I am giving this SPIN location a 4 but really feel it deserves a 3.5 for food quality. I've eaten at several SPIN locations in the metro and this is my least favorite location. I typically order the mini Mia - a great deal - which includes a small personal pizza and side salad. I typically get the margarita pizza (whole wheat crust) or Bbq chicken pizza and 8 color salad or arugula salad. The food at this location is never as good as the Lenexa SPIN....but...the restaurant is basically identical, reasonably clean and staffed with friendly folks. I ordered lunch two days ago and ended up waiting 25 min (not the quoted 15). I brought a friend a mini Mia as well and ordered theirs with a gluten free crust which they enjoyed. read more

Ordered double pepperoni with black olives and Italian sausage as extras. There might have been a total of two to three olives sliced and a tablespoon of sausage sprinkled on the pizza. The box was soaked through the bottom with oil! This amount of oil contributed to a soggy crust. This was our first (and needless to say our last) visit to Spin in Lees Summit. read more

After spending a long day at st. Lukes hospital all my mother and I wanted was some food that wasn't from a vending machine. The sign and patio looked cute so we went in. The menu was straightforward with a lot of great ingredients and the prices were phenomenal. We both ordered the pizza combo, your own pizza a salad or soup and a drink, only 2 more dollars if you wanted beer or wine with it. The salad can be any of their specialty salads and they have 2 soups to choose from. My mom ordered their minestrone and I had a salad with grapes, apples, walnuts, goat cheese and blood orange vinaigrette. The pizzas were all handmade and delicious. The pizza is really good and came out nice and hot. However, I got a salad pizza combo... By putting the salad next to the pizza on the same plate it caused my salad to become wilted and warm rather than crisp and cool. That was disappointing. That said the flavor of the pizza was great. For under 9 bucks I got a great side salad full of pecans, raisins and other goodies with an excellent dressing along with an excellent 6 inch two topping Pizza and drink. All ingredients were fresh and wholesome tasting - I had goat cheese and chicken sausage on my pizza. The flat bread appetizer with 3 dips was fantastic. My brother was in town from Berkeley, California and he said it was the only place in Lee's Summit that had reminded him of home. The Pistachio ice-cream (gellato?) was 5 star all the way and very affordable. Two of us ate there with appetizer, sodas, salads and desert for under 30 bucks. Service was friendly and uplifting. I am a frequent diner at Spin Pizza, dine in and carry out. I have noticed over the past year that they have been stingy with their ingredients. When I order a salad to go I am almost always disappointed at how little lettuce I see when i get home and open the box. I ate lunch at Spin today and ordered the 8 color salad. When it came out, there were hardly any toppings. I called the waiter over to show him and asked if I could have some extra Bleu cheese and pine nuts. He returned with a container with six pine nuts in it. SIX pine nuts! I am disappointed in this restaurant and intend to find a new place for my girlfriends and I to have our lunches. -I was contacted the day I wrote the original review. I appreciate good customer service and was pleased that they apologized and said that they would talk to their staff. read more

Great place. It is really hard to find good food in Lees Summit and this is one of our go to places. Love the food. They mess up the order sometimes, but they are really nice about it and fix it and stuff. The pizza is super delicious and the salads are top of the line. Atmosphere good. We have ate on the patio for several years now because the food and service was great. Last night was our first patio experience this year. The food and wine were great But the music was very loud. We requested that it be turned down yet it was turned up instead. We again requested it be turned down and it was yet it was still louder than the original level. Came in a little unorganized seeing as how none of my group had been there more than once. The pizza was delicious. Better than the first time I had been there for sure! I was a little disappointed with the menu though. Our waiter was polite and helpful. But the lady who originally took our order at the front, RUDE!! There's a word we use for people like her. I keep coming back to this location, because the food is great and the people are friendly. Never they fail to greet me when I walk in or ask how we're doing. Our lovely server today, Katherine, was attentive and quick in getting our meals. We asked for help from Nanari also and even if she wasn't our server, she helped us right away. I wish I could give a lower rating. A friend and I went to Spin Pizza this evening and had the worst customer service experience. My friend arrived at 8:30pm and I arrived 10 minutes afterwards. We chose to sit at the bar. My friend was able to order a beverage before I had arrived. While sitting at the bar we watched one staff member changing the gelato, another staff member cleaning glasses and three other staff members standing around talking. No one approached me to see if I had wanted to order anything nor did anyone look our way. After an hour, one staff member approached my friend and asked if he would like another beverage and or a glass of water and maintained her focus on my friend, never looked my way nor did she ask if I would like anything. My friend responded by saying no and he had to ask me if I wanted anything due to the server not acknowledging me. At this point I had made up my mind that I no longer wanted to patronize this establishment. I told my friend that I was ready to go when we was finished. We sat for another 30 minutes before anyone came over to give him his tab. What bothered me the most was that there were 5 staff members in front of us and yet NO ONE thought to check to see if we needed anything. As we were getting ready to leave a large party was entering and all of the staff quickly greeted them and attended to their needs. My friend and I are both African- American and we seemed to be the only people in the establishment not being served in a timely manner. I'm truly disgusted at the lack of service and treatment that I received. A major part of one's dining experience is the customer service by the staff. Based on tonight's experience we have decided that we can no longer patronize a place that will not recognize or serve it's customers in a timely manner. Best pizza place period. Hummus is better than Jerusalem cafe. Salads perfect. Our goto place. The pizza crust is light, artisan style and backed in the clay oven with the fire going you can see. I've found the Lee's Summit location is bigger and nicer in side. Always get the personal pizza and salad and so does my wife, then we trade pizza pieces. The details in the decor are amazing. Even the bathroom was well thought out to the finest detail. Look up and take a nice look at the woodwork. It is a piece of art and nothing else like it. For all of the complaints about feeling rushed to order....suggestion. Grab a couple menus when you walk in, grab a seat and take your time. Then walk up to the counter and order when you figure out what you want. I watch people do it all the time and that is why there is a stack of menus sitting there when you walk in. You also have the option to customize a pizza, you don't have to order their picks. Although i do recommend the sausage chicken bbq pizza. read more

