At the front information desk, I have sometimes felt dismissed or spoken to harshly when asking for directions or clarification, especially when I mentioned that I had visited before but needed reminders due to medical issues and medication-related brain fog. During some specialist visits, I felt that my responses were not fully acknowledged when I answered questions in ways that were unexpected. This left me concerned that parts of my medical information may not have been clearly reflected in my records. I have also struggled to get assistance from the Galter Life Center. Despite having a referral from my specialists, I have not been able to schedule an appointment or receive clear guidance through in-person visits, phone calls, or email. Additionally, I have attempted to contact Patient Experience and Advocacy several times but have not received responses to my calls or messages. When the system moved to NorthShoreConnect, I hoped communication would improve, but many of my messages there have also gone unanswered. Because of these experiences, I personally feel that my concerns have not been addressed adequately, and I would encourage others to carefully consider their options when seeking care.

So here it is: Ummm so.... I found Rockford Animal Hospital from right here on Yelp . This BluePearl is part of a Corporate thing that is only interested in money. I guess it is the NorthShore and we need to justify a big salary and high real estate for this place but yeah.... This is involving a creature who is part of your family.... The staff was very cold and sorry that quote was insane. I have also been to the BluePearl in Skokie. If you find yourself in a financial pickle and you can drive to these locations, obviously NOT an option in some emergency situations.....BUT if you can, check out these places: they are worth the trip. I have a dog who had a tick and ended up with an autoimmune situation. $3500 paid to BluePearl here for just an antibiotic but quoted $13,000 for antibiotics, testing a a few days stay which I could NOT afford at that time and we went on our way. 1. Bowes Animal Hospital in Elgin just did dentistry on my poor baby when no one else would take her. They were affordable, competent, transparent, compassionate and made me feel at ease. 22 extractions and she is doing great! This is a 3 doctor place that is independently owned and operated. Delightful doctors, techs and office staff. They are wonderful!!! 2 hour drive 1 way. We will be driving back there next year for an annual checkup. 2. Premier Animal Emergency Hospital Ethos on Belmont in Chicago. This has been her "regular vet" since they have an internal medicine specialist since no one nearby seems knowledgeable about what her autoimmune situation is all about. Testing is much more affordable, kind and compassionate staff. I completely forgot this place did a crazy complicated surgery on my old JRT a decade and a half ago on his broken leg and involved 63 pins... My beloved dog literally ran full tilt on that leg until the day he died. 3. Rockford Emergency Animal Hospital in Rockford Illinois. My baby spent multiple nights over the course of a month when all of this started a few years ago to figure out what to do to help her. This is a 3 hour drive for me 1 way. Just to be clear, all of those visits and extended time staying many overnights with someone monitoring her extremely high fever, continuous IV, an entire panel of bloodwork antibiotic protocol and when that didn't work we went to steroids. This whole thing was a fraction of the $13,000 BluePearl quoted for just the little start. Even if you tag on the $1000 in missed tolls and hotel stay because I was in such duress driving hours back and forth in desperation to keep this sweet creature alive I think I might have gone a little over $5000. $13,000 would have wiped me out beyond imagination and would have ended up being a death sentence. All the visits to the 3 above places IN TOTAL over a few years has now have come to that $13,000 mark quoted way back and my dog is stable and thriving.

My mom was a nurse for many years and has worked alongside many nurses. She raved about how Devonte exhibited the gold standard of the nursing profession. Many nurses get the job done. A select few have job integrity along with excellent people skills. Devonte possesses those qualities. He made our surgical experience pleasantly memorable. We sincerely thank him.

A nearby hospital closed recently so this ER is always super busy now. The major reason for the…read moreupset is the wait time. It's just a typical bottleneck because of the number of patients and the capacity limitations of the hospital. The doctors and staff are all high quality and great! I was very happy with the care received. But they can't do anything about how long it takes to get in, get treated and get out. The staff here are doing their best. I spent nine hours here tonight but others in the lobby had been there 12 or more when I had just walked in the door and some were still there when I left. There were a few tense moments with people who lost their patience. Somehow witnessing that always reminds me to stay calm and not freak out. Somebody is always feeling worse than you are right now. The only reason someone is yelling is because they are caring for their loved ones. So take care of yourself while you're in here. Talk to the front desk staff. They can help you know what is going on with any lab work, test results. Ask them if it's ok to leave or if you should continue to wait. Whether or not now is a good time to go get some food. You gotta eat! So take a food break if you need to. Stay hydrated. There are nice bathrooms on the other side of the waiting room. It's very cold so bring a sweatshirt, even in the middle of summer! When it's crowded they bring out extra chairs that are hard plastic so bring something soft to sit on and something for lower back support like a rolled up towel if you need it. Because you will need to hunker down to and stay put for several hours to get through it. But we're never in the E.R. by choice.

However, the experience at the second-floor imaging desk was the opposite. The front desk clerk, Marcus J., would get a 0 stars. While trying to locate the MRI department, I was mistakenly sent to the wrong floor. When I approached Marcus for help, there was no greeting--which was fine--but his exaggerated frown and visibly annoyed demeanor were hard to ignore. I understand people have bad days, but his deliberately slow and dismissive attitude bordered on comical. He was unhelpful, uncommunicative, and acted like a petulant child. So glad my appt was on Marcus' floor. I've had great experiences with the X-Ray team on the 2nd but Marcus has no business being on t Northwesterns staff in any capacity.

She is always responsive and available no matter the hour. She is the most well networked doctor I've ever met. My daughter needed to see a plastic surgeon for a birthmark removal and I had trouble getting an appointment. Dr. Weems called the surgeon directly and I had an appointment the next day. I have many more stories like this highlighting the ways she's saved us. Best investment and decision we've made! We only have the best things to say!

You can get equivalent or better care at an urgent care clinic from a non-doctor. without having to spend thousands per year for nothing. Not a "concierge" doctor at all, save your money.
