Great staff, great classes, great studio! They seem to really know their stuff! I've taken 2 classes now with my friend Megan who is an instructor there, and she is so encouraging! Her classes are tough, but, as she tells people before she starts, no-one knows what your tension dial is at. Do the best you can, no shame! Free coffee in the early morning and on weekends. Clean bathrooms, nice bright space. Water service, towel service, and an off-bike weight session after the ride. Overall, definitely recommend for anyone looking to get into spin! read more

I recently just rejoined @CadenceVan after a long break from working out in general. They have a great new client special and their ongoing monthly unlimited rate is extremely reasonable if you want to carry on (which I am sure you will!) BRAND NEW Bikes, Shoes, towels, morning coffees are included and what I Love LOVE is that while on your ride they will refill your water bottle on call PLUS deliver a cool minty towel if you find you are getting hot (which I am sure you will!) As for the rides themselves, their style is to focus on proper alignment, and safe ride while encouraging you to push hard but also go at your own pace. The music is loud and the room is dark, as it should be. Your riding neighbors won't notice you sweating and breathing hard this way ;) I've never had a problem finding parking on West 6th and the classes are conveniently scheduled in the morning and the evenings. I don't even like spin classes that much because I bike commute everywhere, but the instructors, owners, and the studio dog (CHEWY!!) are friendly, smart, and witty. Absolutely the BEST place in Vancouver for spinning, its all they do. They supply the shoes, towels, water, fresh fruit and breath mints. Favorite teachers: Mike (owner), Ashley and Natasha, high energy and amazing music (which will make or break a class for me). Lights are turned off for the entire class (at least all of the evening ones I go to), so you can really get into your own workout and forget about everyone else around you, its just you, the music and a killer workout. read more

Feeling sloppy with my fitness routine and wanting to change things up, I googled my way around Vancouver's fitness classes, and finally found Cadence. I've never "spun" before, and I like new things and challenges, so I thought I'd give it a try. Turned out, the first class is free so it was perfect for newbies like me to check it out! At first I couldn't find the studio, because there was some scaffolding up and it's a bit tucked away at the back of the building. But I saw some quite sweaty people coming out of there, so I figured that must be it :) I walked in and was so nicely welcomed that I felt like "I've been going here for years!" I got some click-clack shoes, and my instructor helped me figure out the scary bike and even set the height and everything for me. There's unlimited shoe, water and towel supply which is a plus, especially for people like me who forget to pack these things on the daily basis. The class started and our instructor was super energetic, the music was great and the fact that the lights were dimmed helped me to not get distracted by what other people are doing but to really focus on myself and my workout. Even though you're basically just pedaling for an hour, it never became boring. We were sitting and speeding, standing up and "going up a hill" or sprinting, all with matching music. It was super fun! After the workout, our instructor came up to me to see how I liked it and I really appreciated her asking about me and even remembering my name. Another big plus is the studio dog which was the cutest, calmest Golden Retriever I've ever seen and cuddled with! I really recommend trying it out, you'll get a great workout out of it :) read more

I'm new to Vancouver and still trying out new classes. I'd done spin a few times before, but Shirley really kicked my butt! She teaches the Friday night classes at 5:30 which worked great for my sweat date with my wife. Mike, the owner, was very friendly and welcoming. He came right over to me when I walked in and introduced himself then helped me get my bike set up. During the class, there was another instructor that was available if you needed any help with your bike or if you needed your water filled up...what service!! I highly recommend this studio if you are in need of a great workout! Great job, Mike. You have built a great vibe to your spin studio. ;) read more

I started attending spinning classes at the local community centres and it didn't take long to get 'addicted' to the cardio and I have enjoyed them and the diversity of each instructor. Eventually you begin to follow the favourites and make a point to attend their specific class times. Sooner or later the best instructors leave or schedules change and you find yourself stuck finding class times that work with your schedule as well. I had been researching different spin classes throughout the Lower Mainland and kept coming back to Cadence Cycling Studio each time. I signed up for the complimentary session a few months ago and had been putting it off ... partly due to my own lack of confidence and the idea of a designated spin studio, most likely filled with hard bodies and hard core indoor cyclists. Finally, I made the decision and booked myself to attend Ashley's class on a Thursday evening. I have been to hundreds of classes and let me tell you, it was AMAZING!! It was a sweat like no other and I was soaked! The high energy, the motivation, the music and Ashley...there aren't enough words to describe her. She was flawless. The room was pitch black and it becomes about you and your bike. All your fears and insecurities disappear when you are pushing yourself along with the instructor who took each of us through our own personal ride. The experience is something that you will not regret and quite honestly, something you should treat yourself to! I will definitely be back for a few classes and decide on which package to buy. The staff and overall vibe of the studio is casual and friendly and very comfortable. Any insecurities and doubt were left in the pool of sweat on the floor. Highly recommend!! read more

