If I could give no stars, I would. We have had nothing but trouble with our system installed in November 2019. We had customers calling in getting "this number has been disconnected" and busy signals. We have never had the warehouse phones ringing or able to be answered. The customer support does TRY to help but if they cannot fix your issue, they just close the ticket. They sent us replacement equipment months ago, never dispatched a person to install even tho they claimed they did. We finally had to go elsewhere to get phones that would work in our warehouse. Also, they claimed they could port our numbers, but in reality they did not do that. They actually - it appears- set up a number to forward from and not enough lines for that to happen if we had multiple customers calling in at once. Now Spectrum Voip refuses to admit that they cannot fix the issues and cancel the contract. They want us to pay them 2500.00 to leave. PLUS they are still trying to charge us a monthly charge for our numbers, which were ported away from them almost 2 months ago. Their customer service "upper level mgr" refuses to acknowledge our issues but instead says they will fix them! Over 18 months of my employees being paid by ME to deal with these phones and these multiple tickets being opened and closed without resolution is way too long. I have filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau. read more

If it were possible to give zero stars I would. This company is a joke. They have ZERO customer service skills. Their techs are rude, incompetent, and poorly trained. Default answer to phone issues is "Oh, we don't manage that for you". If you manage to get past that the next option is to pay a large fee to have someone come look at your system. I have multiple emails for various cases that say a follow up was needed and no one ever follows up. Better off doing it yourself than going with this company. We were given lots of promises to get us to switch our business phone system over to SpectrumVOIP. Every potential problem we brought up was solved elegantly by the sales rep (who was never heard from again after she got a signature). THIS HAS BEEN A MESS AND A HEADACHE FROM DAY ONE! The two week evaluation period expired before we were able to use the system. Now, we are over three months in. We have internet down, missed calls - and the ability to take calls is the only way we earn money. and we have been unable to use our credit card machine on too many days to count. The "support" staff provides no support at all. The only live people you can get on the phone are those who collect your money. This might be a coming technology, but it's not here yet - at least not with SpectrumVOIP. read more

I have called Spectrum VOIP so many times to let them know that our calls are not being pushed from the call queue to our technicians. Every single time I call they say they will "escalate" the problem to their "engineers" and nothing gets resolved. I have been waiting for months and months for a fix and it is starting to affect our business because of long call wait times. It is extremely frustrating. In my honest opinion, if you care about your business I would stay far far away from this company. They do not make your issue a priority and when you do call to make a change to a setting they make 100 mistakes before getting it right. I should upload the exact quotes to show what I mean. Do these sales people just make up numbers as they go along just to lure in customers? Proceed with caution with Spectrum VoIP and fully understand they are not part of Spectrum/Charter Communications, which my company has been a very satisfied customer of. They make cold sales calls and do not disclose that they are a separate company from the ISP with the same name. Sure at their first demo they clearly state that they are separate and have been using the name Spectrum longer but now that they already carved time out of my schedule I actually heard them out. Now they have a product specialist showcasing the features, which to me seem like features that all hosted VoIP systems have. They also throw these heavily inflated numbers out there to show how much cheaper they are than other hosted VoIP providers and I even had to bust them out stating that no business I know of that uses my current hosted VoIP provider pays that much but they use that as leverage to make the sale. Then when they send me the quote saying its lower than what we had talked about during the demo. Something was off and then I noticed they were quoting for a 5 year equipment lease, not a quote for service but yet they claim the service is included which totally contradicts the demo which they stated that you had to use their brand new Yealink desk phones, conference phones and other adapters needed to keep business operations going for free as long as you pay for their service. I believe they have a very clever approach but my theory is that they rope you into a 3rd party equipment lease that isn't part of their risk free trial. So I read a couple reviews on Yelp and it sounded like I was about to get myself into a risk free trial that wasn't risk free at all. Where they completely lost me was where I asked about the 5 year pricing and they countered saying that they could do 3 year pricing but it would be more...duh! because it's an equipment lease and I tried to tell the salesperson that the whole time and she kept contradicting herself and that's when I knew she got some sort of commission for me signing that equipment lease and in fact their was no risk free trial no matter how many addendum emails they send me telling me otherwise. They try to show you this flow chart that to me basically shows that they are willing to spend all this time and resources setting us up (for free) and there's no obligation if we back out because it will not work for us? We are several states away and I could only find Yelp reviews from Texas which is where they are located. Something did not add up with that even when I received the 3 year "equipment lease" with lower pricing than the 5 year, although slightly higher because it would be paid off 2 years earlier than the first quote. Now I knew she was just throwing irrelevant numbers at me so I would sign and drag my company through a battle if I opted out of the equipment lease. I don't want to totally say that Spectrum VoIP service is terrible or anything like that, you can take other Yelpers word for it but what I will say about any hosted VoIP provider is that even 6 years ago with my current provider it was not as perfect as promised but since then it has been hassle free and I was not about to go back to the days of constantly calling and opening support tickets that are mostly due to poor call quality or dropped calls again. If you are currently using a hosted VoIP provider and you think they are charging too much but yet you aren't having issue after issue, don't chase the lower priced service because at the end of the day they all cost around the same price after you consider all the other factors. I also suspect that their Yelp reviews aren't all one or two stars because they have employees pretending to be customers leaving them. Anyone doubting this claim that left them a 5 star review, PM me so I can call you at work and hear how Spectrum VoIP sounds and then let's discuss all the pricing that I'm suspect about. read more

