I actually had to pay more with a Speedee oil change coupon. The technician told me the reason was they did not have the regular oil change, only synthetic oil change or more expensive ones. Not wanting to waste time with another trip, I agreed to the synthetic oil. As a result, I had to pay more than expected, even with a coupon. When picking up my car and about to drive home, I noticed the oil level was not even reset to 100% and no sticker reminder posted on the windshield to remind me of the due date of the next oil change. I would NOT return to this shop the way they rendered their services today. read more

The service I received today was absolutely incredible. I came in with a problem regarding my oil/some dashboard issues and was expecting to be charged for every little thing. Instead, Yolanda met me at the desk and took care of me free of charge. She got Rick (an amazing technician) to check my oil, reset some tech errors, and treated me like a friend, and not a customer. She did not want any money...she only wanted to help a community member out. She did not know I was strapped for cash and how much I needed a good day. I will always come back here. Literally made it at 4:30 to get my car smog check. They close at 6PM. There was literally one person ahead of me that was already getting smog check and no other cars being worked on. The mechanic said it would take too long to get the smog done and that he didn't know if I wanted to wait. I don't get much days off of work and this was my chance to finally get this taken care of. I called and the lady on the phone said first come first serve so fine I made my way. Now that I told him I'm okay with waiting he says never mind I don't want to do it. Why would you even tell me if I'm okay with waiting if you're not even gonna take my car? I called ahead to get a quote on a oil change. They quoted me 39.99 for synthetic oil. I drove all the way down to get my oil changed but when I got there they wouldn't honor the price they gave me over the phone. The wanted to charge me 79.99. I explained that I was quoted a different price over the phone so I drove all the way down to Speedee to get the oil changed and now that im here, you want to charge more. this is a 0 Star comment only 2 "Star Smog" locations near by: didn't want to drive very far from home. stopped by to get a "Star Smog" at 8:15am today. went in & asked if i could get a smog & the lady at the desk said to pull my car in to the 3rd stall. then a BMW blocked my way from reversing & sat there Smog tech doesn't come in until 9:30am the cost for smog is $68 didn't want to wait & was way too expensive glad i drove to Capitol & Senter Smog Test Only!!! read more

So I went to this place to get an oil change. b technician did not replace the oil cap on my engine so oil spilled everywhere over my vehicle. I went back because ever since then my gas mileage has dropped by about 50 miles per gallon and come to find out it's my oxygen sensor and instead of them replacing it for free like they should have since they damaged my engine they wanted to charge me so therefore I went to an actual Toyota dealership and get it fixed. There was so much oil on my engine that it starts to burn throughout the actual car when I turn the heater on. the Toyota dealer said that I would have to pay another $500 for decontamination of my entire air flow system. other than Yolanda and Chris who told me specifically what the oil would do and why I was getting an O2 sensor error on his code reader there is no one else at that shop I would trust. in the end the actual manager Uriel started trying to tell me that I need to get a new alternator to fix my error. I'm now currently submitting paperwork to the state of California for bad business practices for a repair shop and even though I know that this will not give me any kind of legal recourse it at least sets the stage for civil court. So after this I will never go to another speedy again which is unfortunate, I have been to this location with three different cars. read more

I'm so disappointed with this location the level of customer service has scaled down completely. I have been a customer of this location for more then 8 years. What made me a loyal customer was fast service, quality and staff was well trained and very friendly when you had any concerns and guide you for options you my need. Even after I moved to the Campbell area I till drove to this location. To my surprise I was completely disappointed, disrespect and will not come back. When I arrived I was asked what kind of oil changed service I wanted. I normally answer the regular oil change please and have no problems the technician that help me answered in a rude manner "you mean conventional if you say regular we give you high mileage" and went on to say "you need to know what your talking about." I was taken back with his response and let it be because well he may be having a bad day. The service took 30 minutes by the technician. When I saw my car moved and parked I waited for the technician to take the paperwork to the window where the receptionist is located. I then approached the desk and the receptionist in the most rude and inconsiderate way said "do you have a question?" She looked annoyed and bothered. I said yes I just need to pay for my service and pointed to the window where my keys and paperwork were. She rolled her eyes and said "you need to wait I still need to enter that on my computer I will call you when I'm ready." I walked away and waited. She went on to ignore my paperwork and stared to have a conversation with another co-worker that went on for 15 minutes nothing to do with work I may add. it was clear to me that this receptionist was doing whatever she could to make me wait longer on purpose. Finally she grabs paperwork from the window and throws the keys on her desk in a aggressive manner. She call my vehicle and I approach, the first thing out of her mouth is "this is your car?? " for what I answered yes she looked even more annoyed. she had two trays on her window with paperwork of vehicles that had been finished. I'm more then sure she was trying to get the other paperwork and make me wait even longer. To her surprise she grabbed mine. I payed her and thanked her for her service I got no response not a thank you not a come again or even an apology for her disrespect. I don't know her name because no name tag was worn but she is Hispanic dark hair. No matter how bad your day may be there is no reason for this level of mistreatment towards a customer. It only takes one minute and no effort to be kind. As your job depends on the amount of clients that get their services here. It's unfortunate that this location is clearly losing more and more customers because of the staff. As I was waiting I was not the only one bothered by the service provided by this receptionist. After being a loyal customer of 8 years I will not be returning and will be looking for a new place to get my vehicle services done. read more

