OTF Mason has a fabulous staff that is there to help you with your fitness goals!…read more I took a chance on the first class and fell in love. I've worked with trainer Breon only and enjoy his energy! You will enjoy his little "nuggets" of inspiration like, "There is no progress without process" while you're running at incline 5/6mph, makes you want to push yourself harder to achieve your goal. That made me think days after class and how losing weight or just getting healthy is a journey and what we put into it, is what we get out of it. If you put your all into every class you take, then you are guaranteed to get over 500 calories burned within 1 hour but it depends on how hard you try. How bad do you really want it?! Plenty of parking, great peeps trying to reach similar goals and the fact that I can burn hours after, make it a great investment.

I've been to 100+ studios since I travel for work and this one has to be in the bottom 10. I tell…read morecoaches I powerlift outside of OTF and thus need to change adjust my weight floor routine. Almost every since one understands, however "Cori" has made several petty unprofessional remarks. She said to me "why do you pay all this money if you're going to not follow the template?" I logically explain the reason to her. While they were doing a leg exercise she said on the live mic "hey bud we're doing this" even though I explained my situation to her before and she seemed to get it. She's also obsessed with the "no phone policy" even when you're sitting on the stationary bike or between sets sitting on the bench on the weight floor. Clearly there's a HUGE chance of me falling off the bike or bench on the weight floor (eye roll). This studio has an uptight suburban feel to it. I take their classes as a last resort but other studios are WAY better and less finicky.

I can only start by saying 5 stars is not enough…read more It has been an absolute pleasure to be a part of Micheal Burns Gym. He is a extremely nice person, easy to talk to, very helpful, outgoing, as well he's a veteran! Mr. Burns offers personal training as well mentorship and is always there to give you advice and help you improve your lifts or any area of fitness you desire. As well he is very good about making sure your payments are correct and if you need to pause your membership for a couple months or longer, Michael is a message away and will do it no problem. About Burns Barbell, My favorite part about this gym is that it's an 24 hour gym that you can access anytime with the swipe of your hand, not to mention also having a speaker you can connect to in the gym. With that the gym is very nice with modern, well working equipment and he is constantly buying new equipment to improve his gym. I've been a member since his previous location and the improvements are truly remarkable. Micheal also has all of the goodies, with a loaded beverage fridge and a snack table with tons of great pre & post workout snacks and drinks.

At the…read moretime I was boxing a lot, but I was out of shape and struggling to keep up with the other boxers. Both my cardio and strength were insufficient. I started working w/ Brittany a few months ago and she fully understood my goals. She developed a personalized plan for me and we got to work. First, she fixed my diet by giving me the exact macros I need to hit to see the best results. She also coached me to eat better and provided easy lifestyle changes that allowed me to hit my goals w/o flipping my life upside down. Second, Brittany designed a highly creative workout regiment that mimics boxing rounds. 3 minutes on, 1 minute off. I do many of the same exercises that the top UFC fighters and boxers do, and over time I've begun to excel. Now, I'm in the best shape I've ever been in, my cardio is light years better than before and my strength is outstanding. I've improved my boxing skills rapidly all thanks to Brittany. Without Brittany & WCFC, I wouldn't be this close to achieving my goal of being a boxer. THANK YOU SO MUCH!

I don't remember what my first workout was, but I do remember hearing it and thinking "How do I get…read moreout of here?" I thought I was a goner. But it turns out that when I (or anyone) can't do the workout of the day as "prescribed", the workout can be modified. The point is to push yourself and the coaches know all the great ways to "scale" a workout to meet the athlete where they're at (whether due to strength, flexibility, or injury-related limitations) and while still employing the intended stimulus of the workout (like by doing jumping pull-ups rather than regular pull-ups; or ring rows rather than jumping pull-ups; or nearly-standing ring rows rather than ring rows; etc.). In the nearly 3 years I've been going there, the focus on "constantly varied" exercises, along with plenty of focus on nutrition (not in the classes, per se, but through challenges and general conversations), has enabled me to drop about 40 pounds of weight and 6" to 8" of waist-line, and am still continuing the effort! Also in those three years: I conquered the climbing rope; I can almost string together multiple "double-unders" (jump rope going under your feet twice in a single jump); took about 2:30 - 3:00 off of my 1 mile run time; nearly achieved a 400 pound deadlift; and so much more! Plus, I've made friends and have also done "drop-ins" at other CrossFit gyms when traveling (in the U.S. and other countries) and find the global community to be nearly as welcoming as CrossFit Cincinnati has always been. Being able to get off the couch without bracing myself against pain in my knees, being able to squat down to pick up after my dog or to manage laundry using my front-loading washer and dryer, being able to kneel and get a good bow in my shoelace, being able to serve as "muscle" for my wife who needs bags of dirt and other heavy-and-sometimes-awkward items moved around so she can do the gardening she likes to do, being able to go up stairs without getting winded... All of this (and more) has come from CrossFit and the terrific (and caring) coaches at CrossFit Cincinnati!
