I highly recommend Kommunity for Vancouver locals, as well as visitors. If you're just dropping in like I was, I'd suggest having a solid basic fitness level and some familiarity with weights. Although the coaches are awesome, the class moves quickly and wouldn't be suited to somebody who needs a lot of support. Looking forward to returning next time I'm in Vancouver!

Classes are 50-minute circuit-style workouts with HIIT, strength, and cardio spread out across different stations. We did FIERCE (K-HIIT) with Ali Martinez, who gave us first timers a quick rundown of the gym before class. The class started with a warmup before we split off into our assigned stations, which included the SkiErg, rower, box jumps, weighted squats, ladders, and sandbags, among others. Most stations had two different exercises for some additional variety. Aside from the instructor's choice station, all stations had the respective workout playing on screen which made it easier to follow along. There were even motivational quotes and footage playing as you moved across stations! I also appreciated the end tables at each station because we could leave our water bottle and towel there, while also having a spray bottle readily available. The energy level was high throughout the class with the fist-bumping music and Ali's encouragement. I loved that there was a cooldown at the end with the roller to really target our sore spots. The mint towel at the end was the cherry on top! As Kommunity is on the pricier side (e.g. $435/month for unlimited), I would at least try the free first timer class and perhaps wait on a monthly promotion. That said, Kommunity takes the best parts of its competitors and meshes it into one sleek, modern gym - from F45 with its stations and video demos, to Barry's with its music and lights, to House with its lounge and merch, and to Equinox with its mint towels. Other amenities include lockers, a water bottle filling station, restrooms, and wifi.

Class Structure: Many hills and repeats. The music is more electronic or club-like music. If you enjoy singing along to pop music this studio may not be the best for you. There was 25 mins of cycling, 10-15 mins of upper body weights in the cycling saddle, and ended on "all out" cycling movements for last 10-15 mins. They provide you with cycling shoes which is a nice touch if you are travelling or dont own your pair. The class had a nice aesop-like smell with candles that added to the ambience. Instructors: My instructor was Kiki who has so much energy and was so motivating. She definetly had one of the best vibes of an instructor in a long time from my experiences. Music: The music was definitely on the VERY loud side. If thats is not your preference there are complimentary ear plugs for those who prefer to have less loud music. The loudness of the music did make it hard to hear the instructor at times. Amenities: One of the nicest studios in terms of amenities. There is a unisex change room with toilets and showers. All bath products are aesop. The vanity/mirror area is well equipped with cotton qtips, hair dryers, spray deodorants, hair products, moisturizers. There are full sized towels and face towels available, and plastic bags to put your dirty clothes in. There is a water fountain to refill your reuseable water bottle. There is also lockers to store your items that allow you to set your own combination.

It was super easy to sign up and book online ahead of time, I like that you can pick your seat too. I thought the $10 for the first class was super reasonable so I decided to give it a try. There's no need to tuck in your shoes laces because they provide world class Giro clip on shoes for you to wear, it's included with the class. I thought that was a very nice touch for safety as I've heard horror stories about laces getting caught in the machines and destroying shoes. The class is up beat, it's loud, there are ear plugs available at the front. I personally did not find it too loud but just right. It is a little tight inside but once you're on your bike you're ready to go. Arrive 10 minutes before class begins to check in, set your belongings inside a complimentary keyed locker and to put your Giro shoes on. Once you're inside the class room there will be assistance to help get your bike seat set and explain a few things. Fresh towel awaits you at your bike. Even if you're seated the whole time as long as you're pedaling you'll still feel a burn. The instructor was so enthusiastic and firm while remaining welcoming and easy going to all. I had a lot of fun and I recommend this class to anyone who is seeking a new way to maintain a healthy body. The class seemed a little intimidating but I signed up anyway and it was nice to know that there were a few other first timers in the class. There's tons of beautiful clothing for purchase inside. They also provide a filtered water filling station for your water bottle. There are showers and bathrooms which I saw fill up after the class. You will sweat a lot so be prepared! Have fun!

I asked if I could at least have a water from the refrigerator so I could stop the swelling and she did grant me that (but I had to give it back). I reported this and asked if I could end my contract but they did not allow me so I paid FOR AN ENTIRE YEAR. It's a year and a half later now and I'm still recovering from this. I'm still getting, "We miss you" emails from them which has engorged my rage and prompted me to warn others about this. If this doesn't stop you from signing up, check out their hours. They are absolutely HORRIBLE. For a person with regular work hours, not convenient at all. Unless you like live like right next door. Oh, yeah, another issue I had was I moved to Vancouver suddenly, like a week after signing up. Nope. Not convenient at all. They rope you in with this "woman safe space" which is complete BS when they obviously don't care about you, even when you get injured RIGHT IN FRONT OF THEM.

But there was a guy Richard who seems to have some sort of personality disorder (sometimes super sweet and kind and then switches to a sort of psyhcho bully persona). Richard has a terrible, confusing teaching and communication style so he'd be awfull as a weightlifting coach. They also had another younger woman there who was problematic. Overall its a good facility, but they should vet the trainers a bit better for social skills.

I fulfilled my obligation by cancelling in person, and the failure to process it was entirely on their end. Expecting additional fees after their oversight is just bad business ESPECIALLY when they can see I haven't been to their gym in OVER A YEAR!!! Good - 10 visit punchcard ($54.00 + GST) - this is the cost with a Be Active Pass card - 2 squash courts and 3 table tennis tables - Squash league ($18.00 to spare (up to 3 games), $63.00 for part time (up to 8 games) and $147.00 for full time) - Large multi-purpose gym for volleyball, badminton, basketball, soccer, etc. - Multiple drop-in times for sports (ie. Friday volleyball is very popular) - Less than 10 minute walk from the Metrotown skytrain - A couple of EV charging stations ($2.00/hour) Bad - Archaic booking system (no online booking system available. You have to call to book a squash/racquetball court) - Half the time when you call, staff doesn't answer - Downstairs weight room is cramped - 1 combo court (normally used for squash or racquetball but they currently refuse to move it) - 50% of the time the men's shower facilities don't have body wash You get what you pay for at Bonsor. Don't expect much and it does the trick.

They made false accusations, shouted at him without cause, punished him with arbitrary "time-outs," and consistently treated him with disrespect. Their behavior was not only inappropriate but also harmful. As a parent, I find this completely unacceptable. Children should feel safe, supported, and encouraged--not shamed, blamed, or bullied by the very people entrusted to care for them.
