WARNING: Sneaky "Bill Cramming" Tactics under "Free" Promotions! I am writing this review to warn my neighbors to inspect every single line item on their monthly statements. Spectrum is engaging in deceptive billing practices, specifically a tactic known as "bill cramming"--adding paid services to your account without your permission. A few months ago, I called to set up Internet and TV services. The sales representative told me I qualified for a promotion for a "free mobile service line for one year." I accepted the free line. What they CONVENIENTLY failed to mention, and what I never authorized or gave permission for, was that the agent snuck a paid monthly "Mobile Insurance/Device Protection Plan" onto that supposedly free account. Because I was told the mobile plan was 100% free, I didn't notice the hidden, unauthorized insurance surcharge for six months. When I finally caught the charge and called customer service to voice my concerns, things got even worse. Even after escalating the call to a supervisor, Spectrum flat-out refused to issue a full refund for the charges their own agent fraudulently placed on my account. They would only credit back a single month. Essentially, they got caught adding unauthorized fees to my bill and told me I could only have a fraction of my money back. Since Spectrum refuses to take accountability for their deceptive trade practices, I have officially filed formal corporate billing complaints with the FCC and my State Attorney General. If you are signing up for their "free" promotions, check your bill immediately. They will sneak unapproved charges onto your bank draft and then hide behind their "corporate policy" to keep your money when they get caught. Absolute scam behavior. read more

Waited a very long time watching a service agent mess around on his computer and chat with a supervisor and not wait on people. When he finally waited on us, he was not at all helpful. We ended up walking out without upgrading the phone like we planned. read more

Waiting for service takes forever. There's never enough staffing at this location. I will never coming here again!

I lose connectivity several times a day. Several of my devices do not auto connect. So even if service is interrupted for a few seconds, I have to manually reconnect, password and all. This is especially a pain for my printer. My bills are ridiculously high and reliability is terrible. I have been to the store multiple times, and I only had a good experience once. There was one male employee who was not even working with me and kept making horrible remarks to the conversation I was having with a female employee. I don't know if he's still working there as this was a while ago, but he acted like this twice when I was in the store. read more

I waited 1-1/2 hours to speak to a customer service person only to have them tell me in 2 minutes time by looking at my cellphone that I needed an unlock code in order to proceed with transferring service. Why in the world didn't the "manager " who walked around during that time asking people what they were needing do the same thing. I'm almost ready to say forget it! Ur service is horrible! read more

I had to return one box because I downsized and I drove all the way to Wildwood Florida. They didn't tell me you can drop the box off at any UPS terrible customer service. read more

It's a monopoly. Either pay 200 a month for internet/ cable that keeps going out or move. Can't wait til satellite or fiber optic becomes a thing here in the sticks, Lake Panasoffkee.In fact, the internet just went out and it said "Encountered an error" while trying to post this review. And they just raised the prices again. Maybe "The Villages", not far from here, get much better service. read more

I wish I could give them zero stars this place is a nightmare they have two employees one lady was helping only one person on some big sale for over an hour and a half out of two employees half of them busy and useless..... so I have to wait an hour and a half just to return a piece of equipment basically I can't even cancel my account they say oh you have to call the 800 number..... then the idiot on the 800 number is trying to get me a better deal all of a sudden and then says I can't cancel it till we're closer to the end of the billing date..... and the same idiot tries to upsell me on getting more service and it's like these people are just out of their stupid minds a whole new world of idiots for technology and this company is obviously got in the way of sales with horrible service read more

Switched from AT&T for our mobile service as their rates have skyrocketed. Ruschell, the customer service rep, was very knowledgeable, efficient and polite. We also have Spectrum as our internet provider and cable television. Whenever I do have to contact their customer service department I am always greeted by a pleasant and helpful rep. read more

This company is a rip-off. Slow internet. Overpriced cable. Also. FYI They charge you a full month when you cancel. Poor customer service and severely overpriced. They tell you internet is $49.99 but bill you $74.99 it's slow and crappy. Hulu is buffered. $250 for cable and internet BUT they take channels away on the regular and then tell you that you must buy the " new" package at an upcharge to get the channel back. Cut the cord! Live stream is literally $150 to $200 less per month and every other company has better customer service. We paid $243 for 4 days of service to cancel it. Ask them. They admit they will screw you. And they don't tell you in peak hours... Literally the ENTIRE TIME YOU USE IT internet is very slow. I have them one star because zero is not an option. read more

Well.............In our opinion customer service is great and very available, you do not have to wait on line or listen to a frustrating automated voice as in Xfinity so thumbs up for customer/technical/local technicians support. Also good are the remotes that are voice activated. Station selection is also good. Pricing is good and why we changed. It stops there..........equipment outages Zumo are frequent and frustrating. It usually goes back on again after it has napped for a while but, usually goes out in the middle or end of a show. IF THEY GET GOOD EQUIPMENT OR CHANGE TO ANOTHER SYSTEM I would rate them 4.5 stars. read more

The Hispanic guy was really rude! They should teach customer service during their training

Apparently they did not like my first review and removed it on me twice on google reviews so here is is again. I have been a customer for about 5 years. When one day we receive a package in the mail from spectrum with someone else's name on the box. My husband was just being the better person and calls spectrum to inform them we received this box and it was sent to the wrong address. To only find out this person called up and said they were moving into my house and needs service turned on. At this point you would think spectrum would protect their loyal customers and at least try to contact them and see what is going on. They didn't do that at all, they put my service in for disconnect and activated her new account at my address. When we called we were told she has more rights because she was a new customer. I had to leave work early and go down to a spectrum office to prove who I am and the fact that I own my house. They had to get her permission to turn her service off but mine could be shut off at a drop of a hat without my permission. In the end her be service was shut off as well as mine which was not able to be reactivated due to mine being put up for disconnect. I could only put in new service which could not be put in my name again. My spouse put it in his name as my name has been corrupted. How is this even good business ethics? How can you treat your customers like this. You only care about new customers. read more

Extremely rude employees. When I went there to return equipment as advised by Spectrum Customer Service, they could have politely told me that UPS handles equipment returns instead of being rude. They should not be working with the public. read more

Yikes, Please Elon get Starlink going in our area!! Spectrum 4X charged me for service today. When I called to get the payment fixed, the automation told me I had to pay an additional $5 to speak to someone. Then I spoke to a manager (Dale) who impressed me as someone who could care less to listen to the issue let alone fix the issue. Spectrum is another example of why woke companies are losing customers down to 15.22 mil 4th qtr 2021 but customer service said they added 10 million last month, which is not likely. Overpriced and ridiculous customer service but the shareholders like the cost savings at the customer's expense. 23 minutes on hold to have rude and uncaring minimally skilled people support customers. Terrible customer service. Was on the phone for over 2 hours being transferred. Would not recommend this place of business to anyone.

We walked in around 630 pm on a Saturday (last night) and the 2 young ladies working there were nothing but great. Friendly and courteous, these women went out of their way to assist us from leaving my beloved T-Mobile (we moved to the 1% that they don't cover) and making us feel like a part of the Spectrum family. I had been at the Inverness location in the last few weeks to pick up cable boxes and the worker made me feel like a leper. I was hoping that experience was a one off. The 466a store did an amazing job adding 3 lines, 2 new phones, and a data transfer. They closed at 8pm and we wrapped up about 820 with them not batting an eye or feeling like they rushed us out. Professional yet personable, these 2 had the right balance for a spectacular customer experience. They set the bar that others should emulate. read more
