Sleaziest place ever. They'll try to rope you into a phone deal as they desperately want cell service customers. You'll find out the trade-in isn't good, you'll then be locked into paying full price for an overpriced cell phone with a several year obligation and crummy service. Ryan was very helpful and knowledgeable in getting me set up for home internet. The self-install instructions were clear. Ryan was especially careful that I understood all of the charges so there would be no hidden charges or other surprises. The only hassle was that the 1-Gig router was not in stock at this store, and I had to make a trip to the QCM spectrum location. Ryan made sure that I had an appointment there so that I could easily pick up the needed router, and thus get up and running with my internet the same night. All in all a very satisfying experience, to walk in, sign up for internet, take home the equipment, self install, and have internet within the same day, and on a Sunday no less. read more

What a bunch of incompetent people - both at this store and on their customer service line. After recently moving, I needed my services transferred. I called Spectrum and therein began the chaos. The first customer service agent decided to cancel my service instead of transfer it so I had to call twice to fix the issue! What a waste of time. After such incompetence on the phone, I made sure to ask them if the equipment I need will be at any Spectrum - they said yes yes yes of course yes goodbye. (I felt the need to verify because I am part of a Bulk Package so the equipment is different). Lo and behold when I get to the Forest Hills Spectrum - they don't have it! But it takes 25 minutes to get this information out of the customer service agents at the location because even though I had an appointment and arrived first, they decided that helping a Spectrum Mobile customer who strolled in 10 minutes after me was more important. The lady who works here seems to know nothing about the phone or internet/cable systems. After telling me that they don't have the equipment, these people could not get me out of the location faster - again yes, yes, yes another location will have it. Which location? Queens Center. Well surely that place is really busy, can you check the system for me? No no no not busy tonight, there will be no people. And lo and behold, I arrive at Queens Center Mall to find that I will be 22nd in line to exchange the equipment. After dealing with 3 people on the phone, 2 incompetent people at the Forest Hills location, I'm now waiting for over 30 minutes at the mall to be seen. What should have been a simple errand has morphed into a 2 hour ordeal. But I guess that's on me for expecting Spectrum to make anything sThank you Spectrum and your many lazy incompetent employees. read more

Sadly I was a Time Warner/Spectrum customer for roughly 21 years. I finally had enough of their crappy customer service and poor and expensive internet speeds. We had the 400mbps for $79.99 for 12 month promotion. After those 12 months, it went up to $95. Before we selected this 400mbps plan, our old speed was even less and they charged more! Well over $100 for just internet prior to our 400mbps plan. The download speed clocked out around 180mbps. We previously had their home phone and cable tv services and they were all awful. Frequent disruptions and the on demand channels for HBO often didn't work. This week, I returned my spectrum modem and cancelled my services at this Austin St location. The rep was a jerk from start to finish. I asked if a tech could come and remove the mess of cables they made surrounding my house. The rep said no. I called spectrum later that day and the rep had dispatch schedule a tech to my house the next morning. Next day comes, tech arrives on time but refuses to do the work. He calls his supervisor saying they are not suppose to do this and begins sending his supervisor pictures of the cables that run along the exterior of my house to the back end of my garage and to the connection poles. The tech said I have to do that myself. I told him if I do it, fall off the ladder or get electrocuted, it's on spectrum right? His supervisor calls my phone immediately and ask what exactly I want removed? I said just the exterior cables, it's a hot mess, cables are dangling everywhere on my property. He finally told his tech to remove it. Verdict - forget spectrum, you're better off with Verizon... higher legit internet speeds at a lower cost. Order fios online and they'll waive the installation fees. I am so glad that we no longer have spectrum. read more
