    Warm and welcoming rhythmic spin classes offering a good range of class variety thanks to their great instructors, you are always greeted with a smile and a goodbye on your way out. Been through Covid closures on and off for about 2 years and I only have positive things to say about the staff, instructors and management. They feature theme music classes, halloween, birthdays and contests designed to keep it fresh and fun. There are regular product promos where they give away water, energy bars and other items. Earplugs, hair elastics, full shower amenities (including towels) those little touches that show they care. Shoes are provided along with hand towels on your assigned bike and disinfectant wipes to clean your bike before and after your ride. You book your bike and class through their app, show up 10 minutes before and your good to go. Lockers are provided to keep valuables safe. Cancellation policy needs to be followed but it is reasonable compared to other limited admission type classes. Despite a review I read they have credited back late cancellation fees if you have a real, valid reason. You do feel they care and it's not just about money in my opinion. It's true the door can be locked if your taking first or last class of the day, it is a safety issue for staff, most regular riders are aware if this, however the door is promptly opened when you knock. Most of the time you can find street parking if you arrive 20 minutes before class, be careful to keep things in your trunk that might attract b and e car theft. Downtown location is on Granville at Drake so there are often transients nearby, but overall it's a mixed urban environment. Over 200 classes so far and not one bad experience.

    Great studio, my girl friend invited me for a class. Free 1st time riders. Staff was super helpful. Studio is super clean. Bikes were awesome. Includes: shoes, towels, lockers, so on. Instructor Lucy was amazing. The class I attended was Whitney vs Mariah, come on it was awesome!! I love how the room is dark, you can sing your heart out and no one would know. The best workout / sing a long!!! I highly recommend this gym. I will be back.

My friend J went quarter before 3 and I showed up little late when the dance session started. I wish there was a clear instruction before walking in. I was confused whether to take shoes off to change to indoor shoes or go into studios without my shoes and turns out I had to change to indoor shoes after arrival. Next step was filling out application form and if there was any medical history. I was ready for the session once it was finished. There was so much energy and the 90's hip hop was so perfect for this. Everyone wasn't first timers except for me and J. My instructor showed steps from slow speed and then the pace became quicker. It was little difficult to follow the steps and which direction to swing or to bend my legs. I nearly fell for the first 30 minutes , and then fell on the floor because of my poor balance. My only way to catch up is to observe my instructor or other people to improve dance steps. It was a fantastic work out for sure. Because there was only 1 fan, I felt very sweaty and humid in the dance studio. I only paid $10 for the first lesson and it was so worth it. Staff were nice and friendly. **Note: bring your old runners for the dance. Make sure they're clean pair. They have small change rooms so you can change into loose clothes. Water bottle is a must to bring. They even have a water station next to reception desk. I found myself overwhelmed that some moves were more of advanced level. Everyone else moved so fast I couldn't follow their speed. I found myself with a small bruise the next day.

Class Structure: Many hills and repeats. The music is more electronic or club-like music. If you enjoy singing along to pop music this studio may not be the best for you. There was 25 mins of cycling, 10-15 mins of upper body weights in the cycling saddle, and ended on "all out" cycling movements for last 10-15 mins. They provide you with cycling shoes which is a nice touch if you are travelling or dont own your pair. The class had a nice aesop-like smell with candles that added to the ambience. Instructors: My instructor was Kiki who has so much energy and was so motivating. She definetly had one of the best vibes of an instructor in a long time from my experiences. Music: The music was definitely on the VERY loud side. If thats is not your preference there are complimentary ear plugs for those who prefer to have less loud music. The loudness of the music did make it hard to hear the instructor at times. Amenities: One of the nicest studios in terms of amenities. There is a unisex change room with toilets and showers. All bath products are aesop. The vanity/mirror area is well equipped with cotton qtips, hair dryers, spray deodorants, hair products, moisturizers. There are full sized towels and face towels available, and plastic bags to put your dirty clothes in. There is a water fountain to refill your reuseable water bottle. There is also lockers to store your items that allow you to set your own combination.

It was super easy to sign up and book online ahead of time, I like that you can pick your seat too. I thought the $10 for the first class was super reasonable so I decided to give it a try. There's no need to tuck in your shoes laces because they provide world class Giro clip on shoes for you to wear, it's included with the class. I thought that was a very nice touch for safety as I've heard horror stories about laces getting caught in the machines and destroying shoes. The class is up beat, it's loud, there are ear plugs available at the front. I personally did not find it too loud but just right. It is a little tight inside but once you're on your bike you're ready to go. Arrive 10 minutes before class begins to check in, set your belongings inside a complimentary keyed locker and to put your Giro shoes on. Once you're inside the class room there will be assistance to help get your bike seat set and explain a few things. Fresh towel awaits you at your bike. Even if you're seated the whole time as long as you're pedaling you'll still feel a burn. The instructor was so enthusiastic and firm while remaining welcoming and easy going to all. I had a lot of fun and I recommend this class to anyone who is seeking a new way to maintain a healthy body. The class seemed a little intimidating but I signed up anyway and it was nice to know that there were a few other first timers in the class. There's tons of beautiful clothing for purchase inside. They also provide a filtered water filling station for your water bottle. There are showers and bathrooms which I saw fill up after the class. You will sweat a lot so be prepared! Have fun!

