I cannot say enough good things about speech n motion. We see miss rebecca, and she has been a miracle worker for my son. We have been to so many other speech facilities, and had really bad experiences. I feel so fortunate to have found speech n motion. Miss Rebecca has helped my non verbal son to say so many words. She has also been working with him on his AAC device, she has advocated for him with his school team, and attended school meetings to advocate for his speech services. Helping children with communication is a true act of love for miss rebecca and her team. My son's last 2 speech therapist were discharging him because he wasn't making progress. They didn't believe he could do more, and miss rebecca truly believes in my son. I couldn't ask for more. read more

first off, if you are reading these, you may be looking for a place for your child to get speech therapy, maybe have some questions if speech is right, or might just be in the curious stages of speech. id like to tell you you are in the right place! i was referred to speech-n-motion from a friend who also is a speech therapist. i was in search of someone who specialized in apraxia for my then, 20 month son. we had been receiving speech once per week through regional center but after doing intense mama research after learning of his childhood apraxia, i learned and knew he needed more! i cannot say enough great things about all the ladies who practice at this clinic! weekly we see Marissa and Amanda, and we have also seen Rebecca for some make up sessions. All three have made us feel so comfortable and they have always loved on our super active hyper crazy cute son! :) But back to speech, they all have been so crucial in his speech development, including some guidance, homework, and training for us parents. I have loved being included in each of his sessions, its helped me as a parent learn how to prompt or push him. I have laughed, smiled, and cried with them as we have watched special moments occur, like saying his name for the first time recently, finishing a full word rather than a sound, and going from imitation to independent words. When we first learned of Maddy's diagnosis it felt like a punch to the gut! Hearing that he "MIGHT have words" crushed me.... but man I am so thankful that after that, we were connected with this place. Appreciate everything about Speech n motion! My son sees Amanda and Marissa and it has helped him so much. He went from barely saying 20 words to full sentences in a matter of 4-6 months. They are also helping us with his eating habits (picky!). Initially I didn't realize that could be part of the therapy but I appreciate it because I am pretty lost on how to help him want to expand his diet. My son has significant speech and language delays and uses an iPad with an augmentative communication program (AAC) to communicate, called Proloquo2go. Rebecca has been able to help increase his sentences to 3-5 words and help him improve his use of verbs and adjectives instead of just nouns. She has taught him communication turn-taking and how to request items instead of just grabbing toys and books. We've noticed so much improvement since coming here over the past year, and our son really enjoys seeing Rebecca. She always has a big smile on her face and really loves what she does. read more

I did not want to write this place a bad review but they left me no choice but to warn other parents about their practices. My son's daycare suggested he get a speech evaluation so I scheduled one with Speech-n-Motion. When I called and scheduled his evaluation they tried to set up therapy sessions when my son was not evaluated yet. I was also told this was a "free evaluation and it's also listed on their website but that's a lie. They bill insurance and not you. My son spent 30 minutes with Amanda and she said he had a large vocabulary but still insisted on speech lessons. At this point, I took my son for a second opinion because I felt like they saw my son as a dollar sign and not a child. My son scored above average on his second evaluation, which was 1 hour. When I spoke to the staff at Speech-n-Motion I discussed the two evaluations and what I thought was best for my son. I asked if they would do 1-hour sessions, every other week to work on I thought my son could improve in expanding his eating habits and asking for what he wants; not so much speech. I was told he needed to come every week for 1 hour or take cancellations appointments and those are the only options. I told them child therapy is meant to meet children where they are at in their development and not what a provider can bill insurance for or the needs of the facility. I just received an EOB from my insurance company and they billed my insurance $600 for what I was told was a free evaluation and for two "physicians' fees". He never saw a physician and the evaluations are apparently not free. Be careful with this place! This is not how a child should be evaluated or treated. read more

We've been with Rebecca and Amanda for over a year now and I can honestly say it's been nothing less than transformative. I was hesitant bringing my two-year-old son to speech therapy as most family members disagreed with my gut instinct that he may need some help finding his words and that he would "grow out of it." He would "talk when he's ready." I didn't feel the same. Luckily, I found the absolutely wonderful therapists at Speech n Motion and we developed a plan together to help my guy find his words. He went from saying maybe two words to full sentences over the course of a year. It was certainly not an overnight transformation but with the support, knowledge and patience of these wonderful women at Speech n Motion he's now almost completely caught up with his peers. Also, because all of the sessions are rooted in play - he enjoys coming every week! My biggest takeaway is not only the tools and support they gave my son - but the knowledge they imparted to me to help him at home. Our daughter didn't begin speech therapy until she was a little older; after we realized her irregular speech patterns were not going to fix themselves. By luck we found Rebecca! At that time Rebecca was still working in private practice. After the year that our daughter spent with Rebecca there and the progress we saw in Anna's speech, we eagerly encouraged Rebecca to reach for her dreams and open her own clinic-based therapy center. We would follow her through it all, and happily! Because of Rebecca's knowledge, patience, planning, thinking outside the box, playing, on going learning and hard work our daughter is no longer hindered by her speech. She still works at it every day, but she is now sure of herself and of her speech, and she can always be clearly understood. We are excited for the day that our speech time with Rebecca comes to an end, but only because we know Rebecca has helped our daughter become the self-confident young lady she is now. read more

Our nearly four year-old started speech with Rebecca last December and in six months we, and our extended family, noticed a huge improvement in his speech. Further, he always looked forward to going to Miss Rebecca's office. She made it fun and engaging, and there was never a struggle to get him to go. She had a similar effect on my particular seven year old.
