What a find! Master chef Douglas Hope prepares an incredibly elaborate and delicious fixed-price 8-course dinner lasting 3 hours, using ingredients mostly sourced or raised on his own farm property. Appetizers, buffalo, duck, pork, myriad other meats, vegetables of all sorts, soup, salads, fresh breads served warm, sauces, butters, cheeses, palate cleansers, desserts, maple and birch waters which he carbonates himself, coffee and specialty teas. Served in sequence, not buffet style of course, to a communal table. There are interpersonal introductions before the meal starts, to foster discussions and new friendships. All this for $65 per head plus alcohol, tax and tip. Almost impossible to get a reservation (just 14 seats) but worth trying for sure. A unique dining event provided by a genius with global experience. read more
