey, salsa, etc etc are available, too. You can get everything from your traditional lavender oils and scents, to lavender and rosemary salt, to lavender soaps, and lavender plant itself. They even have an option where you can pick your own lavender, stems and buy lavender plants, or even seeds to grow your own. They've got pretty much everything! The folks around the place are super friendly, and you can watch them make some of the products if you come at the right time. This is definitely one of those little hidden gems that is super down to earth and real. Totally worth of stop if you were looking for a nifty little activity during your visit to the area. I appreciated them noticing us behind the large group and not making us wait while they figured out the seating for the others. There were so many options on the drink menu that it was almost overwhelming! I opted for a flight so I could try multiple small samples before committing to a large glass of anything. The scenery was beautiful. It is not in glacier national Park, which was not a problem. However, the cowboy cookout was not exactly as I anticipated. The biggest concern was the steaks were cooked on a gas grill and cooked well done. We like our steaks, medium rare and they were cooked before we reached the site to eat. The salad and the beans were good. The corn on the cob was cold. The s'mores at the end over an open fire were yummy. We would go again, but would not do the dinner at the end.
