My daughter is 7 and has been receiving tutoring through Total Tutoring for several years. I…read morestarted my daughter young because I feel that her education is very important. At first the sessions were great! The tutors were effective and my daughter made a lot of progress in a short period of time. Honestly, I was very happy with the results of the tutoring sessions, and as a result, decided to have my daughter receive Spanish tutoring. I contacted Total Tutoring and organized for a spanish tutor to come to my house for weekly lessons. These sessions were scheduled for 30 minutes at the request of the tutor due to my daughters young age. The lessons began in September of last year, and as of today, she does not understand the phrase "Hola, como estas?". Needless to say her progress has been minimal. During the time my daughter has been receiving lessons from her tutor, Nannette Simmons, I noticed that she was consistently showing up late and leaving early which is discouraging considering the cost of each lesson. I contacted the agency to express my concerns and asked for a different tutor. I was told by Total Tutoring that they would try to find someone new to replace Nannette. Yesterday (December 2nd), the tutor again showed up late, so I decided to set a 30 minute timer. No surprise, the tutor was leaving early. I informed Nannette that should would no longer be tutoring my daughter and told her it was because she was consistently showing up late and leaving early. After each tutoring session we receive an email with a session summary; this is meant to highlight progress and address areas of weakness for my daughter to work on. I received the session report for the final summary and it was blank. I contacted Total Tutoring, cc'ing Nannette, expressing my opinion that this was unprofessional. I received an update session summary which was even more unprofessional!!! Nannette's updated session summary placed the blame entirely on my daughter!!! She took no responsibility for her actions. I responded to Total Tutoring again, extremely upset with the unprofessionalism shown by Nannette. Total Tutoring's reply was that they should have edited her comments before sending them to me. They took no responsibility for Nannette and did not acknowledge her unprofessionalism even knowing my frustration. They did not apologize for her comments, only stating I should not have seen them. Total Tutoring would get a higher review because they do have some good tutors, but customer service is key to me. I need professionalism and I need a good example for my daughter. I am active duty military and I have zero tolerance for adults who place blame everywhere but on themselves while taking no time for self-reflection. The images attached are images of the communications and session recaps as proof of this companies inability to remain professional.

My daughter has attended Mathnasium of Columbia on Centre Park Drive since October of 2020. We…read moredecided to homeschool this year since virtual was not working for us and I needed the additional in person support to assist her with math. It was a hard decision to send her anywhere in person during this time but I decided to take the leap. The past week my daughter mentioned to me on two different days that she doesn't feel comfortable being there because the owners/teachers didn't wear a mask. I was completely shocked so I decided over the next few days to walk her in and out and see for myself. The first day I walked in right when the facility opened and noticed the owner at the front reception/office desk without a mask but when I walked back out about a minute later he had it on. The second day I walked in I didn't see them at the front, so I parked my car where I could see right into the facility. Sure enough, I seen the young lady sitting at the front without a mask and the owner Ed standing behind her without a mask, then Ed walks over to the student area without a mask on. I immediately walk in and confront them both, and asked if there was a reason on why they didn't have masks on the entire time the facility was open with students in there. They came up with every reason, "it's hard to wear it", "it's hard to talk on the phone" "we keep our 6ft", "I don't think it's mandated". I was completely appalled! They never apologized but just defended their reasons on why they didn't feel they needed to wear it. I immediately told them to unenroll my child. I have contacted the franchise's corporate office and local health authorities. I want to share my experience with as many parents as possible, because right now we are all doing our best to give our children the best education and when we pay money and bring our kids to an environment where we are told certain safety measures are put in place, we expect them to be upheld, especially wearing a mask and we certainly don't expect the fact of wearing one to be argued about. I know many parents use this facility so please share this experience with everyone you know as most parents drop their children off and don't enter so they may be completely unaware of what these owners are even doing.

