My boyfriend and I came here for dinner on a weekday after enjoying their takeout before, and we wanted to experience dining in. I'm so glad we did! The service was incredibly friendly and attentive. Everyone greeted us with a smile, took the time to explain the menu, checked on us throughout the meal, and made us feel genuinely welcome. I ordered the tandoori chicken, and it was fantastic, freshly grilled, juicy, well-seasoned, and a generous portion. My boyfriend got the chicken tikka, and the creamy sauce was rich and delicious. We also ordered the cheese naan, which is great, it was warm, cheesy, and like an elevated quesadilla. I could seriously eat the butter chicken tacos here twice a week they're that good! This time I didn't even remember to take a picture until I was already halfway through them. I also tried a bite of the tikka masala and now I think I'm going to have to venture away from my beloved tacos and order that next time because it was delicious. The service is always great and everyone is genuinely super nice. The only miss was the wine, it was pretty bad and honestly not finishable. But the food? Absolutely worth coming back for. Wow. Just WOW. We had the chicken korma, chicken tikka masala, butter chicken, and garlic naan at Spicee Bite, and this was hands-down the best Indian food we've ever had! The three chicken dishes were all completely different from each other -- creamy, tangy, rich, spicy, and absolutely packed with flavor. Usually when you order three similar dishes, they start to blur together... not here! Each one had its own personality. Honestly, our only problem was trying to decide which one we liked best. And the garlic naan? Perfect. The kind of naan that makes you realize you probably should have ordered two. The lady that took our order was incredibly nice, friendly, and welcoming, which made the whole experience even better. Great food, great service, and flavors that had us talking about the meal afterward. If you're in Salem and love Indian food, do yourself a favor and try Spicee Bite. I tried the Fish Pakkor and Fish Wrap. I can say I love Indian food and spice. The portion size of my food and the spice heat level was good. That's where my satisfaction with it ended. Ok, I take that back...it looked and smelled good too. But the taste of the fish, the salt level and strange textures failed. First, the fish could not have been very fresh. It was so fishy tasting that I double checked to make sure it was a white fish. Since it was, the only reason for such a strong fishy taste in white fish means it was not fresh! The batter is made with chickpeas. I can only guess they grind the dried peas themselves because there were pieces that were so hard I first thought I was biting bone. I am grateful I didn't break a tooth. Yes, those pieces were hard little yellow bits. Not cool. Lastly these were tossed or rolled in some super salty powder or something that it was like a salt lick. Yuck! The Fish wrap was better in that the naan bread used to wrap this concoction was super tender and the vegetables were crisp and fresh. Sadly they used the same fish battered, fried and nestled inside. The fish was awful and it ruined the wrap. All I can say is taste your food before sending it out. If the flavor is off or there is an issue would you eat it? Better yet, is the profit you got from an inferior product worth your reputation and future sales? Maybe it was an off day. Maybe not but your food is not cheap and 2 big strikes in one order and I'm sorry but I won't be back. read more

A quick place for fast Indian food. This used to be bovines burgers. It is a small space. Order at the counter and pay. You are services your meal in plastic to go containers even if you are eating in. They provide paper plates and plastic utensils. The Chana and naan were boring. The lamb curry was good. The chai tea was terrible. Lacking spices and full of sugar! I prefer Indian food to be a nice sit down restaurant like Indian Palace. read more

We ate here after visiting nearby gardens. The food was so so hot temperature wise we had to wait quite awhile for it to cool down. I couldn't even finish it at that point because I had eaten there naan . We ordered the garlic naan, but where was the garlic? Hmm. My boyfriend ordered medium heat but he couldn't even eat his dish for it was too spicy for even him. It wasn't "medium" he said. I got home and a little later on, I got sick. I can't blame it on this perhaps but it could have been for I'd eaten nothing else. So overall our impression wasn't great. I'm surprised now to see all the great reviews. It just wasn't our experience unfortunately. I like supporting food carts and small businesses. I really like the yard. It grew on me. It's a good atmosphere great drinks, plenty of space, decent music, and the food choices are awesome. But Spicee Bite is freakin delish.
