It's incredibly loud, poorly spaced out, the carts are super slow and clunky, the food is subpar and the staff are miserable and apathetic. I've heard good things from past visitors, but sadly I couldn't have had a more opposite experience. Many games were broken down, as were the registration terminals, everything is over priced, the building was freezing, it was so LOUD I had to scream all night to talk to my friends... Let's make this simple: it's exceptionally rare I'll bother with a 1-star review because I'd rather focus on the positive and just write off meh experiences. We're all human, bad days happen, etc. To earn a 1-star you've really got work for it and miss pretty much every single bar that I could possibly lift for you to at least get a 2. So, here we are with the 1-star. Just skip it and save yourself the money. Kids might like it, but parents will significantly overspend for a very mediocre experience that could be much better elsewhere for a comparable, if not better, price. But there were lots of new arcade games being set up on the second race track, so they might be working to make the experience even better there. Cars fast and racing serious. Not to bad to find with Google Maps. Building looks really unassuming but inside it quite the party! filled with a variety of arcade games and giant racetracks. We made a reservation for 12:45PM (scheduled to race at 1:15PM) and glad we did as the place got packed at 1PM. Our first race was at 1:20PM with 1 other couple and second was around 2:00PM with 3 other random people. Had a nice break in between races to tour around. Great viewing platform for non-racers to see the action. Very pricey. 1 race was like $50. !st race was great and got a good time. Second race I hate to blame it on the car but I got passed so many times and my race time was 60% slower. Cool it's just a race against your own time but I wish we had microphones to talk to each other during the ~7 minutes race time. They have adult booster seats if you are shorter and can't easily use the petals. Arcade looks fun but expensive as well. Lots of food choices onsite as well and full bar if you're done racing. Several parties were going on (kids birthday and bachelor party) so definitely a hit with groups. There is a "juniors" race track that is right beside the adult one but is just an oval with smaller karts. Overall great experience but for the price I don't think I will be back soon. read more

We stopped in at speeders to buy a gift certificate and decided to try it out while we were there; in part because the staff were so accommodating and open. We were invited to walk around, have a look and make ourselves at home. We had a look and decided to try it. Lockers are free! That's a BIG plus as far as I'm concerned. It was our first time so we were instructed to watch the introductory video. It was very informative and pretty easy to follow. As someone who doesn't know gocart lingo and protocol I found it helpful. I like how clean the place is and that extends to the helmet system which involves wearing a kind of sleeve on your head that only gets one use and then is washed. This is under the helmet so one can feel fairly confident that the helmets are ok. And the helmet selection looked pretty well kept. We had lots of personalized attention and overall thought if our experience was typical then it's pretty good. read more

I went here for my birthday about two years ago. It was an absolute joke. The staff (at least the one o dealt with) was a complete idiot. There was 5 of us and we were told it would be about an hrs wait. So we waited. Then after our hour of waiting we were told we wouldn't get on. Very upset. While watching others rave on noticed that they were slowed and many were kicked out of their karts. No passing not bumping no touching other karts. This is not racing. Vroooom vrooooooom! Definitely a must for the race car driver at heart. I had never heard of this place until we looked it up to surprise a fellow Yelper for her birthday! It is one of few indoor go-kart places in Edmonton, so we thought we would take a spin on a Wednesday night. First off, the place was empty on a weekday evening. Which I might say, made the experience even better as it was exclusive! One race is $24 (14 laps). If you would like to do more races, than there is an Elite package available, which also gives you deals if you are a return customer. We just went with the one race, which was enough of a thrill for us! You get to choose your race name, choose a helmet and watch a safety video beforehand. It is all very organized and makes it a pleasant experience. Then your name comes up on the board with your associated car number. Then off to the races! Slower cars are supposed to stay to the left, and then faster ones can pass on the right. This is all good in theory, but a bit more difficult on the track as it is not that big and you never know what direction the go-kart in front may be heading. It was easier just to hold back for a bit, then go full force! At the end, you can take photos at the winner's podium! Also, the staff were super amazing and took photos for us --- even in the go-karts! Thank you so much for the excellent service. read more

