This cafe lies at the center of a humble roadside inn, and while it didn't appear to me that many people were vacationing during the off-season, there were plenty of people heading in and out of the cafe. The pastry spread had abundant options, and plenty of this place's own chocolate bars were available for sale. I got a Mayan hot chocolate, which I was told was spicy. Hot chocolate is a beverage that not infrequently lets me down, but this one was full-flavored, and both the spice and the sweetness came through. My chocolate chip brownie with cream cheese icing was wildly indulgent. I didn't have a need for any more than that, but if I did, they certainly could have provided something worthwhile. Given the remote location and irregular hours, I would check their website and social media before coming.

The cornbread pancakes were tasty and an interesting take on the preparation of them, it paired nicely with the chili. It would've been a perfect fall meal. The staff seemed incredibly kind, and were so excited to tell us about their new slushy machine. The interior was decorated with old news paper clippings, stories, and a bobcat mascot costume. I'd go back for the ice cream, but that's about it. They were out of the things we had tried to order initially, which was kinda disappointing.

It is best known for its classic burgers, thick milkshakes, and fries, offering an "old-school" experience with outdoor-only seating. "Big Spencer" burger is more of work of art than just burger it is made fresh, and come with options of either some huge onion rings, or crispy fries. My wife had the peanut butter shake with hers while I opted for an Ale 8 instead. The hot fudge cake and banana splits we have for dessert was amazing, while it was cold as it was outside-only dining, but it's clean, friendly, and this place is always busy with families keeping long-standing traditions. Whether you stop for an Ale-8-One, a soft-serve cone, or a Big Spencer Special, you always leave this small-town spot happy! If you are thru Booneville, this has to be where you eat. Staff was so friendly and really set the place apart for anywhere else in the area.

To be honest, it looked closed - all the windows are tinted, so we couldn't see inside, and the parking lot was empty. Maybe we pulled up later than they typically expect to have diners, b/c when we walked in (very nice inside, btw, great decoration and all), I noticed there had been a party in the next room that hadn't been cleaned up yet. They have a bar, but I was driving, and my friends w/ me don't drink, so we didn't do that - notable, though, b/c most Mexican restaurants I've been to don't serve alcohol. Food is really great value, and great portions. We each got pretty huge platters for very reasonable prices, and the quality was great. Service was on point as well; admittedly the guy seemed a bit surprised to see us, but once he got us set up, everything went smoothly - chips and salsa to start, great w/ refilling water, food came out pretty quickly (perhaps not challenging when we were the only people there!). Other than the one table not being picked up when we walked in, the entire place was clean, including the bathroom, and I would go back if in the area again!

Found this place online and thought a general store would be perfect. Turns out to really just be a gas station.
