My doctor , Dr Thomas Shoenhofen sent me to Dr. McCall due to the severeness of the injuries caused by the falls. I made an appointment for the first available time nevertheless, the pain, swelling, numbness , tingling and color changes prompted me to ask to be seen by Dr. McCall as a "Walk-In", which is offered to patients unable to wait for an appointment. I was shocked, when the receptionist demanded I pay $350 in order to be put on Dr. McCall's waiting list, because she claimed my Medicare was suspended. I was not only humiliated and embarrassed by the receptionists ( there were 2 of them)., but also spoken to rudely and with no empathy whatsoever in front of a room full of waiting patients. I had no choice but to pay the money because of all the pain, etc. After paying the $350 on my Visa Nordstrom Credit Card and waiting more than 2 and a half hours, Dr McCall did nothing but look at mt leg and say there was nothing he could do to help. He asked if I had a wrap at home my reply was "no". He then wrapped the leg and said to see him in 2 weeks " But only if my leg was not better. We don't need to just visit" I then mentioned to him about the unprofessionalism of his receptionists. He stated " Isn't it nice to be able to be seen by the doctor as a walk-in? You're money will be refunded". Upon leaving, I was told by the receptionist that it was too late to reverse th

From the initial call with the receptionist Vicki who was very thorough polite attentive and knowledgeable the friendly receptionist who greeted me upon arrival and Dr Forni himself everyone really made me feel good about going to the Dr. This practice was night and day compared to other medical specialists I have been to lately. I'm so tired of going to physicians and getting five to ten minutes of a specialists time being treated rude and like the provider is doing me a favor. I can't tell you how often I've thought how can a person who has to be making 300k plus and is their own boss be so miserable . Dr Forni is not that type of Dr he spent over and hour thoroughly examining talking to and explaining things to me. He seems a genuinely happy down to earth professional with a wonderful personality. He explained my issue was more of an acute than chronic issue and that in light of the fact my insurance didn't cover orthotics he could construct something himself to provide relief. He did just that saving me a lot of $ and right away I felt a difference. I don't understand how he doesn't have pages of great reviews he is a real gem and I now know who I will go to for any foot or ankle issues.

When we left the massage parlor we had to get to the other side of a busy highway by going up the stairs, crossing an overhead walkway & down the stairs on the other side of the road. Lately it has been bothering me & creating enough pain to want to go see an orthopedic doctor. I called up Illinois Bone & Joint Institute (IBJI) After talking to my nephew (who use to work for IBJI in Gurnee I called IBJI @ 9am. Amazing I had an appointment @ 10am. This IBJI is located @ 9000 Waukegan Road where ABT use to be located. I scheduled an appointment w/Dr Raab an orthopedic surgeon. Kelly his Nurse Practitioner came in and assessed the situation. They took me in to get an X-ray of my knee & brought me back to the exam room. After waiting for a while Dr Rabb came in examined my leg. After examining my leg he noticed swelling on the knee but and told me there was liquid on my knee joint. He then proceeded to extract the liquid & give me a shot of cortisone which greatly reduced the swelling & pain. I was told to get a knee compression sock which really helps to further stabilize my knee. Both Dr Raab & Kelly were very friendly & personable making the visit more enjoyable. The best part is Dr Raab didn't feel that I needed to have knee surgery yet.