Our first time at this location, after several times downtown. Very similar but also very busy, in a strip mall. Friendly, but overwhelmed service here. We sat outside and had to endure the same woman, coming out and smoking on the patio where we were, repeatedly. At the end of our meal, her skanky friend came and smoked a horrific cigar or something, right near us. We asked her to move, but she didn't. The smell was so overpowering that I felt sick and we had to move. We complained to our server, who got a manager who said it wasn't permitted and asked them to leave but for some reason, they were belligerent. Why don't people have common decency and respect the rules of an establishment? My sister in law is handicapped and ill but these people insisted on being rude and defiant for no reason. Spin really needs signs and enforcement of the rules regarding smoking on and near the patio. No wonder we were the only ones out there! The food is excellent, authentic wood-fired pizza with fresh ingredients. The salads are equally fresh and nicely executed. The gelato is as good as I have had in Italy. Unfortunately, the clientele here seems to think it is Pizza Hut and the service and management needs work. read more

SPIN! reminds me of Il Vicino in Colorado Springs. I love wood fired pizzas. SPIN!'s salsiccia pizza doesn't compare to Il Vicino, but their Pollo e pesto is fantastic. I look forward to trying more pizza and the Pizza Mia deal is a win. read more

The kitchen was running behind over an hour, and even when we told them we were in a rush when we walked in, they didn't let us know that. We had to remind the waitress countless times what our order was after already waiting for an hour. They slowly brought out some of our salads one by one, then after waiting for an hour and 15 minutes, we walked over to the kitchen and it turns out they lost our ticket and didn't tell us. Thin crust authentic pizza in Lee's Summit! I love this place. Fresh dough, made in an exposed stone oven with incredible ingredients and toppings. Also great Panini's , salads and soups, all made in house. And I love the atmosphere. It doesn't feel like you're in the suburbs, rather in an urban setting. This was our first trip to this location and the experience is just as good as it was when we visited the Crown Center location several weeks ago. My wife and I shared the Chopped BLT salad which came with a wonderful Gorgonzola buttermilk dressing. Our pizza was the Tre Carni ( Italian sausage, meatballs, and pepperoni ) on their original crust with red sauce and mozzarella. Great toppings and an even greater crust. We also shared some Swiss Chocolate gelato for dessert and it was terrific. Great service and the food came out in no time. read more

I love this pizza! I love the wood fire oven that cooks the Neapolitan style of pizza. The topping combinations are very interesting (I last ordered the proscuitto, fig marmalade and spinach) and tasty. The salads are always fresh with many choices. My wife and I went here on the evening of January 23rd. She went to order but due to a foot injury I could not stand so I found a table and sat down. A couple minutes later a female employee asked if I had someone in line. I said my wife was ordering and would be here soon. She ordered me to leave the table since I did not have my food yet. I told her that if she made me leave the table, I would leave the restaurant and never come back. She asked threateningly if she needed to go get the manager. I said, yes, get the manager. She left so I called my wife on the cell phone and told her what happened. She said for us to just leave so we did. We used to be regulars of Spin Pizza in Lees Summit, MO but not any more. The management should be ashamed to order an employee to treat an AARP customer with an injured foot like this. They should post a sign that says "You will be seated by a hostess after you order". With no signs or posted instructions, they have absolutely no right to order me to leave a table like that. Caution to all, do not give this restaurant any business. A huge apology is owed me and my wife. Just unbelievable they would do this. How awful!!! read more