We saw that they had a deal that you could pay fourteen dollars for twelve laps. It sounded like a great deal, but upon arrival they said that had we read more closely it was only for premium accounts... and they were really rude and abrupt, defensive, when they said it, so it seemed like it wasn't the first time they'd heard that. Worse, they claimed that it was on the website so that we should've known, and I just checked the website and lo and behold, nowhere does it say you need a premium membership! So to get the deal, we would need a premium membership at eighteen dollars, plus the fourteen, so that's thirty two dollars for twelve laps. Outrageous, but on the board I saw that twelve laps were twenty dollars. So, twenty dollars for twelve laps. Not as good as the fourteen... but not bad... but NO! You can't ride the carts without a membership, which costs seven bucks for the regular and eighteen bucks for the premium membership. So, that's become twenty seven bucks for twelve laps with the regular membership, and the big deal they advertised was fourteen. Apart from feeling like they were sneaky about the whole thing, they were rude about it! So, I can't comment on the actual 'prokarts' because there was no way I was going to pay that or put up with that. Update: They've now changed their website, possibly because of my complaint, although the asserted it was there well before it was. Cheap. read more

The first time we came here it was really fun and couldn't wait to come back. So a few days ago we had some spare time so we came back, it had been a few months since and not much had changed except for before the race they brief you with a video instead of an actual person talking to you. The video explains the meanings of flags and signs, and does mention the black flag will appear when someone crashes and you will be kicked off without refund. However when my girlfriend crashed accidentally that is what happened, they recently became more strict with their rules making it less fun, I understand if someone is crashing on purpose or keeps crashing accidentally. But the first crash by accident gets you kicked off the race, without refund. We also understand the video explained what would happen but we think it's unreasonable, the first visit here we both crashed a FEW time but we didn't get kicked off. It's unfortunate because it's really fun, but a waste of money if you crash 1 time even accidental. It's pretty expensive even for 1 race but if they would just be a little more considerate to people who aren't pro racers it would be well worth the money. I used to tell everyone how fun this was, but since our last visit I've been telling everyone what I said in this review and they all agree with me. So beware if you think you can avoid crashing into anything go for it. Otherwise be prepared to be embarrassed infront of a crowd of people as you walk off the race track. read more

Speeders is a ton of a fun, and has great potential to become a 5 star experience. This is not go-karting where you get to bump into people and the sides. It's meant to be a race, not bumper cars. The goal is to get your best time, and it really is quite a bit of fun. There are a lot of rules, and while I can appreciate rules for safety, it gets really annoying, really fast, when there are 10 people racing at once and yellow flags keep popping up, slowing everyone to a crawl. For the size of the track, 10 people going at once is a little much. Even 8 would be better. It seems that every time someone bumps into the side or drifts the yellow flag is out and we all get slowed down. It would be nice if everyone could just follow the rules, but of course that's not the case. Then you have the rule of keeping left so people can pass, and with 10 people at once you're lucky to even get a chance to pass as the course is not wide or long enough. The pricing is a bit exorbitant. You have to pay $16 to register (annual fee), and then one race is $20, 3 for $49, of 5 for $79. Let me say, one race will not be enough if you've never been. And the races are "up to 14 laps". I went 3 times, and while it was fun, $16 fee plus $49 for 3 laps is quite the price tag (my experience was free as it was with work). Overall, if you feel like spending the money to go, then do it. You'll definitely have fun. I just think that the course is too small for 10 people going at once. It really affects how fast you can go when you keep getting slowed down. read more