Doug came out right on time and helped us replace our old phones. He was very thorough and answered any questions we had. He also did our voice announcements for us and setup a VoIP fax as well as a fax to email gateway. The company I work for is in medical sales so he helped us out tremendously. read more

Unfortunately the review above has been our experience also. We constantly receive calls asking for other companies. I assume other companies are receiving calls about us. We get calls from customers saying they haven't been able to get in touch with us. At and T Technical says we are missing calls on regular business days. I am sitting now without phone service. Another technical problem. My business has been cut in half since we started two years ago. The technical support guys do the best they can. Waiting for the contract to end in 9 months. Beware if they say they will buy out your current contract! They don't mean it. They will pay a portion of it and leave you holding the bag for the rest. Spectrum VOIP marketed our company a few times, but it seemed I was always in the middle of my contract. Then a particular salesman convinced me to switch, said they were cheaper than our current provider and they would buy out our contract. I would never have agreed to switch providers if he had said it was only a partial buyout. Ended up costing us about $1,000 because we had just pre-paid for a year of service. When I complained, I was asked if I had a voice recording of the salesman who told me he would buy out our contract! And, of course, the salesman no longer works there. As for the service itself, the install guy was great. Took care of everything for us. We've had some issues with static, it was so bad I couldn't use my phone for 2 or 3 days, but it seems fine now. read more

We have been using SpectrumVoip since 2015. The experience has been, at best, frustrating. Recently, we called for technical support and a technician named Mitch grabbed our call. DANGER : You'd be better off with two paper cups and a piece of string . Equipment is extremely low quality YEALINK, and sold on an overinflated contractual long term lease payment. Your payments will outlast the equipment for sure. Google Yealink phone systems and you will see that they are extremely inexpensive. BOTTOM LINE ... There is little to no savings over conventional cable provided phone or standard telephone and internet bundled. ISSUES... We experienced several instances when our phones quit working altogether at 5 different locations and it took hours for them to resolve. Their tech support was also unable to resolve what they called "Ghost Calls". The so called "Ghost Calls" cause your phone systems to ring endlessly, but when you pick up there is no-one on the line so you hang up only to hear the phone ringing again, this scenario can go on for days. We were forced to activate call forwarding and reroute our calls to my personal cell phone and disconnect their phone to get any work done while the "Ghost Calls" occured. All of which has made us return to AT&T and Charter. MY 2 CENTS read more

By far the rudest person I've ever spoken to. I'm glad I thought to check here before proceeding. They contacted us about internet and phone and were just so unbelievably rude. I can't believe a company thinks it's okay to do business this way. Salesman kept complaining that he couldn't hear/understand us on the phone call, however our calls were crystal clear, even verified that with the existing provider. I guess that's their sales tactic. A guy named Gary calls from 817-477-2006 and shows up Medical Services company on Caller ID. Run, run, run away from this company. They could not install the phones. They had a contractor and not a regular employee install the phone. The next scheduled date to install, the installer never showed. He quit that day and they did not know it. Attempted to contact sales person and can't get in touch with him. spoke to another sales person, and he advised he would run it up to his supervisor to put me back where I was before they started their mess. Know before you commit to ANYTHING!!!! We have used various other voip services for years. Decided to try SpectrumVOIP (not to be confused with Spectrum Business), was told by the salesman that there was not a contract and we can terminate anytime. He then handed me a lease agreement with Marlin for phones (and this is where it is my fault, I trusted him when he said there was no penalty for terminating the lease, the type was small and I failed to read the agreement myself). Just about halfway through a 3 year lease, we moved our office to a location with no Ethernet drops (which are required for the phone system they chose for me) and I decided to switch providers, because hey, I have no contract and can do that...so I thought! I called in and while I could cancel the $15/month service, the lease had a NO termination for any reason clause and I am STILL paying on phones that I returned in February 2018 - so SpectrumVOIP/Marlin will continue to get my $103 every month until June 2019. Yes, I've called and email SpectrumVOIP multiple times. They have refused to do anything, even in light of our good pay history and location situation. I was told that absolutely no one can make even the slightest change, not even their President has power to do anything to help me - I'm fairly certain I heard snickering during that part of the conversation. So, while I understand they are doing everything "legally" because it was poorly disclosed, it is poor business practice to lie to customers and then refuse to make any accommodations. Even in porting over my number, the tech department for SpectrumVOIP gave me erroneous information and after a few weeks of trial and error, I had to do a conference call between the new provider and them to even attempt to get it resolved so I could have the new service. And before you ask, yes the new service is WAY better and more reliable than the VOIP service SpectrumVOIP provided, so it was worth it for me to switch from them anyway and not pay the approx. $600 SpectrumVOIP wanted to charge me to have them come put ethernet drops in my new location. Just know they are a headache going in and if you enjoy wasting hours of your precious time, please contact them, because they will gladly take your money for years to come. read more

