Our 2005 Toyota Matrix had a transmission that was completely shot. We took it to them as my sister had a positive experience rebuilding her transmission there some time ago. They test drove the vehicle and told us the transmission was in really bad shape and that it would cost a lot to fix. They tried to source used parts to keep costs down, but such used parts are in short supply right now. Knowing right off the bat that it would be an expensive fix, they didn't bother actually looking inside (which would have cost us). Instead, they gave us various options and ideas/info and told us if we could find parts they would gladly help us by doing the work (quoted at a very fair and reasonable price). For all of their time and effort they didn't ask for a single cent - didn't charge us anything - and we left with a lot of helpful information and ideas/options regarding what to do moving forward. They could have charged us for a fix that is worth more than the car is worth, but they were upfront about not wanting to do this/it not being worth it. Very great people and a great business. Highly recommend. They deserve more than 5 stars!

It cost me $95 to hook it up to a machine that I can buy on Amazon for $60. Cameron the owner said he spent an "hour" ($120) after plugging it in to figure out the problem. I understand it's a business, but it is absolutely disgusting that you would over charge someone because I chose to go somewhere else. His prices are ridiculous!

They are also very timely in getting it done same day and providing updates as they happened. I also had a minor audio issue (loose aux input) and they had a contact who they called in to fix it same day and then add to the one invoice. That was convenient and saved me another appointment.

I had a friend having trouble with his automatic. The dealer, without even opening the hood, had…read morequoted $400 to repair it. I convinced him to take it to Bob Spick at Lawrence Transmission. Bob had him drive it into the shop, opened the hood, looked over everything, threw a fender cover on and reached down beside the engine. "There" he said "that should solve your problem. Take it around the block and try it." When he got back, my friend said everything was great. Bob wouldn't take any money, just the assurance that if anything serious turned up, my friend would come back to Bob. The vacuum line had come off the fitting; any good shop should have found that in an instant. Needless to say, my friend still uses Lawrence Transmission whenever he needs transmission or rear end work, and so do I. Now I see Chris Spick, Bob's son who runs the joint. If you're having transmission trouble, take it to him first.

We were first referred to Brant Transmission back in 2009 and from that point onward Chris became our "go to" mechanic. We have recently moved to another town which is several kms further away from Burlington, BUT we still continue to take our two vehicles to Chris for all our major repairs and mechanical maintenance.