It's a complete gong show in between two classes, lots of people going in and out, and waiting to use the washroom. That's not a very relaxing, grounding way to start a class. The yoga instructor didn't introduce herself, and didn't ask if anyone is injured. Throughout the class, she didn't provide modification in postures besides chaturanga. Towards the last 10-15 minutes, because people are waiting for next class outside, the wind down and savasana portion was getting pretty loud, definitely not how I want to end a class.

I love Courtney's class in particular because her instructions are super clear and her flows are both fun and challenging! I find that my mind is so focused on what I'm doing that the hour just flies by. I always leave feeling much more positive than when I came in. Fast and Furious (Courtney): Intense fitness class that involves weights, bands, and a pilates ball. This workout is great when you want to incorporate more cardio moves and push your limits! -- This class always fills up, so make sure you book your spot in advance on the Mindbody app. Bootcamp Fusion (Carla): Circuit class (about 20 stations) incorporating HIIT cardio, weights, and body weight exercises. Love this class because she plays fun and current music. -- No yoga mat required I encourage everyone to switch up their workouts by trying out some classes at oxygen! You can try their newbie promo ($10 for 1 week unlimited) and see if these types of workouts suit your lifestyle :)

This morning, I showed up to a 7:15 a.m. class to learn I'd accidentally registered for class the day before. Busy, working, single mom, mistakes happen. I was told, no problem, there is a spot in the class available - that will just be $37! When there is an empty space and I missed my class and I pay for a membership and already booked and paid for an extra class this week on top of my membership. I've taken over 500 classes with this studio and they'd rather let the class have an empty spot then let a loyal customer make up a class she's showed up to take. It just feels like a kick in the face every time I interact with reception. It's a great workout and two blocks from my house. But I just cannot continue to support a business that treats its customers so badly.

It also be safer and less frustrating for newbies. Alternatively, in regular classes, additional modifications, as well as lighter spring loads, should be offered to those who appear to be struggling. The best thing about these classes is that the are only 40 minutes long! They pack a lot of training into this time. Frankly, any longer, and I don't think I would make it. Make sure you cool down and stretch on your own after class as this is not included. Muscle through the first few classes and I guarantee you will enjoy it. They often offer beginner packages too so ask!!

They have self check-in, which is always nice. The change room is universal and the overall facilities are not huge, so there's no actual dedicated changing area or stalls. This is why they tell you to come already in your workout clothes, which is fine in summer but not great in winter when a lot of people don't want to be walking around in shorts. There were two shower stalls but they were out of order. One of two sinks was also out of order. There are two bathrooms, each is quite roomy. The coat/shoe area has cubbies, hooks and rubber mats for shoes. There is also a hydration station for filling water bottles and a water fountain. This area needs to be swept between classes as there was tons of debris on the floor, and at this point, no shoes are allowed. All gym equipment is provided except for mats- weights, toning balls, yoga blocks, bands and weighted bars. This is great because some locations do not provide this equipment. The studio itself is a bit strange as it's a giant long and narrow room. It is completely mirrored, but depending on where you are situated, I don't see how the instructor could be in view. The room, though, is more functional than the Smithe location and there was definitely less crowding, which is a huge plus. The instructor, Carla, was really good. She made sure to check if anyone had any injuries and she also made the stretch section more like a yoga flow, so it was less boring than normal. It was not the most difficult class, but it was challenging enough with the heat on.

I was scared at first because I'm not a fan of Yoga and I've never tried a hot class before. But I am so glad I took the chance! I was immediately introduced at the front desk. The front desk person was kind and not threatening like some other places. She walked me through what to expect and how to sign in. Down the stairs is the room, cubbies, washrooms, water, and lounge area (Note: there are no lockers so leave your stuff at your own risk). Bring your own mats and towel and WATER! Cause you are going to sweat and then some. I tried the Hot Amazing Abs, Legs & Butts by Molly and she is so inspiring. She pushes you to your max but is also really patient and doesn't force you or judge you during the class. If you need a time out, take one. I needed to leave 3 times to refill my water. The class was fast paced and easy to understand. She demonstrates how to do the moves and then walks around to make sure you got it. She also provides a ton of additional exercises if you have an injury. By the end of the class, you are drenched and exhausted but also exhilarated. Molly also checked in with us to make sure we were ok and to drink more water! Since this karma week, I have been back several times. Molly has been my faveorite class/instructor but I'm so excited to try more!

    This is a fantastic gym!…read more The owner, Greg, is very approachable. I moved to Vancouver about a year ago and he was very helpful in getting the administrative side of my account changed. Greg is frequently in the club, often working out with his son! The club has very nice equipment and there is plenty to choose from; For cardio there are Bikes (both recumbent and upright), elliptical, ergs, stair steppers, treadmills, and more. For lifting there are free weights, various isolation machines, multiple squat racks, kettle bells, smith machine, and more. If you're into Plyo there is an entire studio of equipment you can use. Some of the more niche gear like a hack-squat is missing, but if you're well seasoned at the gym or ask an anytime trainer, there are plenty of other exercises that work similar muscles. I will say, there is a rush hour, on no fault of the gym. It's not unmanageable, but if you're an introvert the right after work time might not be right for you. All other times, especially early mornings are quite manageable. A month or so ago my workouts were more sluggish than ever, and I remembered what it felt like to really kill a workout, so I made an appointment for a personal trainer--Lucy! Lucy has a great repertoire of exercises--every workout with her is motivating and I am always completely drenched in sweat! With Lucy I have gained confidence not only in my physical abilities by emotionally. She's the true definition of a COACH. If you're looking for a reasonably priced, clean gym with a great location (just off the SkyTrain), I highly recommend this gym!