The sale reps then lie so they can keep their jobs...which they are threaten with on a daily basis. Also, their customer service is the worst thing ever. been with them 2-3 months. although ok from a technical point of view and the phones seem to work well this is one of the most dysfunctional companies I've ever dealt with. My original account manager wouldn't return calls or emails, finally got switched to another one that does. I've had to argue to obtain agreements agree upon when I signed on on just about every count. Management agrees to something but billing doesn't know etc so issues get very confused. I don't believe there is any malicious intent, just a real lack of basic organization. Way too much confusion and aggravation. I do not recommend them. read more

We recently became a customer of your VoIP System. Since then we have been put through a nightmare. We have had your people in and out of our office encountering a million mistakes such as installation talking longer than it should have been, phones not working properly, the billing department is horrible, having your sales person telling us things that were not true such as saying FREE phones were included in our proposal and then signing us up for a contract where we are obligated to lease our phone equipment without our knowledge or consent. He also promised one phone bill and now we are stuck with two phone bills, Spectrum and Marlin. We have had several meetings after all this problems with your sales person Riley Morris and at every meeting he says something different. Luckily for us, we always have more than one person sitting with us at the meetings. We were tricked into signing a paper that was supposed to be a release consent form confirming we had received our phones and that the phones were installed and programmed correctly which was of course was not true. That paper was our lease with Marlin and like I mentioned before, now we are stuck with a $22,000.00 bill for our phone equipment when we were promised FREE phones. Now, after going through all this problems with Spectrum, we are told our 1-800 number, a number that has been in our company for 25 + years and is advertised on our website and all our ads, has not been ported and now because of this mistake we are losing business. We have written proof where we gave a list of our numbers that needed to be ported to Spectrum. We believe we have giving Spectrum adequate time to resolve this issue and correct the unethical mistakes and treatment from your sales representative and staff. Our next course of action is taking legal action against Spectrum and all parties involved. I encourage Spectrum to contact us within five business days to find a resolution before all parties get served. read more

I am sorry that I cannot recommend Spectrum Voip for phone services. I signed an agreement in the summer of 2014 to use Spectrum as my local and long distance provider for my private elementary school for three years. After a few weeks we began experiencing trouble with some of our phones going down for hours each day. The technical support staff was always helpful on the phone, but no matter what they did, the trouble persisted. At one point a Spectrum repairman said we needed another repeater which he never sent. After about five weeks of trouble, I spoke to Jake who said that the trouble was with the phones themselves and that he would be sending new phones within about two days. After waiting ten days and receiving no communication from Jake, I called him and also emailed that I no longer wanted to do business with Spectrum. The reasons for this include the fact that undependable phone service is a safety risk for our students and staff and a great inconvenience for the parents of our students. Additionally, I was losing the business of customers who called but could not get an answer. This had now become an unresolved issue for over five weeks. Spectrum also never informed AT&T that we were changing providers as they had promised. I was now stuck with using Spectrum's phone service for another ten weeks on some of my phones while my old providers jumped through the necessary hoops to reconnect me. During this time the service on some of my phones degenerated to the point that we could receive no phone calls at all! I was also stuck with the lease on the actual phones for three years. Spectrum picked the phones for me, bought the phones, and was paid by the leasing company for the phones, but refused to help me out of the lease. They profited from the phones and left me holding the bag. The total cost to me for phones I cannot use is over $5000 for the three year lease period. I am only writing this review after calling and/or emailing the Spectrum accounting department and CEO numerous times to try to resolve the financial dilemma caused by Spectrum's poor service. No one has returned my calls or emailed me with any solutions. The CEO has not responded. How rude! I then made a formal complaint to the Better Business Bureau. Spectrum responded with untrue information so the BBB did nothing to help me. If you do business with Spectum, you had better have deep pockets because you may lose a considerable amount of money as I did. You may also be totally dissatisfied with your phone service! read more

This is probably one of the worst customer service/IT experiences I have ever experienced. We signed up in Feb. and it took 3 months for us to get service. Afterward we had nothing but IT problems from calls being dropped, calls not transferring, not being able to answer calls from extensions, feature functions not working, etc. We emailed multiple managers to find out how to cancel services because clearly we cannot operate a business like this. We received no response and finally decided to return the equipment and cancel services. BUT, both Spectrum VOIP and Graybar are now telling us that we have non-cancellable contracts. I would not in any way suggest utilizing this company for any of your needs. 1) Spectrum VOIP is useless when it comes to customer service 2) You will be renting hardware (your phones) from Graybar for up to 5 years... and if you get crappy service both companies will expect you to pay them anyway. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! Go with Vonage or Ring Central instead. Much better customer service and pricing can be negotiated :-) read more

I have used Spectrum Voip for years and highly recommend it. I also recommend it to all my clients. Because it's a hosted voip system, it has all the features you could possibly want. I have my phone ring at my desk and on my mobile at the same time so I can grab it wherever it is most convenient. It's a great price as well. read more
