My house was long overdue for new exterior paint, and there were definite signs of peeling paint…read moreand dry rot especially along the side and back of house. I used the Yelp app and met with 4 painters. One was booked until Nov, one declined the bid since he was paint only and limited carpentry, one gave a really high bid, and then there was Felix who we eventually chose. Felix was perhaps the most transparent in terms of work scope and he took the time to measure and estimate how much wood and siding would be needed. He also has teams of both carpenters and painters so he does dry rot repair and painting. They also use ladders with fall protection for the high places, as opposed to scaffolds which would of course add more cost. The whole job took 2 weeks - 4 days of prep, and 3 days of painting using mostly sprays and hand painting of siding. Very professional job and 5 stars: 1. Daily communications by text and updates 2. Thorough covering of windows and doors 3. Clean work area after each day 4. Extra credit for getting rid of loose wiring, the previous owner's dish, and fixing a broken gate 5. Honest and transparent pricing - we had a change order since during prep, more dry rot was found than at first glance. Highly recommend Felix for your exterior wood repair and painting needs.

Overall, I like the paint job Barbour did of the interior of my home. The price was unbeatable and…read morethey were very accommodating of our schedule; we were home for one week of the job, and away for the second as the ceilings had to be scraped. The colors are fresh and I love how they patched cracks and caulked things in. I give them 3 stars for a few reasons. The first being the mess. Our house was EXTREMELY dusty with gypsum when we arrived home at the end of the project, even in the insides of closets that hadn't even been painted. It took us days to wash and wipe everything down, and we were sneezing and itching the whole time and had to wear masks. I was told that everything would be cleaned with Simple Green, so it was very disconcerting that it clearly wasn't. Even now, weeks later, you can bump a baseboard and white dust will fall off/out. We have green overspray on our light colored stamped concrete walkway and the exterior siding of the house around it, texture on the tops of ceiling fans and light switches, and paint drips on our interior wooden floors, which had been covered. It seems like while we were home they were very meticulous, but while we were gone they felt free to be sloppy and disregard our property and belongings. Second, they removed a ceiling fan at my request, which I appreciated, but we came home to it broken, with paint all over it, and found it sitting in the pouring rain on the porch. Needless to say, we had to purchase a new ceiling fan and are very bummed that the old one is no longer usable. Third, I was not pleased that my request for a change order was ignored. The estimator, Rodger, was great. Friendly, accommodating and promised me the world. Once I signed the contract, though, I never heard from him again. I had sent him a change order in writing two days after I signed and never heard back. I figured he maybe would tell the crew what I wanted. I felt like I had to hound the project manager about things that weren't done "correctly" because nobody ever acknowledged the change order. I even told him what I wanted more than once, and offered to pay extra to ensure they got done. But in the end I just gave up on getting everything I wanted.

From the first call, David was responsive and easy to work with -- he scheduled us quickly and clearly explained what the job would involve. The work itself was excellent. You genuinely cannot tell there was ever a hole there -- the patch, texture, and paint match are flawless. David and his crew were professional, tidy, and clearly take real pride in their craft. What stood out most was how honest they were about pricing. No upselling, no surprise charges, no nickel-and-diming -- just fair, transparent pricing for quality work. In a world where so many transactions feel rushed and impersonal, it was refreshing to work with a small business owner who actually cares about doing the job right. We will absolutely be using Paintmasters for any painting or repair needs in the future, and I'd recommend them to anyone in the Concord area without hesitation. Thanks again, David -- great work!

This review is overdue, but Joe went above and beyond, so I'm going to get this done…read more His pricing was very reasonable among quotes I gathered. He was the most responsive from the initial contact and continued through the day of the job. This was a job to repatch my shower ceiling, which property management and their team's initial work left me with a lot of concerns. Joe was very thorough and called me to ask questions about the pictures I uploaded to better understand the situation and had suggested that I save my money since the "repair" was just done, but for the sake of peace of mind, I asked that he redo the work property management didn't do correctly. Joe was ready to go on the day of the job and arrive early, inspected the scope of work once more, and made one last attempt at having me save my money by holding off but I insisted on moving forward. He showed me the area he worked on (my area of concern) before closing it up. Before I knew it, he was done with the job and even took care of the painting for me that I spent several days overthinking how'd I shower if primed and painted it after I got off work instead. Job well done and I wouldn't hesitate to call him again if I needed work done.

He didn't use drop cloths under the baseboards before painting them, and so the paint streaks and splotches on the concrete slabs had to be sanded down by the installers before laying laminate, costing me more time and money.
