Located on Milwaukee ave in Logan Square, this Mexican restaurant was definitely a nice surprise. We ordered tacos, cochinita pibil and breakfast burrito which all came in large portions. We spent $45 for 4 adults+ 1 kid and left with leftovers! Thought the meal was very reasonably priced. Tacos were definitely bomb! We ordered shrimp, tilapia and beef tongue - meats all tasted very fresh and tender. The marinated pork in Cochinia pibil was cooked to perfection and had so much flavors. The kid liked the breakfast burrito. The staffs were very friendly and the service was fast. This place has officially become my favorite Mexican restaurant in Chicago! read more

What a gem! I love the veggie tacos and mini veggie chimichangas here. The veggie tacos are loaded with toppings and the chimichangas are so good, they're a must order. Also the spicy red sauce is actually spicy!! This will become my go to spot when I want tacos! read more

Food was great! I ordered the breakfast skillet with over medium eggs and my fiancé ordered the burrito. Both of us did arrachera. Meat was tasty and well seasoned! The skilled was a good value but nothing special. The burrito was fantastic. Both salsas were very good, but the red was both of our favorites. It was spicy and flavorful. For us, both meals were enough to have some now and save half. The horchata and cucumber lime water were delicious! We will be back for both of these in the future. Inside there is bar seating and some tables. I would like to dine in next time. Overall, a good value and good quality Mexican food. read more

Today (09/01/2025) 14:15 , would've been my first time trying this place. however the young lady working there, made that impossible. we sat down waited to order, five minutes went by and nothing. She checked on everyone else, in there and never paid any attention to my wife & I. She walked past our table twice, nothing (no how can i help you, no water, no i'll be with you in a moment , no type of customer service skills at all). everyone there pretty much had ordered and received their orders, so there was no visible reason for us to be ignored. we thought after she took this one gentleman some water that she would stop at our table, she actually pulled up a 5 gallon bucket and started sorting condiment squeeze bottles. that's when we determined that she had no interest in taking our orders or even checking on us. i was really interested in trying their food because they have pretty good reviews, however we won't ever set foot in there again if this is the type of behavior to expect. read more

Yes! This new spot is owned by some of the cooks from a unassuming Mexican place on Elston in Irving Park called Taco Max... but that place has some awesome al pastor and is one of my favorites, so I'm definitely down for a Logan Square cousin with some new tricks. The new restaurant is in the old Dante's location on Milwaukee Ave and when I visited the old exterior sign wasn't even down yet, but they were already busy--taking constant orders. I got takeout and like a lot of casual Mexican spots, I think they will do a lot this, but there is decent interior seating here that feels casual but not fast food - there's some color and art and I'd be happy to eat in here. There are two little sidewalk patio tables as well. Order was ready on time when I arrived. Al Pastor is flavorful and had multiple chunks of pineapple. I had the nachos which included tons of melted real cheese and generous scoops of guacamole. I also ordered the namesake signature "spicy taco"--which seems to be a steak taco with melted cheese between the taco shell layers. The steak has a great grill taste, and the taco was generous size (not skimpy like some places), but I would have loved the taco to actually be "spicy" like the name implies - for me it was pretty mild. The habanero sauce though, was for real hot and had a sweetness to it while it smacked you. I will say, I found myself comparing the red and green sauces to Taco Max, and I miss the charred sauce and the brighter orange habanero which seems perfected up there. Spicy taco is an incredible little Mexican restaurant right off the Logan Square Blue Line stop. The restaurant does not look like much, but the food and service is incredible. It is a small little hole in the wall restaurant, but it is one of the best Mexican spots in Chicago. The food is incredible. I got the chorizo burrito with rice and everything was delicious. The portions were big enough that I was able to take half of the burrito home and eat it for lunch the next day. The prices are fantastic too. Very cheap for the quality and quantity. They offer carry out or dine in. Overall, Spicy Taco is a definite 5 star that is a wonderful hidden gem in the Logan Square area. read more

I'm in the habit of trying almost any new taqueria that opens up so of course as soon as I saw the sign, I was getting my shoes on. I tried the steak tacos, an al pastor tostada, and my boyfriend got the pulled pork nachos. Everything was delicious. The al pastor was nice and spicy and the steak was well cooked and seasoned. I hate it when places serve stale chips and I particularly hate a soggy tostada, but they fried the tostada to order and it was super crunchy, and the chips were fresh as well. The place has a surprisingly nice interior so it would be great for dine in as well. Right now on this particular stretch of Milwaukee, there are some other not very good Mexican places (I won't name names!), so I hope Spicy Taco gets a lot of business; the food was really good. This has become my go to spot for tacos. Their Spicy Taco is the best! I'm sensitive to heat so was afraid to try it but it's just the name of the taco. It's skirt steak with melted cheese. It's not oozing with cheese but more like just enough to jive it a unique taste and texture. Friendly staff and service has always been good. Mostly order take out and have only eaten here once. I'm only a 5 minute walk from here so I decided to finally give this place a try and it did not disappoint. I got the 3 taco dinner with steak and tinga tacos, they were so good! They were full of flavor and pretty juicy. Very happy I came in today, this is going to be a new go-to taco spot for me. Can't to try other things on the menu :) Also, the girl at the register was super nice and sweet. It's really cozy inside and it felt very comfortable to me.
