This place is like church or a therapy session with best friends. I was super nervous but I arrived early to get my mind in the game. The receptionist is super friendly she has red curly hair. She told me my bike number and where the lockers and bathroom is. I got immediately turned on by the music and decor. It represents Brooklyn really well. Jay z lil Kim and notorious b.i.g. I attended the Friday 1:15 pm class . The class is framed as a competition with oneself. We all must get up the hill though. The receptionist and instructor were really cool on reminding students how to lock and unlock their feet from the bike pedals. Shoes are provided. There is also a water filter and candles for sale up front. I felt so spiritually cleansed and accomplished after class. I walked 3 miles home. I will definitely be back. read more

If you want a good sweat & and even better vibe spiked is the place to be! The music and energy is always the best. I've been coming here (inconsistently yes) for about a year & I'm almost at 50 classes! My favorite instructor no longer works here but all of the instructors are pretty good! The place is small but mighty, always clean & smelling good. I love that Spiked is all about building community and not just people coming and going. read more

Let me set the mood real quick... The lights go down, sounds from Jay-Z, Ice Spice and a Jersey Club Mix (high school nostalgia big time) fill the room and the words 'Insult the Standard' is glowing on the wall. The instructor is guiding you through a challenging workout yet giving you all the inspiration that you need to keep going. This is what an experience at Spiked is like and to be honest I think I am hooked. This Black/women owned business deserves all the flowers! The experience will have you feeling like you're at a day party AND getting a great workout in all at the same time. The staff is friendly and the music will have you sanging the entire time. I've been to 2 classes thus far and really appreciated the focus on supporting all-levels and making everyBODY feel comfortable in the space. You can definitely tell that the heart and soul of the business is alive and well here. They offer a 'New Client Special' of 2 classes for $25 and they're also on Classpass making this workout very accessible. If you're in the NY area, run... don't walk and go take class here. What an awesome black/women- owned spin studio this is!! I'm terrified of spin classes based on previous experiences but I had such a great workout here. Everyone is so friendly, check-in is super easy, and they have lockers where you can store your belongings. The space is pretty small so don't expect locker rooms or showers or anything like that but they do what they need to do! Armande's class was super fun and challenging with a great playlist! (I'm slightly biased because I know her but still!!). Parking early on Saturday morning was super easy with lots of metered spots available in front but by 10ish the streets get busy so might be harder to park. Will definitely be back for more classes! read more

Let me start by saying i used to HATE spin classes. I've tried Soul Cycle, Flywheel (RIP) etc. You name it, i tried it and hated it. Same moves, it's like every instructor has the same copy & paste routine. and Why does the music always sound like your shopping at Macys? Who gets motivated by that? not me lol Let me not drag it lololol.... Anyways... Spiked Spin literally made me fall in love with Spin classes. The energy and passion of Spiked Spin's team is unmatched - from the front desk staff to each instructor, It's impossible to leave this place in a bad mood. Aesthetics are on point! From the hip hop collage at the front of the class to the Lil Kim bathroom, you're not leaving without snapping a pic for insta lol i've been to (almost) all the different instructors classes and have not been disappointed once. You are going to get a bomb ass workout in and have fun doing it! Each instructor has their own style and combinations and it never feels like the same class. Did i also mentioned it's Black owned? ANDDD WOMAN OWNED?! i mean helllooooooo *insert heart eyes* My one and only critique is that there aren't enough locations. The customer service was subpar. While I have taken spin class before, the person I was with had not and they pretty much just gave us shoes and told us our bike numbers. Many places have different bikes so it took us some time to figure out how to get our bikes to the right numbers and make them comfortable for our class. Meanwhile the instructor had started class and the other team member was just sitting and the desk providing no help. Stacy's energy was out of this world though! Today I experienced my first (ever) spin class. I was nervous, scared, slight intimidated, and well just not sure I could do it. I almost turned back. I booked a 7:30 am class thinking if it's early enough the class size would be small, with a bike in the back to minimize my exposure, and get out of the way of more seasoned riders. Well, guess what?!!!! I had nothing to worry about!!!! My instructor was Cecilia and she's amazing. While I may not have hit every move perfectly I completed the class. Cecilia was encouraging, gifted with motivation, and the music she played will keep you on your feet. Atmosphere in studio was relaxing and calm (with a side of turn-up), staff was Uber friendly, and the towels were glorious - soft, warm, and slightly scented. Tried this place out today and fell in LOVE! I had an evening class with Cecelia, where I was greeted pleasantly by the front desk. I made a reservation ahead of time ($15 for first time riders). Cecelia set me up with shoes (bring your socks!) and helped me adjust my bike to ensure comfort while riding. Such a fun ride! Great music! Great energy! Very welcoming for first time riders as well. Spiked Spin is a great addition to the neighborhood. So far I've taken five classes here, two with Ava, two with Jamila and one with Wayne. I enjoyed all classes, and got great workouts in. I'm pretty new to spin and was pleased to know that each class really is a total body workout. The studio is intimate, stylish looking and has an overall great vibe. I absolutely love this place! I leave feeling so ready for the week ahead and the trainers are just amazing. The ambience is chef's kisses and they go above and beyond for every class. I would love to see an artist inspired class one day, like a SZA spin class or something, that would be so fun but other than that, 10/10. Had my first class here today and my friends and I absolutely loved it. Joined a friend who wanted to support businesses owned by women for March, was excited by that and the idea of starting a Sunday with some physical activity! If you've never taken a spin class before THIS is the place to start. Our instructor Sabra was so phenomenal. She really pushed the class without calling anyone out, using positivity and encouragement instead of shame, it was so motivating. I'm excited to go back soon and push myself even more. read more

Really loved this class and love the studio. Such nice staff and for those who cycle, they have flywheel bikes, so they're very nice and easy to adjust. I wish the room was more stadium style but that's probably my only critique. Also I don't think they have showers just FYI. read more

Found this place on class pass. I couldn't believe how inclusive the instructor was to all skill levels. In my experience, when I've been to cycling classes the instructors tend to set the tone based on the most advanced participants. Saber was amazing! She didn't leave anyone out and you FELT it.
