I got a cauliflower crust pizza and my husband got a regular. We "shared" a half salad (LOL). Pizza was great, salad was too, but $9 for a salad that could fit in the palm of my hand?!? $1 for a single pice of salami cut into 4 pieces? Good food; not so good value.

Roasted red pepper/ Hummus appetizer dish...

Great environment, not too busy on a weekday early evening. Staff are friendly and responsive. Meatballs are awesome and when hot, the cheese filling should be stringy. The hummus appetizer dish was poorly plated - use a smaller plate please. Cucumbers were frozen or had "fridge burn", and the olives were strewn about. I asked for a to go box for the hummus since the meatballs were sufficiently filling and I got what asked for... a pizza box. Really? To put the hummus, tomatoes, olives, bread and cucumber and feta? Not too bright. It's still my neighborhood choice for go-to pizza.

Straight up, I love SPIN! Pizza. I don't know if I truly appreciated it until I scoured the food scene high and low and realized it's so hard to find a well-priced, consistent place that also offers amazing salads. In fact I could just order salads here and be alright, but throw in some tasty "Mini Mia" sized personal pizzas and I'm all in. The Lawrence location is out west in an area I don't go as often as I used to, but is convenient for those in the Free State HS neighborhoods. It's as easy-going and quick as the other locations that I go to. My personal rec is to get a Mini-Mia combo with literally any of the salads (Spinach, 8-Color and BLT jump out) and then for pizza I like the sausage and apple pizza. It has a fancier name than that, but c'mon it's early in the morning man, I can't think of that. Gelato here is also bomb, and you can get a small that won't make you feel like you're overdoing it. Keep doin' your thing Spin, it's always for the win.

Nice assortment of options - carnivore husband & Grandson loved various meat choices for pizza. I was pleased that they tried and enjoyed the eggplant appetizer too! I thoroughly enjoyed my mini duo garlic spinach pizza & Greek salad. Spin offers different crust options, to include hand tossed, gluten free, and cauliflower crust. We had the hand tossed and it was great, but the cauliflower crust sounded very interesting - may have to give that one a try next time.

Gluten free sausage pizza (Extra Cheese)

I paid $18 for a 10" Gluten after pizza with 1 topping, extra cheese and this is what I received. It's horrible pizza, certainly not worth the price. Half of the pizza was hard and ends were burnt. Barely any cheese even after paying for extra, because they have skimped on cheese before. I also requested extra sauce on the size and didn't receive. This has happened same exact situation before, but I decided I would try them again and will not purchase pizza from them again, very disappointing. They have amazing Gelato, which we purchase often and still will, the atmosphere is great, and staff is nice and helpful, but the pizza is not good at all unfortunately.

Spin, you won our hearts over last night, and then some. In January we attended a Yelp Elite event here and had talked about returning for months but just never made it. Of interest, even though we are not vegans or vegetarians, we were so impressed by the vegan pizza we tasted we had to verify. Was it possible it was really that good? But first, a hitch in our meal, and all my fault. Walked in and assumed there was only one type of vegan pizza so ordered along with a couple of red vinos and a nice salad and was assigned a cheese pizza. We were after the Primavera, so when our order came out and the server saw the look of confusion when I asked if this was our order, she checked. A manager came by and we had a discussion about what we thought we'd ordered. I explained we'd attended an Elite event here several months ago and had wanted to retry the pizza from that experience. What happened next was pretty unbelievable. "I was working that night, we served the gluten free, vegetarian Primavera" she said. I remember you both because you arrived an hour later than everyone else, right?!," she said with a smile on her face. Bingo. Yes, we DID arrive an hour late because we had our start time screwed up (apparently something we only do an Spin, screw up things). She proceeds to give us the cheese pizza on the house and has a Primavera delivered to the table. Yea, it was as good as we remembered, but this is service beyond what is reasonable to be expected and then some. Whoever that lady is, Spin corporate, she's worth a million bucks and then some. Someone needs to point out the importance of customer service. I just did, and now it's Spin's turn. We will be back, forever fans of the people working there and the most excellent foods they serve.

