I have had my issues with spectrum over the years cost, reliability, customer service, and installation. I also had no choice because they were the only service that had strong enough internet for my family. AT&T got fiber network in my area and now I wanted to disconnect service this became an issue quickly and only got worse. I spent 30 minutes on the phone and still didn't get a disconnect. They want to keep going with trying to get me to stay. Including charging me for a month in advance because that's how they bill. I will never use them again, the company is going to find them self useless with more options for internet an tv available they become less and less necessary. YouTube TV gets rid of ESPN so we went over to Spectrum which I love so much more. because the channels I have my old channels back that I lost by switching over to YouTube TV. That being said, if you decide to take advantage at the Spectrum plan right now, which is really wonderful for "three years "you get hundreds of channels plus movie channels. We also put our phones on there. But make sure you ask about the buyout! I didn't and now I have to pay for our phones, were under contract (didn't know,with Verizon) If you switch over say I want the buyout of my contract! That's why I took away a star. They didn't ask me and I didn't know it,so now you know it make sure you say it. ;/ read more

In May, I spent over an hour on the phone getting a reduced rate in place for my 78 year old mother. When I reviewed her bills, they had never implemented the reduced rate. I reached out to customer service, they were unwilling to help. read more

Went into the Spectrum Store on Pleasantburg in Greenville to get some assistance on switching service to a new to us cell phone. Jody not only helped us with that switch but also helped us with some new promos concerning our home internet service. Recently called Spectrum to cancel service after 18 years as a customer, was trapped on the call 20 minutes, had to listen to 3 "mandatory" offers before they finally agreed to cancel service. Btw, called 2 days after monthly renewal, still had to pay for the full month even though Spectrum didn't provice service to me for 28 of those days. Most peope would call that theft. On the bottom of every $83 monthly bill I received from Spectrum they thanked me for being a valued customer since 2007, but they clearly don't mean it. Worst customer service I have ever experienced. Now that Charter/Spectrum has lost their monopoly on internet and video streaming, I think they will be out of business in 3 years or less with their atrocious customer service. Loyalty on my end no more! Many times I spoke to the store representatives to upgrade my account but it lead to mislead on billing; recently the phone operator didn't understand what was going on (mind you this was my fourth time talking to a phone rep). Now that was a cluster. We had unfriendly service from 2 different representatives at this location and both trashed talked phone customer service. We talked to 3 reps on the phone, who were friendly and helpful but we received the opposite behavior at this Spectrum store. We just want changes made to our account. I would not recommend this location for any reason. read more

I can see why Spectrum has so many customer service issues after my visit to this store. Only 2 actual workers plus one person holding the door open for those that were coming in & telling you how many people would be ahead of you. No rush to meet & service the customers. read more

Only reason they are getting 2 stars is for who I assume was the manager who was the only person that helped me. Initially when I came in, I put in my information to have to wait in the queue and it didn't work since that iPads cover prevents you from actually making a selection half the time so instead I just got yelled at "HEY YOU" so I turned around surprised asking if it was me they were talking to, now I had a huge box in my arms that had like 6 boxes/equipment and I put it down on the table with a smile and asked the lady how she was, no response (not surprised) and no eye contact (okay sure) I then get yelled at to put the box on the other side of the counter on the floor, I then tell her I'm turning in this equipment and she doesn't even look at it or my invoice saying it's all paid off/canceled and says "oh I can't do that since it's for a business, here's a card for you to call" and basically throws it at my elderly coworker I'm with. We go outside back to the car and call this man and he says they infact CAN take them there but he can't help us anymore even though we tell him it's a closed account but only he gave us customers services number, now (FINALLY someone LOOKS AT OUR ACCOUNT NUMBER) (granted at the store they couldve done the same and or even scanned the devices like they did in the end...) this kind man in customer support runs our account code and confirms our account was indeed closed the 2nd almost 2 weeks from the day we came in... so that's when we go back in mind you 45 minutes later at this point and the first rude lady is gone( i guess ran away to lunch) and we flag down the manager (I would assume) and tell her our situation and she finally gets us our receipt (hand written for some reason) and we are on our way after AN HOUR when it was as simple as just looking at the invoice we had. Day after Christmas, biggest return day and there's only 2 agents out of 6 agent stations and the place is slap full of customers!! I will sum up my experience with Spectrum. Disceptive, dishonist, unethical business practices, poor customer service and numerous outages for hours at a time. We had ATT installed when we moved in, and loved the functionality and service. It was getting expensive, and when a Spectrum salesperson came to the door saying we can save you $150 per month for cable, phone and internet, my wife. Said let's try it. Never have been more disappointed with this decision. I work from my home office, and multiple times when I had a customer Zoom or Teams meeting scheduled, Spectrum service would go down. My only communication was my cell which is on an ATT plan. No landline, cable TV or internet. A number of households in our neighborhood that had Spectrum have switched to ATT or Hulu or Firestick due to the steep rise in cost. Our monthly bill nearly doubled in the 3-4 years with Spectrum, going from around $150 to $278 per month. We called several times and were told they can't do anything. Frustrated, we turned back to ATT last week and had a pleasant experience 1 GB fiber, no dish, and 1000 channels. Now I have been trying to give back the Spectrum equipment for the past week, but the stores are not staffed properly and it appeared to be an hour wait at least. The kicker for me is they told my wife we needed to pay the full $278 for the month even though we canceled 2 days into the new billing cycle. This one is not over. They say "no contract" and we do not prorate. So unless I can change this, doubtful, we will pay nearly $300 for 2 days of subpar services. We have been a subscriber for many years. we recently wanted to drop cablr but keep internet and landline. I called they said you can not do this on line, you must call. The department is called RETENTION, we knew we were going to have a long difficult time cancelling. After a 45 minute wait AJ (male) got on the line and immediately the bulling started. I told him I was not interested in discussing why I should not cancel, there were no reason we could remain with that service. I asked to cancel, his response you must listen to and answer the questions or you need to call again because I will not cancel your Cable service. inally, my husband spoke to him forcefully . We still have Internet and Land line but after the siutation we are looking for a new provider after 13 years. read more

I recently needed to return my cable modem after having disconnected my service with Spectrum and had to wait in line for entirely too long. It was clear that the two (2) employees working in the store had no sense of urgency whatsoever, which was frustrating to say the least. Once I finally made it to one of the associates to return my equipment, a third employee emerges from somewhere and begins to discuss with the employee working on my return about how (presumably another Spectrum) "Trey" got the manager's position at the Simpsonville store. Both individuals continued to talk about this topic and how they felt it was wrong that they hadn't been notified that the position was open, all with me within earshot. I have a feeling that "Trey" wouldn't discuss such things in front of (now previous) customers and maybe that's why "Trey" got the manager's position at the Simpsonville location and neither of those employees were in the running. read more
