We paid $500 per child for intake assessments, only to discover there was no immediate availability for actual instruction. Months later, when a teacher was finally assigned, we were told she was not the right fit and lacked expertise in the area our child needed most--ELA. Their communication was inconsistent, their promises misleading, and overall, the experience felt transactional rather than student-centered. Despite the polished sales pitch, our experience reflected a lack of professionalism, accountability, and genuine concern for our child's education. Be wary of vague assurances and shifting explanations--they always seemed to have an excuse but never a real solution. Ultimately, we found a far better alternative--a certified teacher at a local elementary school who specializes in ELA and comes to our home for a quarter of the $150 per hour E3 charges. Since working with her, our son has made tremendous progress and grown by leaps and bounds in his ELA skills. Save your time, money, and frustration--look elsewhere for real, caring, and qualified support.

Today was my first visit and I didn't have time to see everything, so I will come back this weekend. What I did see was some extraordinary embroidery work. The people who work at the institute introduced themselves and approached me with inspiring information about the art when they saw me looking at it and heard that it was my first visit. I love this place! I agree with the other reviewer that it feels warm and inclusive and inviting. No attitude here. Can't wait to come back.

Each grade offers children to work at their own pace, and children can learn curriculum in reading/math up to two grades above each grade they're in without a competitive feel between the children. NO IPADS which is amazing since all public schools use that now as a learning tool and I'd rather my daughter not learn via tapping her finger on a screen. There is an intentional effort to have healthier food options at events, ordered school lunches, birthdays in class, aftercare snacks, but there is also no judgement amongst parents or between admin and parents. They offer extracurricular classes for kids in TK and beyond. My daughter does keyboard and dance once a week after school, and it's really nice, she just stays an extra half hour and I pick her up when it's done, and she LOVES them. The aftercare program has been amazing compared to the other Montessori we went to prior to ECDS. We absolutely love our teachers this year, along with the extracurricular teachers we've met. Ms. Hayes is the new principal but has worked at the school for over 10-15 years, and she is just wonderful, caring, dedicated, and knowledgeable. It's a really good feeling as a parent to have the principal and teachers open and welcoming of communication, and allowing us to be involved with our child's experience at school. Feel free to DM me on Yelp if you have any questions, I'd be happy to answer them!

My son is very complicated to say the least. He is ASD, TBI, severe auditory and visual processing, high sensory integration, Irlens Syndrome, extreme anxiety, dyslexia and does not trust anyone. We have not been successful anywhere until here at ELC. Lynda got him in every way and I was taken back. I didn't have to tell her his needs or what we have found that worked for him. She told me and I kept saying yep that's it!!!! She understands how auditory and visual processing affects the ability to learn. They know when to push but not to much. They are looking at body language, fidgeting, behaviors to make sure he is okay. They work with you and your child not against you. One saying that really sticks with me is when Lynda said to me," we are not going to force him to learn our way there are over 20 ways he can learn we just need to figure out which one works best for him." As you can tell I highly, highly recommend ELC. I have referred other parents that have been so frustrated with the access to learning and all live me for recommending ELC. We relocated from San Francisco to San Diego and moved into a home with a pool, so making sure our kids were safe around water was one of my top priorities. I actually scheduled swim lessons for our daughter, Emmy, with Krista before we even moved here! Emmy started lessons when she was 2, continued again the next summer at 3, and this past summer our son Hayes joined in at just 1.5 years old. Krista has such a gift with young children -- she's patient (yet firm), calm, and knows exactly how to make them feel comfortable and confident in the water. We've seen incredible progress each summer. Both kids have not only learned essential water safety skills, but they also love being in the pool now. The peace of mind knowing my young children are safe around water is truly priceless, and it makes living in Southern California (and being around so much water) so much less stressful. Swim Synergy has been such a wonderful experience for our family, and we're already looking forward to lessons again next summer!