My doctor said that I needed to see an Orthopaedic Surgeon because of pain in my knee (I am a very…read moreathletic guy and the pain was getting in the way of my working out) and gave me a list of orthopedics... When I asked my doctor; "Who would you send your brother, father or wife to?," He said; "Bradley Dunlap at Evanston Hospital." Just a FYI, Dr Dunlap has relocated his main office to the new Ambulatory Building at Skokie Hospital. One more thing, I had previously had both my left and right knee worked on by other surgeons earlier in my life, so I have a benchmark and neither of these surgeons were worthy of a review, but Dr. Bradley Dunlap is much different both demeanor wise and option wise.... Long story short, after doing an MRI on my knee, Dr Dunlap informed me that, should I opt for surgery, based on my MRI, I would need a knee replacement... And, instead of "scheduling the surgery" Dr Dunlap gave me the option of a cortisone shot stating that it might relieve the pain temporarily or for an extended period of time, but it would be worth the try to put off surgery... As it turned out, the cortisone worked...on the left knee... Several years later, my right knee acted up just before my skiing vacation and I was back in Dr Dunlap's office... Dr Dunlap informed me that it was probably a meniscal tear which would require surgery... Again, long story short, rather than waste time, money and lose my skiing vacation, Dr. Dunlap offered me a cortisone shot in the right knee and told me that it would probably need surgery, sooner than later, and informed me that this was the last cortisone shot I could get in the right knee.... So, of course, I took the shot and had a fabulous skiing vacation... Well, as you can guess, I procrastinated a year till this last November (2013); and the pain came back, but this time; severe! When I told the doctor I had another skiing vacation planned, he agreed to give me one more cortisone shot with an agreement that I would get an MRI quickly to determine the issue...He advised me to limit my exercising to reduce my swelling before the ski outing and even provided some pain relief medication to tide me over... I wound up NOT missing my skiing vacation and had limited pain thereafter... I just recently had the knee surgery and that is why I am highly recommending Dr. Bradley Dunlap! If you read my other reviews, you would know that I only rate the best, I have no time to review losers or mediocre, that is why I have a limited amount of reviews posted on Yelp So, as I do in my other reviews, I highly recommend Dr Dunlap (as compared to two previous surgeon); and here's why: -I have never waited more than 10 minutes in the Skokie location waiting room for my appointments, most of the time, less than 5 minutes, even if I show up early! -After the MRI, when I asked the doctor why the pain occurs, he went out of the way to take out a knee model and show me exactly where the tear was and demonstrated the mechanics of how the pain was occurring which no surgeon ever took the time out to do in my two previous procedures! -I was VERY WELL INFORMED BEFORE SURGERY AS TO WHAT TO EXPECT and was much better prepared for pre and post operation preparation and follow-through! -Better yet, when I forgot half of what I was told the day before surgery, Dr. Dunlap's nurse, Sylvia, returned my call quickly, answered all my questions and treated me with the utmost of respect! -Check-in and recovery at the hospital was seamless! -7 days, post procedure, doctor showed me very clear images of my knee surgery showing me the initial damage, and then several stages of the tear removal, followed by the final result. Dr Dunlap also took the time to show me images of the other side of the same knee to reassure me that the health of the knee on that side was impressively pristine! I highly recommend you consider Dr Bradley Dunlap, I would recommend him to a close friend or relative; he is a superior doctor with excellent soft skills and his staff is exemplary!

As an "expert" about hip surgeries, one would certainly think that he would know how to plan his scheduled to not get 6 hours behind. That was the least of my problem. I never saw Dr. Domb the day of surgery, did her perform my procedure that I had to pay all that money for, I have no concrete proof to this day. The anesthesiologist came to give me the Versed, and I stopped him and said nobody has signed off on my hip yet and I know that is protocol for any surgery. The anesthesiologist said "Okay, here is the versed, have the nurse give it to you once you see someone." Seriously? The PA came rushing in and was clearly flustered. I began stating that I did not feel comfortable moving forward with the procedure as everyone seemed very rushed and hurried. Nobody acknowledged my concerns, and I sent my family member away as it was not fair to make them sit and wait with me. The PA signed, while moving me to the OR, the nurse pushed the Versed as we got to the OR. They had me transfer myself to the table and were getting me in place. Again, I was stating my discomfort with how things were going. The anesthesiologist said "do you feel anything yet?" To which I replied, no, I was just given the drugs a minute ago. He then said "okay, I will give you an extra punch to knock you out!" Recovery: I adhered to the crutches with no weight bearing for 6 full weeks. I did the CPM machine as instructed everyday (another added cost). 1.5 weeks after I was allowed to walk, August 4, 2023, I had an excruciating pop in my hip and said something is not right. I saw several PA's in the upcoming weeks and expressed that I would be starting a new job in a week or two and would like to do any testing possible to use the insurance that was maxed out before starting over with new insurance in September. I finally was allowed to see Dr. Domb in September 28, 2023, after my new insurance started. He ordered an MRI, not an MRA with the contrast to confirm the femur wasn't fractured. I asked why not do the MRA, he said they would rule out the fracture first, and if no fracture would do the MRA. So basically, pay for an unnecessary MRI that would be $500-$800 depending on where I went. Then pay for the MRA which cost me about $1,000. Shortly after this visit I realized that I needed another opinion. Neither of my additional opinions understood the MRI/MRA justification, but anyway I had to wait for any additional testing until January 2024 as I could not afford to hit my insurance maximums twice in a year. After I requested my medical records, I didn't hear ONE WORD from Dr. Domb's office. I believe they even removed me from their email list as the success stories about the famous athletes across the world stopped coming my way. Update: I proceeded with the MRA 1/2/2024. The results were inconclusive. I had surgery Tuesday, 4/16/24 and it turned out one of my stitches had broken that was holding a portion of my labrum in place which had caused the labrum to sag and was ultimately pinching in my joint with every step I took. My condition deteriorated so quickly between 8/4/23 to 4/16/24. I went from running 6 miles per day prior to my surgery 6/12 to not even being able to make it to the end of my driveway to get the mail leading up to my next surgery. I couldn't make it to my office at work without taking multiple breaks due to intense pain. I must ask, had I had Dr. Domb do a third surgery on me, would he have told me what the actual issue was? Would he have charged me another $10,000+ to have the procedures/tests required. I'm sure he would! I followed up with many, many people at AHI and I was told "this is a great learning experience". I am disheartened to know that my hard-earned money, my pain, my poor quality of life was a learning lesson for them. To this day, I don't know if Dr. Domb even saw me the day of my surgery, my guess is no.
