Really not that great. I should clarify the experience was fine, the food just wasn't very good. There's a fairly roomy selection of pizza's. Nice. We kept it simple with a pepperoni and a little risqué and added a chicken pesto. Both small since I really wanted to try the white bean hummus. Ordering was simple and the enthusiastic young man at the register was super friendly. They ran our card, but didn't charge us yet, gave us a number and took a seat near the kitchen entrance. The server was super friendly dropping off our drinks, then moments later flat bread with white bean hummus. Drinks and apps were prompt. However, the hummus wasn't really good. Watery and not flavorful. The flat bread insignificant and under baked. Not crispy, sort of sad and limp. At the perfect moment from app to entree, our Pizza's arrived. The crust was like store brand pre-made. The pepperoni lacked cheesiness and well, sufficient pepperoni. Reminiscent of a store brand frozen pizza. The chicken pesto was more flavorful, but the chicken had the consistency of processed meat, spongy & not "meaty". Both pizzas over baked and both had a weird lingering sour after note. We were immediately greeted at the door and were offered assistance with ordering. We did not need it because we have been there before and we knew what we wanted. We all ordered the mini Mia... What a great place for a date night! Quiet atmosphere with a good staff. Recommend the salad pizza combo. Pizza is a great size and cooked well so the the crust has a nice crunch to it. Disappointing experience today. We waited a long time for our to go order because they had forgotten to make one of the pizzas (I heard and watched the conversation), but they did not communicate that with us. It would have been good customer service to just acknowledge the delay. It was not busy, several staff were standing around talking about their social life, and in some cases not trying to distance themselves including a hug, and a member of staff came out from the back three times and did not have their mask covering their nose. Spin has been one of my favorites eating options due to friendly customer service and happy atmosphere. Yesterday, We were barely greeted when giving our order. The young man gave no eye contact and minimal verbal exchange. Our food was brought and the server had no personality. When we got up to leave, a staff person merely nodded to us. We ordered the three meat pizza; there was barely any sauce and the sausage tasted like freezer burn :( The only thing that was good about the pizza was the crust as it was nice and chewy. We ordered the rosemary flatbread with hummus dips; the roasted red pepper was off - it just didn't taste right. This used to be one of our favorite restaurants based on a balance of quality of food, price, and speed of service. However, after they were bought out a few months ago, the quality of the food and service went downhill and we haven't been coming as often. The pizza crust is thicker now and somehow just not as tasty, at first I thought it was a fluke but it started being consistently not as good, neither of us like it nearly as much. Was also disappointed to see the increases in price, specifically appetizers. The service was a bit more than necessary before but feels very bare bones now, we don't like getting the appetizer the same time as the meal because the food gets cold. We ordered one of their specialty pizzas (chicken and goat cheese). I paid $3 extra to add spinach. It was scheduled for pickup in30 minutes and I drove the short distance from my house to pick it up. When I got it home I opened the box to see about 6 pieces of spinach, and about 10 small cubes of chicken spread across the 14 inch pizza. The pizza was cold, dry and the crust tasted like cardboard. Came in to get my take-out order today... The person at the counter couldn't find my order and quickly grew frustrated with me for some reason. I spelled up my name multiple times but it didn't help. After a few minutes, she almost capitulated, like I mistakably ordered somewhere else. Finally, I asked if she could find my order by what I actually ordered and told her. She found it. I tried SPIN for lunch today and had the mini mia, which is a mini pizza, side salad, & drink. I liked that I could order any salad with it and it wasn't just a boring iceberg lettuce salad. I paid a little more to get the gluten free crust because it has half the carbs as the regular crust. It was pretty tasty but slightly overcooked because it was burnt on the bottom. The woman who brought it to the table noticed the black crust and asked me to check it and let her know if I wanted them to remake it. I didn't have time to have it remade so I just went ahead and ate it. Their internet was down due to an area outage and the staff just rolled with it and manually processed credit cards. They didn't freak out or act like it was burdensome at all which is unusual for young employees. The employees very friendly and knowledgeable about the food and able to answer any questions. For those with dietary restrictions.....they have vegetarian, vegan, and multiple gluten free options on the menu, as well as goat cheese, and dairy free cheese, which other pizza places don't always have. The only thing I didn't like was that this place doesn't have full table service. You wait in line to order your food at the counter, get a number and then they bring the food to you. I'm not a huge fan of eating at restaurants like this, especially when the food is a little pricey. And I'm never sure if I should tip in these types of restaurants because multiple people served me (the person who took our order at the counter, the person who brought our drinks, the person who brought our food, etc) I noticed their website has the option to order online before you go so this may be a better option for me than standing in line. It also looks like they may deliver in other markets so maybe they will do that in Lawrence sometime in the future. read more

Super pizza and salads! My mom and I each had a different combo and we shared with each other. I had the Patato (Roasted Potato) and she had the Primavera pizzas. My mom has been to Italy, liked the pizza she had there, but felt this was the best pizza she has ever had in her life! Salads are all interesting combinations of healthy ingredients. That was the best thin crust pizza i had in the USA. Today was out first time there. I had the pizza with sopressata and calabrian peppers. So, so good. The crust was crisp and tasty, the ingredients fresh and the sauce balanced. I can only recommend going there. read more

My wife and I are regulars. The staff knows us by first name and we appreciate the excellent service they offer. The pizzas and sandwiches are fantastic and you have to try the stuffed meatball and minestrone soup as they are really tasty. I like that you can personalize any dish to be made just as you like. What is happening here? Overpriced pizza, weird service style, you have to shout down a preschool aged wait staff if you need anything, and they look at you like you're a jerk if you go up to the counter to ask for something. The kid's menu featured $5 Kraft Mac and Cheese which was overlooked. When my wife complained about it the manager snapped at her "well we can't do everything". Pizza was ok, but if imma spend $30 for a pizza lunch I'd think it would be better than ok. Save yourself about half the money and get a better pizza at Papa Kenos or somewhere local. Would not choose to come back here again. Pizza was not as good as the Pie Five on south Iowa, and I would prefer all the Mass St options to Spin. Felt we overpaid for what we received and the wait staff lack of structure left us wanting for more. Good location for Rock Chalk Park visitors and they do sell booze and dessert.