Can't believe no one yelped about this studio yet! My first time today was great! Great location and atmosphere, clean, bright studio! Music was way better than some of the spinning places I've been to in Vancouver. The instructor was really energetic and pushed us to our max level! it was like the celeb packed spinning studios in california, you know, good music, good vibe. Definitely felt the burn, will do the monthly membership for sure! my legs were definitely shaky when i was walking to my car! Now I can eat whatever i want on the weekend without feeling guilty! the studio dog was super cute, makes spinning a lot desirable when you stare at him during some hard climbs. only thing is i wish they had another shower stall. but when it doesn't get busy its all good! definitely the best spinning studio in Vancouver! read more

Have been to many spin classes around Vancouver--Rep1, Ron Zalko, UBC Birdcoop, community centres, etc. Cadence cycling is far and away the best. This is a dedicated spinning studio--not an after thought after building a gym. They have biking shoes that you can use, towel service, bananas to refuel after class and great service. All schedules can be viewed AND booked online. Mike runs a great class and the whole atmosphere is really good. Will be going back for more... read more

I was never one for group exercise classes, like step aerobics. But the gym I was going to brought in a "power pacing" class and slowly became intrigued. I tried my first class there in May of 2011, and was immediately hooked. There were only a few classes offered a week, if only a few people showed up the class would be cancelled on the spot, etc. The gym management decided to cancel classes entirely for a month around Christmas of 2011. Hillcrest Community Centre was an option, but reserving a bike was a bit of a dodgy business. I had heard rumour of a dedicated spinning facility somewhere off Broadway that was, as this lady put it "truly hardcore". I Googled "spinning Vancouver" and Cadence's name came up. I came to Cadence for my complimentary first class, and was put at ease immediately by the attitude here, and shortly after that, by the instructor's professionalism and enthusiasm. My first "customer experience" was nothing short of extraordinary. At last, I felt "stoked" again. So, I signed up. Now, I come for 5 to 6 classes a week, and do weight work one day a week. At Cadence, I'm inspired to work harder, be better, to push my limits and go beyond my comfort zone. I'm inspired to eat healthier, and now eat far less meat and processed foods, more vegetarian and vegan choices. I'm down to 182 pounds, but am not obsessed about my weight, because I'm so pleased with my overall appearance, health, and vitality. I'm wearing a size 31 waist now! read more

I was very disappointed. I don't think I'll be rushing back. The place was loud, staff unpleasant and the guy who appeared to be the owner was in some sort of an argument with tenants in the building. Not comfortable at all. read more

Great cycling studio, nice space and parking isn't too difficult depending on the time of day you're there. Good music, high energy classes. You will be VERY sweaty afterwards. Fresh fruit afterwards is a nice add-on. Mike's classes (the owner) are the best - he's very motivating. Love this spin studio. read more

The classes are high energy, super fun and an amazing workout. Instructors are friendly and motivating. This was my first time at Cadence. Pay parking out front and it's tucked away in a fancy motel-looking walk thru building. I'm glad I followed another girl who had been there before cuz I might have gotten lost! I took advantage of their 'first class is free' promotion and signed up a few days before. They are super friendly and give you cycling shoes upon check in and a fresh towel is waiting for you on the bike. It was a packed class, probably at least 24 bikes in the class. Its a bit tight navigating around the bikes but once you're on a bike it feels more spacious. They turn off the lights during the class and the strip lighting on the floor that runs along the perimeter of the room comes on and makes for a nice, calming atmosphere. I had Francis as an instructor, she was awesome! Very clear in her direction and pleasant to listen to. Music was great and perfect tempo. read more

As a high performance athlete these classes offer you a high quality workout that pushes you to where you want to be. I find the classes efficient, high energy and challenging. The music is a good variety and the instructors bring a great amount of motivation and expertise. I have done many spin classes and many hard interval workouts and Cadence Spin is up there with the best, plus they give you free bananas after class : SOLD. read more

Rarely write reviews, but the customer service (or serious lack thereof) I experienced at Cadence was nothing short of atrocious!

First and last visit. After getting setup on a bike I was told by 'Mike' that earbud headphones were not allowed as all participants must follow whatever and however the instructor says and does. I politely explained to him that as a distance cyclist for many years I was looking for a space I could sit in the back row and just ride for an hour. He told me this was then not the place for me and asked me to leave. I have never in my cycling career been treated by anyone at such a facility as I was treated today. I found the attitude offensive and rude and completly against what fitness related businesses are there to encourage, which is fitness. This was not a group or organized event. Most places encourage participants todo what they can and go at their pace. This studio seems to think they are god's gift to Vancouver and I assure you they are not. I will never go there or reccomend them to anyone as tday's experience has certainly left a poor taste. I would give them a 0 star rating however you have to select at least one star to submit the review. AVIOD AVOID AVOID. read more
