At the front information desk, I have sometimes felt dismissed or spoken to harshly when asking for directions or clarification, especially when I mentioned that I had visited before but needed reminders due to medical issues and medication-related brain fog. During some specialist visits, I felt that my responses were not fully acknowledged when I answered questions in ways that were unexpected. This left me concerned that parts of my medical information may not have been clearly reflected in my records. I have also struggled to get assistance from the Galter Life Center. Despite having a referral from my specialists, I have not been able to schedule an appointment or receive clear guidance through in-person visits, phone calls, or email. Additionally, I have attempted to contact Patient Experience and Advocacy several times but have not received responses to my calls or messages. When the system moved to NorthShoreConnect, I hoped communication would improve, but many of my messages there have also gone unanswered. Because of these experiences, I personally feel that my concerns have not been addressed adequately, and I would encourage others to carefully consider their options when seeking care.

My mom was a nurse for many years and has worked alongside many nurses. She raved about how Devonte exhibited the gold standard of the nursing profession. Many nurses get the job done. I cannot say enough about the care my husband received from the nurses, assistants, doctors, and staff. During the most difficult time in our lives, people like Yvette, Laura, Tash, Noemi, Garret, Abdul--and so many others whose names I wish I could remember--were there for us with compassion, patience, and genuine kindness. They didn't just care for my husband; they supported me as well. Dr. Al and Dr. Najjar were deeply invested in my husband's care and recovery. They were always accessible, took the time to explain things clearly, and made me feel included and informed every step of the way. No place is ever perfect, and there were moments along the way that were challenging. But the level of care my husband received at Kindred, especially in comparison to other facilities, was truly exceptional. When my husband passed, the staff treated him--and our family--with such dignity and respect. When we arrived to say goodbye, he had been so thoughtfully and beautifully prepared. His space was arranged with care, his belongings placed around him, and he looked peaceful and truly cared for. It meant more than I can put into words. Throughout our time there, I always felt supported, heard, and cared for. If I ever had to make this kind of decision again for a loved one, Kindred would absolutely be the place I would choose.

This hospital needs to be shut down. The staff was incompetent and cocky except for a few female…read morenurses I guess. The room I went in to be admitted was nasty and had dirty underwear on the floor. The bathrooms were disgusting. The patients were not taken care of at all we all had to help each other more than the staff would. One security guard was drunk at one point I could smell it. After that, she was discharged and told to follow up with her primary care physician. I also accidentally left my laptop charger in the room. When I returned to retrieve it, I was not allowed back in because the patient had already been discharged. The security guard behind the glass window was rude and dismissive, stating that the room had already been cleaned and that nothing was found there.

However, the experience at the second-floor imaging desk was the opposite. The front desk clerk, Marcus J., would get a 0 stars. While trying to locate the MRI department, I was mistakenly sent to the wrong floor. When I approached Marcus for help, there was no greeting--which was fine--but his exaggerated frown and visibly annoyed demeanor were hard to ignore. I understand people have bad days, but his deliberately slow and dismissive attitude bordered on comical. He was unhelpful, uncommunicative, and acted like a petulant child. So glad my appt was on Marcus' floor. I've had great experiences with the X-Ray team on the 2nd but Marcus has no business being on t Northwesterns staff in any capacity.

She is always responsive and available no matter the hour. She is the most well networked doctor I've ever met. My daughter needed to see a plastic surgeon for a birthmark removal and I had trouble getting an appointment. Dr. Weems called the surgeon directly and I had an appointment the next day. I have many more stories like this highlighting the ways she's saved us. Best investment and decision we've made! We only have the best things to say!

Weems has no privileges at suburban hospitals, and has no relationships with any specialist and no ability to get you in any sooner than if you cold called on your own. Most recently, she ghosted us when we asked for post-surgical pain meds for our 11 year-old who had a laceration so deep the tendons in her hand were visible. Ghosted! You can get equivalent or better care at an urgent care clinic from a non-doctor. without having to spend thousands per year for nothing. Not a "concierge" doctor at all, save your money.
