We were really happy with how they modified their lesson plans and sourced individualized content designed to keep a 4-year old engaged despite being onscreen. Indeed, our daughter looks forward to her Speech lessons - it's like a video call from a friend during a time when her contact with friends is limited. I took him once every week (or sometimes two) and over a period of 18 months she fixed my son's rather serious speech impediment. When we finished treatment, we worked with an orthodontist to widen his palette, at which point he was completely "cured". His speech now is beautiful and normal and you would never guess that he had a problem. I have the highest respect for Dr. Agin. It was not easy to drive to her office each week with my 3 kids, as well as do the "homework" at home with him each week that he hated. But it was absolutely worth it. She is straightforward, very professional and incredible at her chosen profession.

Most impressively, she thinks about your kid's development holistically - from hearing to eating, sleeping, learning, emotional/behavioral matters - all to understand the potential root causes of speech issues. She's essentially a one-stop-shop resource that provides you a comprehensive - yet targeted(!) - treatment plan...all in under 30 min/week! :) She quickly assessed that our 3-year old needed (i) a hearing test and (ii) to see an ENT for ear tube surgery, which leap-frogged his speech progress nearly overnight (seriously). Even post-surgery, she inquired about his sleep and eating - which we were having challenges with (but I didn't think were related!) - and she recommended a follow-up with our ENT to confirm if anything else is physically inhibiting him. Whether it's being flexible with last minute scheduling changes, providing me talking points so I can have richer conversations with my son's doctors, or recommending Daniel Tiger episodes to prepare my son for surgery - she's a TREMENDOUS resource and I feel so lucky we found her!

The positives- Kelli is immediately available for afternoon appointments - something that is very rare in pediatric occupational therapy in the Bay Area without a long wait. Our child really enjoys the sessions and loves the gym space. What needed improvement- Communication - Kelli was responsive during onboarding, but communication became inconsistent and at times difficult. Kelli has strict and shifting guidelines about how and when she prefers to be contacted, whether by text or email, and even which days she prefers messages. These evolving expectations have been difficult to navigate and at times felt unnecessarily rigid. Measurable Progress - The therapy felt very general, without clear goals or a structured plan. Kelli discouraged a formal assessment, and her initial screening didn't lead to a defined treatment path. We were hoping for more targeted support and a stronger sense of progress. She also seems to sometimes have trouble recalling past session activities, which raises concerns about tracking and continuity.

I was sadly unimpressed by Oak Bloom OT. We took my 3yo for an based on a recommendation from…read more school and were able to get an appt the next week with a very new OT (less than a year in practice). She was friendly but when we arrived she immediately said, bye to me and asked me to wait outside. I felt this was very strange and since being at a new OT center, have learned it is not typical to separate a young child (3yo) from their caregiver right from the start. However, I stayed outside and felt my son was safe there. When we met to discuss her findings the meeting was just a disaster. She had nothing prepared, she just read from her clinical notes (which we had already seen), didn't go over the sensory profile results, couldn't give a straight answer on anything we asked, and we ended up having to lead the meeting and set next steps. We changed OTs that afternoon. I understand being new in the health care field, as I have been there myself. But with proper oversight these kind of meetings that completely destroy any trust or confidence that was built can be avoided. A few more practical items: - parking is on the street which is fairly easy in the mornings - the stairwell to get up to the office is very narrow and dark, and my son immediately was like, uh no. - they won't provide any ICD coding (even functional) so you can't submit for insurance reimbursement. Overall it was a waste of money for us, unfortunately. I'm very glad other parents have had so much better experiences for their little ones!
