After driving around the county in the heat of the day, we found Spencer's. The waiters were very patient as I was very indecisive about what it order. After talking to some locals and finally the waiter about what they offer, I came to my conclusion. I ordered an Oreo sundae with nuts. The quality of the sundae wasn't anything to write home about, but I did enjoy my experience here. I wish that I could have got a milkier taste from the ice cream. One of the aspects that enjoyed was that they sold old sports card for a cheap price. One of my colleagues was able to get a deck of one hundred cards for only $4. If you are in need of a quick ice cream trip as you travel, Spencer's should be on your list of places to go. read more

I came here on the way to Pikeville, Kentucky for a quick dairy snack. I ordered a mango smootvuhie because I am not a big ice cream fan but the smoothie was delicious. It was thick and very flavored which I loved. The ice cream, according to my classmates, was also fabulous and they seemed to really enjoy it. The price was fair for any dairy place. There is outside seating, which is always a plus for me, I loved the feel of this business. I would love to come back with friends and family. The atmosphere was great. Banana spilt heaven I stopped by Spencer's to get some cold ice cream on a 90 degrees, hot-summer day! And I was not disappointed! I ordered the banana spilt. After receiving my order in only a few short minutes by a very hospitable waitress, I received my half-gallon size banana split! This was the best and largest banana spilt I've ever eaten! It came with strawberries, pineapples, and chocolate and it was topped with whipped cream and nuts! 5SA, 5 stars Appalachia and Jennifer Bryant, a local resident of Owsely, ate lunch in Spencer's Dairy Bar. We ordered sandwiches, salad and french fries by standing on a counter out side a window. We sat outside this fastfood serving place and ate our lunch. It was so hot and I wished that they had some cooler place for customers to just sit and enjoy lunch. I and four more friends were on a trip field activity as a part of a summer program in Booneville, Owsley County. We were recommended to have lunch at Spencer's Dairy Bar. Personally, I enjoyed the Big Spencer Special which included a burger, fries, and Coco-cola for only $5.50. It was so refreshing to eat on a picnic table and enjoy a beautiful day of June. Spencer's Dairy Bar was a great rescue on a hot 90 degree summer day. This old-fashioned dairy bar was very unexpected while my group and I were travelling through Booneville. The place reminds me of a typical hangout place for friends in Old movies or children lining up for their treats. I ordered medium butter scotch milkshake and was dumbfounded when handed a large glass. My friends struggled to finish their large milkshakes. The service was great and the shakes even better! I came here with a party of twenty-one and we were all serviced within minutes; it was really quite impressive. They started making the orders as we were going down the line ordering, and we all received our orders within the sequence that we ordered them. I had a small Oreo milkshake, and I loved it; it was creamy and tasty. Warning though, the sizes are larger than you think. My small was what I would consider a medium. On a hot summer day trip to Booneville, my classmate and I decided to stop at the restaurant for an ice scream and I truly loved it. They serve good ice scream for a very affordable price. They also serve food and from what I heard, they have good burgers. I did not give a try yet, but will probably do next time I stop at drive around Booneville. This is a cute little ice cream shop that you wouldn't expect while in Booneville, KY. They have pretty descent prices and good looking ice cream. They also have more than just ice cream. They have sandwiches, fries, fried pickles, and some other items. There is not really a place to sit so it is more of a grab n go restaurant. The service was quite friendly and enthusiastic to help me with what I needed. I would make a stop here to grab some ice cream or some food to go. If you ask where in Booneville to have ice cream , Spencer's is the place . When I went it was 90 degrees so our group had to stop to freshen up , we have two more hours to reach our destination . They serve huge and a lot of flavors , my friends ordered banana split at an affordable price and they said it was filling . Most Delicious Banana Split that i have ever tasted! It was my first time visiting Owsley county with recommendations from a collegue Will. And it was also my first time to taste a banana split. This place was a hole in the wall, but had awesome shakes! The staff was friendly and flexible and willing to give their customers whatever they desired. I greatly appreciate my friend Will for guiding us to this dairy place. I felt as if I was in one of those typical movie scenes that star friends hanging about. Don't judge a book by its cover. At first glance, Spence's dairy bar is just a small town ice cream place. Yet, after they serve you, one sees how much care they put into every detail on your ice cream. I was pleasantly surprised when I ordered my pineapple sundae. They don't accept credit or debit cards. There is no place to sit inside but they have a nice shaded seating area outside. It is like a local sonic.
