BUT I just happened be driving from Indy to Greenfield when this Wawa appeared in the distance and of course I had to pull over. For made to order food items, you put in your order on a screen and a little ticket prints out. Then you go pay at the cashier or self-checkout and come back to wait for your food. I opted for a an iced Carmel macchiato and a bagel with cream cheese. My brother tried the French toast breakfast sandwich. Everything was delicious. I'm glad I heard them announcing to another customer how it works since I'm not sure I would've figured that out on my own. When your order is ready, they'll call out your number. The coffee did come from a different side than the food so you may have to wait at both stations. It was super clean and well organized. There was plenty of parking between the front and the back of the building. But, we noticed there wasn't any seating inside or outside. I didn't interact with employees much since I ordered at the screen and did self checkout, but they were friendly and did a good job explaining how the process worked when making announcements.

It's pretty well known that Wawa only recently entered the Indiana market. What started as a New Jersey iron foundry in 1803, became a dairy processing plant in 1902, and then opened as a food market in 1964, is now a 750-strong chain of convenience stores with a strong presence in six states and a growing presence in others (including Indiana). Why is Wawa beloved? friendly employees. One-stop shopping for gas, coffee, and food. While this was really within the first 24 hours of being open, it was noticeably clean and I was pleasantly surprised by how spacious it was. Wawa offers fuel and EV charging. Wawa has a stunning amount of coffee options and I definitely tried their refreshers/rechargers. Dragon Burst is an absolute winner. Wawa has breakfast, lunch, and dinner options and the menu is surprisingly comprehensive. You can get a biscuit sandwich starting at $2.49 - lower than a ton of fast food joints (I'm looking at you, Hardee's). While gas stations/convenience stores are often known for their unhealthy foods, Wawa has quite a few healthy options. There's also a lot of baked goods - donuts, brownies, muffins, and even soft pretzels. I tried the donuts. Yum. I was pleased with accessibility features. I also noticed an accessibility statement on their website that I found pleasing. This was a first visit and it was unexpected. So, no photos. I was rushing to a conference and primarily looking for a snack and directions. I received both from friendly employees in a warm, winning, clean, and welcoming atmosphere. I don't go to Plainfield a ton, however, there's no doubt I'd stop back here when I'm in the area. While I still think the idea of a beloved gas station/convenience store is a little weird, There's an awful lot to love about Wawa.

Review of Kroger - Ongoing Check Fraud Issue…read more This is the second time my elderly father has experienced check fraud involving Kroger. That alone raises serious concerns. Most recently, he wrote a check for $17 at a Kroger store. The physical check was returned to him showing $17, and his receipt also confirmed the correct amount. However, when he later checked his bank account, $317 had been withdrawn. Despite numerous attempts to get this resolved, Kroger has offered nothing but delays, blaming their third-party check processing vendor. When contacted, the vendor pointed the finger back at Kroger. This circular blame game has gone nowhere. To be clear: a Kroger cashier effectively stole $300 from an elderly customer. And given this is the second time it's happened to him, it would be naïve to think this isn't a more widespread issue--one that may often go unnoticed, especially by elderly shoppers who rely on paper checks. As of now, there has been no resolution, no accountability, and no refund. Kroger needs to take this issue seriously and ensure better oversight of its check handling process, especially when vulnerable customers are being targeted.

Being that it is located in a gas station, there are an adequate amount of spots to park. The place does not have a grill, fryer or stove. All their food is refrigerated and/or microwaved. They serve items such as burgers, pizzas, pretzels, salads, subs, phillys, wraps and tacos. They also serve breakfast sandwiches. All the drinks that a usual gas station has are at your disposal to choose from. The pizza looked like it was self serve, as I saw a customer get her own slices and take it to the front register. I ordered one of their famous gyros. The meat is pre cut, pulled out of the fridge and nuked for a few minutes. The pita is swallowed up by the meat. There is so much meat. It could make 2 or 3 gyros out of it. I had to eat the meat down to get to the pita. The gyro was warm, but you could tell that it was not fresh and was reheated. It was flavorful though and really filled me up. I had it for lunch and ended up skipping dinner. I also had some of their potato salad, which they got out of a big container in their refrigerator. It was ok, nothing special though. To top my meal off, I got one of the large chocolate chip peanut butter cookies that were starring me in the face when I was ordering. It looked a whole lot better than it tasted. I definitely would not get one of those again. Even though there was a small dining area available. It did not seem very cozy and still felt like you were eating in. a gas station, so, I decided to take my food to go. The staff there were friendly enough and very welcoming. The pumps have new card readers and work well. Right now, High Street is under construction for the Spring and Summer of 2022. The intersection on which the station sits was completed last year. So entering and exiting off Indiana Ave is easy enough. The one driveway entrance that is closed will probably open up as soon as the sidewalk is done.

I love how inviting they are and at one point I stopped to talk about work related things with one of the night shift workers. Great guy! They are very clean generally, a good selection of fresh produce, and everything else well stocked from meat to daily necessities. Sometimes, despite being through the store countless times, I have trouble finding something... but I can usually get around quickly, and if the WiFi connection is strong enough the website tells me the exact aisle. lol! Happy to shop here, and I hope you will be too. :)