I love a lot of spots around the metro, but let's be honest, some of them get crazy busy and you end up waiting in line for a while. That's not a dealbreaker, but with a summer of social distancing, it's nice to have a spot like Annedore's that is tucked into the neighborhoods, has outdoor seating, and is never too busy. Their gelato is so good, and the service is friendly as it gets. We've made a tradition of walking up here as a family once a week, and together we've ordered or sampled: Cookies & Cream, Birthday Cake, Mint Chip, Chocolate Chip, Coconut, Strawberry, Berry Sorbet, Vanilla, and Lemon Basil. All are great (not crazy about the birthday cake one my kiddo always gets), the Berry Sorbet and Lemon Basil are standouts on a hot day. Their portions are generous, prices are very fair, the outdoor seating is great, and it's a very clean shop. Oh, and I recently discovered that macarons are delicious, and theirs are some of the best around. They're around $2.50 a pop and well worth it. I cannot recommend this place enough for gelato, macarons, and of course chocolate if that's your thing. Want to skip lines for ice cream (well, gelato) this summer and still support local? This is your spot. Bookmark it!

There's 4 street parking stalls out front on Johnson Dr. The inside is clean & AC was nice on hot days. The girl behind the counter was nice & gave us samples of the gelato that we were curious about. Wifey selected a med cup of dark chocolate and strawberry. I got the med cup with pistachio and coconut. We watched the girl making our cups and noticed she gave more of one flavor than the other in each of our cups. I was a lil disappointed about that. It ended up being 2/3 dark chocolate and 1/3 strawberry in wifey's cup. There was 2/3 pistachio and 1/3 coconut in mine. I like even amounts if you're gonna have a cup with 2 flavors. Lil bit of one flavor mixed with the second flavor. I ended up with a bit more pistachio than I expected. Wifey definitely had more dark chocolate than strawberry. I think next time we'll ask if they can scoop closer to even amounts of each. Although the total amount of gelato was more than worth the cost. We did sit inside since outside was pretty hot and almost no breeze. The place had 3 tables. One had seating for 4 and the other 2 had seating for 2 each. When we entered one of the 2 seater tables had 2 ladies that were jus sitting there with drinks and talking and laughing really loudly. It was echoing in the small room. Other than that it was nice in that cozy lil shop. We liked how the girl behind the counter was patient and welcomed us when we told her it was our first time there. I wanna try some other combos next time. This place reminds me of the lil gelato place we liked back home in Hawaii. A Hui Hou!

The restaurant itself is beautiful inside -- a cozy mix of rustic and modern that creates a really inviting atmosphere. Service started a little slow, though our waitress became more attentive once she came by. We mentioned it was our first visit, so I was a bit surprised there wasn't much guidance on the menu or any recommendations. At one point I asked about the two kinds of fries (I love fries!), and the explanation was simply that they were "fancy fries," without much detail on flavors or differences. We started with drinks and the Brussels sprouts appetizer. The sprouts were actually very good, with a nice balance in the sauce, and both the wine and sangria were refreshing. Unfortunately, dinner is where things went downhill. Our meals -- a steak and a gluten-free chicken sandwich -- took about 45 minutes to arrive, which felt long for relatively simple dishes. I had asked about the gluten-free bun since they can sometimes be dry, but didn't receive much insight beyond "it's gluten free," and sadly it was indeed very dry. The chicken itself lacked flavor, though the goat cheese cilantro sauce helped make it somewhat enjoyable. The fries looked homemade and delicious but arrived cold. The steak was cooked as requested, but it didn't have much flavor beyond the mushrooms on top. The broccoli side was tasty, and the potatoes were good, though it on a bed of Some kind of cheese sauce that wasn't quite to our liking. Overall, the space and gluten-free availability were promising, and the appetizers and drinks were enjoyable, but the food execution and service details didn't quite meet expectations for us this visit.

This isn't just another ice cream stop. The texture and richness are immediately noticeable, and it quickly becomes clear you're trying something more refined and thoughtfully made than the typical scoop shop experience. It was an eye-opener and a reminder that even a familiar dessert can feel completely new when done at this level. The Peanut Butter Mud Pie was indulgent without being over-the-top, and the overall experience felt more like a small-batch specialty treat than a standard dessert run. Kansas City has plenty of great frozen treats, but French Custard brings something truly unique to the local scene. Definitely worth a visit if you want to try something that stands apart from the usual options.
