Apparently, if you make an appointment online you jump to the front of the line when you get to the store, passing 18 people who were there earlier. Spectrum is something of a scam. Nothing is straightforward. All the"plans" and "promotions" are deliberately convoluted and hard to understand. You cannot make any changes online, you have to go through jokey, uninformed, fake-jovial young sales guys, who are trying to eke out commisions, not actually help the customer. Possibly the worst customer service experience I've ever had. The first installer eventually got everything connected--but then left my gate partially open, which led to my dog getting out. A few days later, someone came to bury the lines. They were supposed to come while I was home, but showed up unannounced. They buried the lines directly through my septic drain field, which had clearly been worked on recently and should have been obvious to avoid. On top of that, they managed to cut off my internet during the process. I did have one helpful phone rep, and the same tech returned to fix the internet issue. He said he'd come back the next day to rebury the lines--at which point I realized the septic field had been disturbed. I called first thing the next morning and explicitly requested that no one come back without me being present so I could direct them properly. They ignored that request and sent someone out anyway, again while I was gone. They were also scheduled to return today between 7-8 p.m. It's 5 p.m. and they've already been here. This has been a complete disregard of basic communication, property care, and customer instructions. It will not take much for me to cancel this service entirely. read more

Andrew came out and within a very short time hooked up a new line and went through every device to make they were working. This complaint is for Charter Spectrum period and not this location. However; I do have a complaint with the one located at 1511 S. Batesville Road, Greer, SC. I could not pull up this location on yelp. I reached out to supervisor, Ryan Hall for help to see if there was anyway to expedite the work order for my internet service as I work from home. He said to give him a few hours to see if he could expedite the work order. I never heard back from him like he said I would and I cannot reach him now. I have been without internet service since September 12th and they are telling me that September 20th is the earliest possible date to repair. I AM MISSING WORK and they do not care! There has been no urgency whatsoever to expedite the service ticket. I have called at least 15 times since my service went out. Please do not waste your time going with Charter Spectrum. Go with a more reliable company. I am in the process of switching now. read more

I've never seen such a display of inefficiency inside a place who serves the public. People complain about the DMV, but they are speedy compared to the service I received today. I arrived at the Woodruff Rd. location at about 4:15 on a Thursday afternoon. I waited an hour and 45 minutes before my name was called. The transaction itself took about five minutes. What really bothered me was that during that entire time the largest number of employees actually serving customers was 3. At times only 2. And a few times only 1 employee was serving customers. The entire time I was in the store there were no less than a dozen customers waiting to be served. Many customers simply left. When names were called out as to who was next in line, about one-third of the names called were people who had already left. In the future, I will avoid this place at all costs. read more

The service is terrible and overpriced. The internet/wifi goes out constantly, and you are never credited for when it is out. I could not cancel ahead of my cycle date due to Hurricane Helene knocking out cell service. I was finally able to cancel after getting cell service but apparently that still requires a full month of payment for services I am not using. I cancelled on the 8th day of my 30 day billing cycle. I cancelled on Oct 10 and they are charging for the entire month. It's predatory and unreasonable. I have never had a service not even prorate. They are not forthcoming with that information at all and not in line with industry standards. I have used AT&T, Verizon, and Xfinity and never experienced that. The initial representative I spoke to did not let me know about that at all. He then even tried to sell me more Spectrum plans after I expressed I was cancelling for poor service after moving. The representative I just spoke to was unhelpful. The statement dates are also inaccurate. Even when you call and get the robot, it is a pain to get to a person and they won't let you say "cancel" or "cancel service". You have to keep saying "I am calling about something else" and finally "speak to a representative". Also now seeing the referred to policy, be aware they consider this a subscription, not a service. Even the customer representative was not helpful finding that. They just sent the entire list of policies. That is why they feel justified to charge for the entire month when their service is spotty and even if you cancel mid payment cycle. They don't even have service up in most of our area yet so I feel for the others who utilize their subscription. I would never use them again for service on the principle that they provide poor service, lack of transparency, and predatory policies. I think government regulators need to step in. There is a reason they currently have a 1.09/5 from 3,447 customer reviews on the BBB (make that 3,448). read more