Virginia is awesome for nursing students. At first I was kind of skeptical about paying for a…read moretutor when there are so many resources at the school that I can use and obviously paid for with my tuition. But then I thought it's an investment and how is paying for a tutor any different from paying for those ridiculously over priced books that I'm honestly never going to open again after nursing school. One thing about Virginia is that she offers lifelong techniques that can always be used. Not only does she tutor but she also offers "easy" non time consuming studying techniques and real tips on how to take and pass a test. She even gave us a practice test to show us how we may have been previously making mistakes which my have caused us an extra point. Her tutoring style is well structured and easily flows vs those (IMO) choppy all over the place lectures. I feel like I learned more in her 4 hour session than I did in the first 4 weeks of class. One of the things she said when we started the session was, if you follow her study techniques you can get a high B or A. At this point I'm thinking, yeah right, really, how? But make no mistake, with that statement that means that she's going to lay the foundation but YOU, yes, YOU, have to actually put in the work. She is awesome but please don't think that you'll just go to her session and that's where things will end and you'll pass. ABSOLUTELY NOT. Nursing school is hard so you still have to do your part. I have heard so many horror stories about med-surg and was so anxious at the start of this semester but after meeting with Virginia I feel so much more at ease. Needles to say on my first med-surg exam I got a 85.53%. Also note that this is my highest nursing school exam grade so far and my first time going to a tutor. Next up, the dosage exam. See you in 2 weeks Virginia:)

Needless to say having a half furnished house with a newborn was very challenging. We were nervous about the idea of putting our infant in daycare at such a young age. We researched and toured four local daycares and ultimately chose the young school. We are glad we did. Ms Susan and Ms Kimi have been great and the administration staff is super attentive and friendly. The school is clean and well run. Their communication has been excellent and they take great care of our son. We particularly like the SproutAbout app which provides regular activity updates on everything from bottle feeding to activities which makes us feel like we are involved even while away and provides a sense of security in understanding what transpires during the day. The hours are also convenient for us as is the location which never has morning traffic. We are so glad we found the young school and recommend them! - Darren

DO NOT SEND YOUR CHILD HERE -- READ THIS BEFORE YOU MAKE THE SAME MISTAKE I DID…read moreI'm writing this review because I wish someone had been this honest before I enrolled my daughter. I ignored my gut feeling after reading about children being thrown out of the cot to wake them up. I personally spoke to the director, who reassured me that the person responsible was no longer working there and that none of that was happening anymore. I believed her and enrolled my daughter. That was the worst decision I could've made. From the beginning, I picked my daughter up multiple times soaking wet clothes, underwear, everything. Not once did ANY staff member mention accidents, not once did anyone clean her, and not once did anyone take responsibility. I tried to be patient, but things just kept getting worse. The situation that completely shocked me happened on October 22nd. I picked my daughter up and found diarrhea all over her underwear, through her pants, onto her dress, down to her socks and even in her shoes. The smell was strong and the mess was obvious. This was not something you could "miss." My daughter is FIVE YEARS OLD. This has never happened since she has been potty trained. When I asked her what happened, she told me she tried to go to the bathroom but couldn't because the teachers were changing a bunch of babies in there. I've witnessed this happen previously myself. It clearly prevented my daughter from using the bathroom. And what's worse? NO ONE noticed she had diarrhea all over her. NO ONE changed her. NO ONE told me anything. A week later, I picked her up again and she had dirt all over her bottom. The teacher tried to tell me "she got a little dirty going down the slide." The moment I looked at her, I knew she was soaked in pee. When I grabbed her nap roll, it was completely wet with urine. Nap time is at 12:30 pm. I picked her up at 5:30 PM. That means she had been sitting in pee for HOURS and not a single adult bothered to check her, clean her, or notify me. This is neglect. There is no other word for it. And the final straw, the thing that made me pull her out immediately was when she came home with an actual bald spot where another child had ripped out her hair. No call. No incident report. No explanation. Nothing. I discovered it myself at home. That is completely unacceptable and unsafe. I wish I could go more in detail to share with parents, but this is now a legal matter. I am not exaggerating. I have pictures of everything I'm describing, and I included them in this review so parents can see the truth for themselves. Please do not be fooled by all the five-star reviews. Parents had the possibility of receiving 10% off their tuition in exchange for writing a review. That's why so many glowing reviews popped up at the same time. I also included proof of that so you can see the pattern yourself. If you care about your child's well-being, hygiene, safety, or basic dignity, do NOT send your child here. I wish someone had been this direct with me.