This is definitely a fun place to go with a group of people looking to have some fun. It's not the cheapest place in the world, but you get your money's worth. Your races are divided up into categories like qualifying and different race types, and you have a break in between each event. You do get tired, so the break is welcomed. It starts you off fairly slowly so that you can get used to the carts and the track, but be prepared for when they unleash the full potential of the cart...it is quite a difference. The staff explain things very well to you, and are on hand throughout your races if you have any..uh, problems - (read: crashes). This used to be one of my favourite things to do in the city. Excellent staff, excellent facility, very well set up. I couldn't even complain about the pricing, since one can easily see what an expensive operation this is to create and run for our enjoyment. Four years ago I would have given this place 5 stars in a heartbeat. However in the past year or so, the cart maintenance has seemed to deteriorate to the point that I consider it a good day if I get a good cart in one out of 3 races. This may not be terribly noticeable if you have never driven go carts before, but for those of us that have our "pro speed" license, it is extremely noticeable. What is worse is that the complaints about this from many of the "regulars" seem to have fallen on deaf ears. In a recent competitive race, my whole cart was chattering around the track since both of my front tires had large gouges in them. Before the race was over, I had my front left tire pop and go completely flat. My cart was replaced for the last two laps, but I was never offered a replacement race to compensate me for the first 11 terrible laps. If you are new to go-carting and just want to try something new, then by all means give it a try. As for myself, I will be spending my money elsewhere until the owner chooses to address this glaring issue. read more

I Have been here twice and really enjoyed the carts, they are fast. they could make the track bigger, there is a big empty space in the corner that isn't used for anything. also as it can be a up to an hour wait when its busy, they need more tv's, video games, foosball, to kill the time(since they have the space for this stuff) otherwise make the track bigger and it would be perfect. read more

I went to speeders and paid for one race for my family of 4. Not 5 minutes after we paid (before Speeders had actually done anything) my youngest child was obviously not ready to do it. I requested a refund and was told there are no refunds. Would have been great to know before we paid. Even the clerk wasn't aware of this policy until she phoned her boss to ask how to process a refund. What a joke and what poor customer service. Now I am out $100 read more

I came here with my staff for a 30-35 person party with Footlocker Canada. I really enjoyed dealing with them to get this setup done. they were accommodating to my every need. they even worked me out a great corporate rate. We essentially all got memberships upgrade to elite memberships which got all my staff free races on their birthday week which is great because every single one of my staff members really enjoyed it. Our package included 12 practise laps, 2x 12 qualifying laps and a 14 lap final race. we had medals and a podium pose at the end. I found this to be really detailed and organized on speeders staff's part. We got print outs after every race with racers stats which really gave all of us a picture of how we classified. it really instilled a competitive environment which is what I need managing a staff of 50 people in a retail store. it really bonded the team well as we saw team work on the track trying to qualify for the best time. We also booked a rather large room which accommodated all of our food and drinks along with all of our possessions. Id love to do this again, speeders was a great experience! Booked a bachelor party here. From the outside, it doesn't look like much but once you step in, these guys are definitely not messing around. The thing that stood out the most for me were the staff. Every line of staff, from the race marshall to the receptionist were exceptional. The receptionist were extremely friendly and helpful and the actual pit staff weren't just there to do their job. They actually talk to you about the races and are enthusiastic about your experience. The cool thing about Speeders is they change their track up every so often so it's always fresh and exciting. After every race, you get print outs of performance which I think is really cool if you're in a group and want to have bragging rights. The price is a bit up there ($69.99 for 3 races) but compared to the other places in the city, these guys take go karting pretty seriously and is definitely recommended for groups of 8 or more. read more