December 12, 2017 at about 3:00 pm I was going over next door to Walgreen Pharmacy store. I looked over to the speed store by Walgreen where I had my cars serviced for over 25 years. I parked and waited then a mechanic signaled me and I understood he asked me get the car closer. (since there was no one in the service area i pulled my car closer to service area) the mechanic then screamed at me get on the line. I asked why are you sceaming at me. The mechanic then screamed again get to the line using some profanity language. I obviously got upset another mechanic called himself the store manager advanced toward in a threatening manner asking, What you called my mechanic in no way He asked what the problem was. luckily i recorded the incident on my phone. It was a hectic day before Christmas. My in-law put diesel into Prius gas tank but didn't drive. I called tow truck to tow it from gas station straight to this shop since I did a few maintenance here before. It's just gas tank cleaning so I didn't pay attention to the estimate. However when we pick up the car, we're shocked by $770 labor charge plus $40 gas. I was told just a gas tank cleaning, nothing to do with fuel system. That's way over market price ( e.g., AAA Car Care Plus quoted $295 to clean gas tank prior to store discount). I felt this store took advantage of customer when they can, and doesn't treat customer with honesty. That'll lose a loyal customer. read more

I came in for a 17 point oil change today. I called ahead and Yolanda answered the phone. She was so friendly and inviting. I got there and they saw my van right away. First and foremost let me say the employees move like slugs. It's called SpeeDee Oil Change and asked how long the way it is and he said 45 minutes to an hour. Everyone here looks like they just woke up and it's already 9 a.m. everybody's walking around snacking on their morning breakfast not putting a rush on anything. If I'm not mistaken I think this is called SpeeDee Oil Change correct. If I could give this place zero Stars I would. I have religiously brought my car to this location for as long as I can remember, and so has everyone I know. I brought my car in a few days ago with what I thought was a problem with my battery or alternator. The shop manager did a volt test on my battery and quickly looked at my alternator and told me that there was not a problem with either. He then proceeded to tell me that he believed I had a mechanical issue with one of the wiring. He told me that it would cost me $120 per hour for a diagnostic that would take anywhere between 4 to 5 hours. I was dumbfounded I didn't have that kind of cash. So I left feeling defeated and took my car around the corner to Skips Tire and Auto Repair just for a second opinion. Boy am I glad I did that the gentleman there looked at my car did what was called a load test on my battery and told me it was nothing more than my battery that needed to be changed. Imagine my surprise and dismay that the gentleman at Speedee tried to get me to run a diagnostic on my car that would cost over $600 and that's just to a found the problem. I felt as if they were trying to pull a fast one on me because I had no idea what to do. I was told that any mechanic should know to run a full load test on a battery not just a volts test. I will be reporting this incident to the Better Business Bureau I feel sorry for the people that go here and get ripped off. It also makes me feel that I've has been ripped off in the past. For such a well-known business you would think they had more honesty and integrity in their work but from what I hear they're nothing but scammers. All I can do is thank God I didn't have the money to pay for the diagnostic and I feel bad for anyone else that has been scammed by them make sure you know what you're talking about before you go into this place if you still decide to patronize their business. I've had decent service here before but the new manager Kurt is going above and beyond to make things worry-free for a clueless guy like me. He took the time to point out various issues whereas other places might have you take their word for it. He made sure to reassure me that the radiator fluid they were using was the one specified for my car. Overall did not feel like I was being scammed and I got out of there in less than an hour with oil change, tune-up, battery-cleaning, radiator fluid and coolant refill. You know when it come's to car maintenance or car mechanic places in general, the focal point attribute I'm on the outlook for is honesty, which I believe this place has in spades. After a longs day work you dont want to bring your car into a shop and contemplate whether or not you need to be monitoring the guys working on your car to make sure they don't do anything bad to it. Which is why I been going here for about 7 years now for oil changes. They usually always do a great job, and its quick, which I think works well for anyone carrying around a busy schedule. A little more pricey then some other establishments though. The only real bad thing I can really say about them is once I went in with four valve stem caps and drove home and only saw two, but this honestly to me isn't a hanging crime since im sure it was accidental. I doubt they stole my valve stem caps, probably just a newbie making a careless mistake. Try them out if you want solid service and none of stereotypical car mechanic bs. read more

Went in today for an oil change. Time was 5:13 pm. The attendant came out at told me they weren't taking anymore cars at the moment. Confused, I asked what time they closed because from what I knew they closed at 6:00 pm. He confirmed they closed at 6:00, so they couldn't take my car 47 minutes before closing time. I have ever do the comment to any store, shop, restaurant..etc . But now I have to say something about this shop. This is the bad shop I have ever been. They are not honest to customer about what's wrong with your car. They just want you to pay to fix your car with any reason even it's not necessary . I went here couple time just changed oil I knew it and this time it's the last time I will make decision not coming back again. I went there this morning and did the smog check they changed me 60$ just one time and said the car fail and said I have to pay more for the fix, I took the car back I went to another shop, and they check it just was the cap of the gas it didn't closed tight therefore the light came on. I like coming to the SpeeDee on Capital because they offer great service. I always get the car when promised and there is a Wendy's, Popeyes and a Starbucks in the same parking lot. There is also a Ross across the street. All great places to wait if I do not feel like waiting in their waiting room. read more