I tried to record two shows last night and it told me there was a conflict and I had to pick one. This service is costing more than TWICE what I was paying for DISH network. I had to return my equipment when I went to move to a new house and I had to take it in person to the store. It was not super busy for a Monday afternoon, but several people were ahead of me in line. The staff came up and greeted me and asked what I needed and helped me get checked in. I waited for about 30ish minutes (about 6-7 people ahead of me) and then the actual process to return my equipment and close my account took about 20 minutes. The staff member who helped me (I can't remember her name unfortunately) was very helpful and answered all of my questions. Overall, not a bad experience considering I had to go in person. Hopefully, my appointment to get my new equipment set up will be as smooth as this trip was. I would recommend Spectrum to my friends based on my experience with them so far. read more

Signed up for the $49.99 per month plan for 12 months in September 2023. Learned my bill would be increased by $2 per month starting in February 2024. Heard Lots of excuses and that new customers would still pay $49.99 per month, only because their discounts would be increased by $2 per month (from $35 to $37 per month) but this still meant I would need to pay more. This is a company I wouldn't trust to keep their commitments or pricing contracts. Buyer beware! read more

I called because I wanted my bill credited from the outage from the hurricane. I was without internet service from 9/27-10/28/2024. I was without internet service for 32 days. They only gave me a credit of $25.62. When I called to request the rest of the credit, the supervisor Ryan said that I would only receive credit for 22 days. Somehow they don't feel they need to reimburse for services not rendered. Somehow the fact that I was without power for 9 days (the power company didn't charge for the time I had no power) Spectrum feels I should have to pay for a service they did not provide during those nine days. When I told them that I was unhappy with that they told me take it or leave it. If I disconnect the service they will not credit the account for anything and will turn me over to collections if I refuse to pay the bill!! Asking for a full month's reimbursement does not seem to be unreasonable. Threatening to turn me over to collections, is not only rude, unreasonable and definitely not customer friendly. 1. I have had this cable service a little over a year. Let me tell you it is one of my biggest regrets. To start off they sent to me all the equipment to install the service myself (They advertised free installation). Needless to say nothing worked to get the service running. I was on the phone with some one who obviously was way over head. She just kept reading something like the size of a paragraph over. I explained to her had already done all the trouble shooting suggested on their website. She passed on to another person, that person passed me off to another, did for almost 2 hours. Finally I said, send someone before the end of day or they come pick up the equipment and cancel my subscription. The tech that came said it was the outside lines were completely shot. 2. Internet equipment has be exchanged every few months because it stops working, the modem has been changed about 3 times, the router, I lost count after 4 times. Since week1 of installing the service the internet is out regularly about 2 times a week. We haven't missed a week and and it stays of for a few hours. I'm a self employed person and I count on having the internet service 24-7. I have never been sent a refund for all the down time without service not working, but yet every time you open the Spectrum app, they want us to sign up for autopay. What a joke this company is. AS OF TODAY I'M ACTIVELY LOOKING TO BUY INTERNET SERVICE FROM SOMEONE ELSE!!! I gave this service a one star because this app wouldn't let me post without. The reality is that they are one big ZERO. I'm new to Spectrum and had to return some unopened Items (DVRs). The "greeter" was not at all personable or welcoming. In fact she refused to accept my returned items unless I wore their mask regardless of any medical conditions. After I complied, the person that actually took care of my return was nice and professional. The "greeter" is the first person a customer interacts with and although it's for a short period of time, for that time, the face of Spectrum. I hope they do a better job of training folks in this position in the future. It makes for an uncomfortable visit, and certainly one I'll try to avoid in the future. As for Spectrum as a whole, you all need to catch up with the latest CDC guidance and the fact that many retailers (Costco, Walmart, Target, etc...), all of which serve many more customers per day than you, have eliminated mask mandates for vaccinated people. read more
