Well it was weird to be traveling and have your check engine light come on... Then I look up and realize I am 3,000 over due for an oil change. I stopped in right before closing and everyone was very nice. The oil change was reasonably priced and quick. No one tried to sell me an air filter that I didn't need. read more

Very friendly and quick. I know this may sound like a complaint I'm going to share, but it is a compliment and the reason why I will go back. While checking my fluids they accidentally broke my transmission fluid cap. They could have said nothing, leaving it to be discovered next time someone tried to open it. They didn't ... they brought it to my attention and apologized. They also immediately ordered me a new one. Followed up the next day to say the part would take a couple of days to arrive. It arrived the next day. They called me immediately. I went in and they replaced it quickly. They were super nice and honest. Honesty guarantees my repeat business. read more

Very disappointed. I came in needing only a tire rotation. He checked under the Jeep & assessed that they could rotate them. He then mentioned that it's been 5,000 miles since my last oil change. The vehicle still shows 48% oil life, but okay. Air filter is dirty. Okay. After changing my oil that didn't need done, they came back out and said they could not rotate the tires after all. Totally took advantage of me! Don't let your wives/sisters/daughters go to this place :-( read more

This place does get you in and out quickly. I have never had any major problems here. A few minor things occurred that I raised my eyebrow over. The clock in my old car didn't work so I bought one that attaches with tape. It was attached to the display of radio since the display doesn't work. They somehow manage to knock it off. I found it on the floor of my passenger side. I forgot that they vacuum the floors so I had a few items on the ground. The lighter that was on the floor was gone but the other items where placed in my cup holder. If one of the people needed a lighter that bad then they are welcome to it. The last time I was in I decided I put all my items in my center console just to be safe. read more

This is a local chain of oil change stores with locations in (at least) CU, BloNo, and Decatur. I go there exclusively now and recommend them. What sealed the deal for me was when my car was making screaming screeching squealing noises due to belt issues. I could have fix them for a couple hundred, but instead gritted my teeth for the time being. The technician at Speed Lube offered to adjust the belts, which gave me a temporary solution, for $5. Wonderfully well worth it until I bit the bullet and had it fixed for a fortune. Speed Lube staff members are friendly, efficient, and priced about right. I never feel sticker shocked when I check out, and while they do point out maintenance issues as they come across them, it doesn't leave me with the nasty aftertaste of upsell. read more

Definitely the fasted oil change I have experienced in Bloomington-Normal. The staff is friendly enough and seem to be honest, but the oil change still costed a little more than I was used to at $39 (high-milage oil). They have a lot of bays. I've never had to wait to get in. The lobby is not the greatest, with outdated magazines, awkwardly placed chairs, and old coffee, but like I said, you won't be spending too much time in here, thankfully. read more

This is my go-to oil service place in Bloomington. They are typically very quick but are busiest during the times you'd expect (5-6PM and lunch). I think it costs about $25 and for another $4 they'll top off all the fluids and vacuum the floors. read more

I pulled in yesterday for an oil change. I thought I was being waived to bay number one because the guys were waiting inside. When I pulled up they were signaling stop. Then one guy walked into the office and turn off the open sign. Then three guys just stood there and looked at me waiting for me to leave. I looked down at my clock and it was about 3:56 PM and they must close at four. They didn't even have the courtesy to come out and apologize that they were not going to take me that it was too close to closing time. It was very rude. Cant rate it a 1 or 2 star because I technically didn't get service done. But at 4:50 pm on 6/19/18 I pulled up along with 3 other cars and quite openly saw three employees all separately say "God damnit". Guys, you still had an hour till close, it's not like three cars showed up at 5:58, two minutes before close. read more

Worth it to go there. As they mentioned, you'll get oil change in 10 to 15 mins. But you may have to wait for to get your number (10 -15 mins more) depending on rush. read more

What a fabulous experience! When getting my oil changed, I was told that my transmission fluid was low. They couldn't stock it, as this fluid can only be purchased from Nissan. When I told them I was leaving town in the morning, they strongly suggested that I get more transmission fluid before I left town. Here's where they went way above and beyond! If I bought the fluid and brought it back, they would get me right in and top it off. And, they did just that! I was told that I could stay in my car, as I'd be good to go in a few minutes. And, they didn't charge me anything for this service! They are simply the best! read more

Very great place for a quick oil change I was in and out in about 15 minutes mind you they also detailed the inside of my car, cleaned my windows, and switched both air filters as well as ran a quick diagnostic check. The guy i talked with told me alot about my Monte Carlo and seemed very knowledgeable and the whole place thanked me when I left. They always welcome me with a big smile and ask how everything's going. And always answer any questions I have. They give you small town customer service that's hard to find in bigger towns. Seriously quick oil changes. I went during a busy time after I get of work (around 4:30p) and they still finished in 15 minutes. I've had problems at other places with employees condescending to me and trying to upsell, but no such problems here. The staff is great. I don't go anywhere else. I went to this Speed Lube when I first moved into Bloomington and liked them. Then I moved across town and went to a different place and it was eye opening! This particular Speed Lube is the best! The guy who owns it is really kind and trustworthy, and all the people who work there are too - they are very professional and helpful. I've never had then try to upsell me with unnecessary parts and they always have referred me to good places when I've needed repairs. Now, no matter where my house is, I drive across town to this location. I'll not go anywhere else! read more

I just stopped at Speed Lube for my oil change because it's close to my apartment and I'm glad I did!!! They are some of the most friendly staff and also great conversationalists. I had an old parking sticker on my rear window that I needed to get off and they happily took the time to scrap and clean the smudges off. Went there this morning and was truly impressed. Was greeted right away and told their prices and what they offered for services. I got the extras, as I wanted my tires checked and my window washer was empty. I don't think I was in the waiting room more than 5 minutes and they were done!! Holy cow. Wish they would open one up in Az.. No games with "this looks bad, or this should be done". Just a great job, done right and very fast. I highly reccomend this site. read more
