Good listener and I feel like I get good therapy. I had less success with others in the practice including Maria Merola, APRN. It's very important to have the right doctor. And I have to knock the practice down a star because they can be difficult to reach at times and you usually can't leave a message with the answering service. This has been frustrating at times. But Dr. Jean-Baptiste is excellent.

Dr. Michele Jean-Baptiste has been my Psychiartist for well over a decade. When he met me, I had…read morebeen misdiagnosed for many years, and I was extremely ill. Dr. JB, as I fondly call him, was the most thorough, empathetic, and trustworthy Psychiatrist I had ever met. He had a complete neurological work-up completed on me to rule out any physical causes of my symptoms. He spent a great deal of time with me, asking questions no one had asked before. Then, he met with my husband and I to share the results. He explained my diagnosis, and said it would be very difficult to determine which treatment plan would work, and that we'd have to make adjustments to that plan for the rest of my life. He promised that if I didn't give up on him, he wouldn't give up on me. And he meant it. All these years later, although I am now disabled, I live a much more stable life, because I've learned what I must do, and what I must avoid to stay as well as possible. Dr. JB partners with my Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) Therapist, and also works with my other specialists. He knows my needs. He has shown my family a great deal of support as well. I highly recommend him for anyone with a mental illness. If you are willing to work hard toward recovery, you will find he will work equally as hard to assist you in every way he possibly can.

This office made me access my records, fill out all kinds of forms, decided that I have bipolar disorder and I do not. They informed me that the cannot treat bipolar disorder. It is very difficult to get anyone to treat me because I have medicare/medicaid. I worked in the field of geriatrics for 50 years and had professional contacts with doctors from this practice who were unprofessional and rude. One treating assistant living residents actually said that doping them up would get "more milage" out of them. In other words, extend their occupancy. I suspect that by limiting their practice to "geriatrics they can admit patients who don't know any better. I bet that they are not referring patients with Alzheimers for Leqembi,a breakthrough treatment for Alzheimer's. at Yale.

They dropped her (no phone call or letter) when I called to schedule an appointment, I was told that doctor (Siegal) now refuses to see her. I asked to speak with the doctor directly but was denied. OK Cool. But the way I was spoken to by the "Office Manager" was totally uncalled for, she was rude, unempathetic (not a care in the world for the patient) and unprofessional. The office staff was never friendly, always unprofessional. PLEASE don't waste your (or a family member) valuable time at Geriatric and Adult Psychiatry.

**Turnbridge saved my daughter**…read more My daughter was at Turnbridge for just under two months. Before she went there she was beginning to head down the wrong path. So we decided this program was what she needed to get back on track. In the beginning it was very hard for her to adjust to being there. She kept calling and was crying and said she wants to come home and made promises to change. Myself and my family and her mother encouraged her to hang in there and to try and block out the negativity. She tried to manipulate and come up with statements that weren't necessarily true. She ended up getting a new counselor/clinician quickly and got to work with Alissa. It took her almost a month to get fully adjusted and accept that she needed to really work on what she said she originally went there for which was substance use and also mental health. We began to notice that as time went on she wasn't asking to come home anymore when she made her calls to us each night. Her mood slowly started to improve. She became invested in bettering herself and did the assignments that were asked of her. Both myself and her mom participated in family therapy sessions and we began to notice that she was starting to put the work in to better herself. In addition, she was also learning about herself and how she is around other people. We got word that the treatment team wanted to do neurological testing to get some answers on some behavioral concerns they observed. The results of the neurological testing were a game changer! They showed that my daughter has Autism, which looking back explained a lot about her behavior, but because she masked her symptoms and feelings we couldn't tell for sure. She was accepting of this diagnosis. And now we can figure out how to best support her going forward. My daughter graduated and successfully completed Turnbridge Residential in Woodbury, CT on 9/12/25. Words can't expressed how thankful my family and my ex (her mom) are that she went to Turnbridge. It was rough in the beginning, but she made it through. My parents and my ex (her mom) and their family noticed during the visits how much my daughter has grown and changed for the better. Parents realize that the key for success if they send their child there is for the individual to put the time and effort in and that will bring success. My daughter learned that a lot of the things she was saying about Turnbridge and what was going on were things she was building up in her own mind. Special special thanks and shoutouts go to Justin and Alissa!!! They were and are amazing and caring and wanted my daughter to succeed!!! They helped my daughter so much and gave her skills she can use in the future!!! Thanks to Chelsea for your support as well with everything! Thank you Dr. Minhas, Tammy Platt and Dr. Colwell!! Both Justin and Alissa expressed how proud they are of my daughter with how successful she was while in the program. I've been in the social work field for 24 years and have worked in residential programs in NJ. To parents who are wondering about whether to have your loved one go to Turnbridge for help, definitely give them consideration and a chance. My daughter is now happy and in a better place because of Turnbridge!
