I took him once every week (or sometimes two) and over a period of 18 months she fixed my son's rather serious speech impediment. When we finished treatment, we worked with an orthodontist to widen his palette, at which point he was completely "cured". His speech now is beautiful and normal and you would never guess that he had a problem. I have the highest respect for Dr. Agin. It was not easy to drive to her office each week with my 3 kids, as well as do the "homework" at home with him each week that he hated. But it was absolutely worth it. She is straightforward, very professional and incredible at her chosen profession.

Every visit, we notice progress. My daughter used to play only by herself, but now we see her becoming more independent and interacting with Lia, which fills our hearts. As a mom of a child on the spectrum, I know how hard it can be. My daughter doesn't have friends, but when we come here, she has one. In other spaces, the stares that come with her stimming can be so difficult to ignore, but here at SPL, we feel safe, accepted, and not judged. Our district contracted with your organization, and at the time of enrollment, we and our district were not made aware of the strict two-year contract policy that restricts the RBT from continuing to work with the same student. Allow me to provide some context. My son is a 17-year-old nonverbal individual with severe autism. He is extremely shy and requires a significant amount of time to build trust with someone before they can enter his personal space. Unfortunately, during my recent meeting with Dale Young, it became evident that no exceptions could be made to extend the contract of the current RBT with whom my son has developed a strong bond and trust. He kept stating that he firmly believes that it's important that they are able to work with others we agree as well we are seasoned parents. He's 17. There is rotation happening already in the classroom everyday. I just wanted him to have the best last two years of high school as possible and not have to have a transition happened twice. So at the end of the day, your company and Dale Young do not taken to consideration of the individual human. By this decision by Dale Young and your policy is going to cause extreme regression and depression anxiety on my 17 year-old son. I left the meeting with feeling like I was talking to a AI. Most impressively, she thinks about your kid's development holistically - from hearing to eating, sleeping, learning, emotional/behavioral matters - all to understand the potential root causes of speech issues. She's essentially a one-stop-shop resource that provides you a comprehensive - yet targeted(!) - treatment plan...all in under 30 min/week! :) She quickly assessed that our 3-year old needed (i) a hearing test and (ii) to see an ENT for ear tube surgery, which leap-frogged his speech progress nearly overnight (seriously). Even post-surgery, she inquired about his sleep and eating - which we were having challenges with (but I didn't think were related!) - and she recommended a follow-up with our ENT to confirm if anything else is physically inhibiting him. Whether it's being flexible with last minute scheduling changes, providing me talking points so I can have richer conversations with my son's doctors, or recommending Daniel Tiger episodes to prepare my son for surgery - she's a TREMENDOUS resource and I feel so lucky we found her!

Due to…read moretransportation challenges, we were recommended virtual sessions through Zoom/Google Meet with Taylor Whiting, and it has been an amazing experience. My son absolutely loves his sessions with Taylor. He has a very bubbly, active personality, and she does a wonderful job keeping the lessons engaging and fun through different games, activities, and videos. What I appreciate most is how flexible and attentive she is to his interests. If he loses interest in a specific activity and wants to play with one of his own toys instead, she happily joins in and incorporates vocabulary and learning opportunities related to the toy he's focused on. The office staff have also been incredibly easy to work with. They are informative about openings and availability at each location, and they communicate proactively whenever in-person or virtual spots become available. I am so grateful my son is enrolled in these classes. I've seen a huge improvement not only in the number of words he knows, but also in his confidence and eagerness to learn and try new words.
