After my son kept getting in trouble at school, a friend told me that he sounded like a 'sensory…read morekid'. I didn't know what that meant, but she suggested that he have an OT evaluation. After having an evaluation at kidventures, the OT took the time to explain Sensory processing disorder and she gave me lots of resources that my husband and I could implement at home. My son loves going to "play" there and he talks about the "big gym" all the time! His OT did a school visit and kept in contact with his teacher to help her understand his behaviors and sensory needs. It's amazing that he can sit still through circle time now and is much better at following directions. He is even more coordinated and able to keep up with his friends during sports activities. The best part has been that his confidence has grown and we are so grateful for the services here.

Attending therapy services at Kidventures has been a game-changer for our family. I had been at…read moreanother therapy center for several months, with no noticable improvements in my daughter. I was starting to doubt the value of occupational therapy when someone referred me to Kidventures. From the initial evaluation, I could tell that they GOT my daughter. They REALLY SAW HER, so the plan that was developed was specific to her needs/goals. They knew what/when/how to tackle the issues to help her develop. I was included every step of the way and encouraged to participate. I received valuable feedback after every session and was given suggestions for things I could do at home to further help. My daughter is now a different little girl-she's mastered so many skills and continues to amaze me with her progress! Her physical abilities, as well as the ease with which we now move though our lives (those difficult transitions are sooo much easier!) make for happier days immediately and long term hope for a bright future. I can't thank Jen, Angie and the staff at Kidventures enough. If you are a fellow parent of a child with special needs, I know you want to trust your child to capable AND caring hands. That's what you'll find at Kidventures!

My little one saw Erin Gonzalez here for speech therapy for six months. Three-four stars for the…read moretherapy content and one for the billing nonsense at the end. Erin is very sweet with children and kiddo enjoyed the speech therapy. She had a few tips that stuck and my little one's enunciation - which wasn't horrible, but was a bit behind peers - did improve during that time. At the end of six months, based on feedback from kiddo's teacher and some other educational figures, as well as my /grandparents/coparent's perception of moderate improvement, we decided to close out the therapy sessions. Erin looked a bit disappointed when I told her the final date, but was professional enough. She insisted that she would "re-assess" progress during that day's session, instead of going over the usual consonant sounds. She sold it a bit - kept talking about it - and I agreed, thinking it was harmless enough to have a written record of progress. The initial assessment at our first visit had been priced the same as the ensuing therapy sessions, so I wasn't worried about pricing. Erin went over her "re-assessment" of kiddo upon our return. My initial perception was that she showed the need for speech therapy as more extreme than assessed at our first visit. There was a minimal nod in one segment to minor progress. There were multiple areas where the report seemed to show regression. It was a bit alarming and my first thought was that she was far less happy about our quitting than she had expressed. Thinking I might not remember the initial assessment accurately, I compared the two reports when I arrived home. My initial instinct was correct. The second surprise arrived a month or two later. A bill (despite our having paid the usual co-pay at the visit) for THREE TIMES the co-pay. Almost $200. Because Tesoros had billed insurance differently, this "re-assessment" had been assessed differently in connection with our deductible and the insurance wouldn't pay. Calls to Tesoros (it took a week of daily calls to get a person on the line) resulted in a circular explanation of how they bill re-assessments. They couldn't explain why it would *need* to be done on a child's next-to-last visit, or why it was billed at a higher rate and filed with insurance differently than the initial assessment. After months of going back and forth with them, I've reported them to my insurance company's fraud team, paid the bill to avoid a credit report ding, and am reviewing them here. It's left us with a very sour impression of what was, otherwise, quite a harmless and neutral experience.

Both my mother and I ended up working with her. Amy is so gifted, that even though I live in California, she is by far my favorite practitioner to work with. When possible, I will wait to see her, rather than see someone where I live. She has helped me with an array of issues over the years, physical pain, emotional pain, physical alignment issues, concussions, and general imbalance. Every time I see her, I feel so much better. I truly think she is a miracle worker, and everyone I've referred to her, has expressed a similar thought. I know I've said this to her many times, but I truly believe that people who have the opportunity to see her, are not only healing themselves, but helping to curb off future disease. AND she is such a joy to get to be with.

It's almost impossible to find aqua therapy in Austin but I got very lucky here. I had been in…read morethis type of therapy before so I knew what to expect going in. I was more than pleasantly surprised. There were locker rooms and many places to sit around the pool (which for anyone who has great difficulty walking outside a pool is a god-send!) Both therapists I have had, Hunter and Patti, are engaging, knowledgeable, patient, and responsive. (They are both also a hoot! :-) Hunter even lets me choose the music while I am there!) In just 2 months I have had significant improvement! It was fairly easy to get reserved pool time that works with my limited schedule and they are very easy to work with, both personally and insurance-wise. I have never used the land-based therapy but they seem to have an abundance of great equipment and therapists. I can't recommend them enough!

I attended aquatic therapy, and after five sessions I developed a foot fungus. Only positive experience was that a therapist was great. I contacted the facility multiple times and also brought this issue directly to the attention of the front desk. I never received a response, which made me feel that my concerns were not taken seriously. This facility came highly recommended, so I expected a much higher standard of cleanliness and care. The lack of cleanliness was noticeable from my very first visit, and despite raising concerns, nothing was addressed. I am extremely disappointed, especially since I would have liked to continue my therapy during what has already been a very difficult year.