After a quick introduction to your car and the track you can speed around corners. The staff was helpful and there are free lockers to stash your valuables. Had a terrible experience at Speeders in Edmonton. My son attended a bday party here for his 14 year old friend. We triple checked that he made the posted height require of 5'1". He met the advertised requirement and so we sent him. Only for him to be refused to race. They told him his knees weren't bent enough. So he had to watch his friends from the sidelines the whole party. He has karted numerous times before on the adult karts at Fast Track with no issues. He has even raced in a professional kart of his own. But they didn't even ask him one question like "have you done this before?" And he met THEIR own height requirement!!! Very poor showing Speeders. Unless your kids are over sixteen or super tall forget it, staff is rude and they almost require adult supervision. In addition to the cost of the laps, they also charge you a yearly membership fee. Who doesn't love speed, and racing around in go karts? So much fun!! I went last night for the first time, the staff are awesome I didn't have 1 complaint about them.. So thank you for your awesomeness! This place is a blast! We just did a couple of races but could have stayed all day. While the track isn't that big and doesn't look that hard, the carts go fast and it can be pretty challenging. They also give you a printout with all sorts of data about your race times and break it down by lap, so each time you go you can try to beat your own times. Speeders Indoor Prokarts. "The best place for indoor professional go karting.", as quoted by the frequent radio commercials. So I thought why not drop by and check this place out. In reality it is quite the opposite. I went here with a couple of friends for a drop in race. The location itself is pretty much in the middle of nowhere and it's hard to actually find it. I was really disappointed and had higher expectations of this place, considering it was advertised as "professional". Now onto the actual racing experience. I've bought the 3 race deal along with the mandatory annual membership. The staff at the front seem friendly and professional, however it is a whole different story on the actual track. I used all three races on the same day, all of them were great however I can't say the same for other riders. Since most of the time all of my friends are either stopped or slowed down for no reason. The staff then told us that we were being a breaking safety rules, and that's the reason why we were slowed. I believe the real reason is because the staff member operating the go karts remotely was racist. The group of Caucasian people that were also in our races were the ones who were actually breaking rules and crashing into us and drifting. However he slowed US down because he was racist and really made our experience at Speeders like shit. I would never recommended coming here, actually should just boycott this place and just go to Whitemud Amusement Park. At least there they don't discriminate and you can actually have a fun time there. Overall this was not worth over $60 I paid, that's not including the cost of gas as well. read more

Had a lot of fun both times I've been. Little expensive but it is a great environment to go for a few laps. At the end you get a printout of your run and can compare times with the people in your group to see how you rank. This is really helpful if you're on the track with a bunch of people and don't necessarily get to race with just your group. Ensures bragging rights are awarded to the rightful party! Prokarts are fast and no one under the age of 12 is allowed to drive so it's usually a reasonable competition. I was a little upset that on my last visit they bunched me and my friend in with a large group instead of offering us the chance to wait and race on our own. Found that there were a few super cautious people and they weren't great at letting faster cars pass, but still a pretty good time. Be sure to bring extra footwwear as outdoor shoes are not allowed! read more

Staff was super rude. You need to pay a "membership fee" to ride their go karts. Ok, so after you walk away confused to why you paid $68 when the sign says 3 races for $50 you head to the Karts to suit up. Each race is 14 laps. The Karts are electronically controlled so they can set the speed. The first 5 laps are at boring slow speeds so you get use to driving. So that leaves 9 laps to have fun.....wait did I say have fun. Any time someone bumps a wall or spins out the whole track track is slowed down. If you have a group on there you will get forced to slow down maybe 4-5 times per race if you're lucky. I did two races and only got maybe 3-4 laps at full speed. Super lame!! Not only are the Karts lame, the people will kick you out if you try to have fun. If you drive around a corner hard and take it a bit wide and BUMP the BUMPERS they black flag you, which means you get the boot. If you accidentally bump into someone else while going into a corner etc they kick you out. So the whole point of Karting is to go fast and have fun yet you can't do either at this place. Then to add to that, they lecture you like a child after telling you how dis-respectful you are to their business. Our whole group got black flagged because two guys bumped a wall and then they wouldn't print out our race results. What a joke of a business. I will never go back here again based on the staff and how the races are operated. read more

I did not enjoy the ride here as much as I wanted to. I see "speeders" advertisements everywhere and decided to visit the place- but found that the track staff is so rude and arrogant. As a user previously posted, I got kicked off for accidentally crashing. I'd rather just go to Whitemud at least they let you crash in and not be ashamed. I was a fan of speeders but a lot of my friends and I have decided to switch back to the whitemud - they are cheaper and their karts aren't controlled which make it fun. Also, for all the "racers" i highly recommend stratotech. My opinion only- thanks! read more
