The two ladies running the office and fitting the glasses were both very nice and professional. Everything was super quick and convenient. Plus they had a nice selection of glasses. I am glad that I switched to this office from one of the bigger ones where I had to wait eons and deal with some rude ladies to just get a pair of reading glasses. I am happy that small offices like this exist where you can be seen close to your appointment time because they haven't overbooked and everyone is nice and getting your eyes checked isn't some dreaded chore any longer.

Strauss has a small, quaint office. He is seemingly quiet at first(but quite witty once you get to know him). I wasn't sure what to expect, but I was blown away by how comprehensive his examination was. He has strong diagnostic skills and he also got me in the most comfortable lenses I've ever worn. I referred my whole family and several friends, and everyone agrees, they're sticking with Strauss.

I drove from Maryland for my appointment that was scheduled for December 5, 2025 Jennifer at the Lantana Square could not find my appointment although she was very helpful. I did purchase new frames for the glasses that I have broken. I drove to the Concord Pike site to discuss the issue with the gentleman. He stood there near the back never check to see if I made the appointment as only comment to me was and., when I stated to him again that he made an appointment and no one can find it again and he stated and. And then seen it. What do you want me to do? I don't remember it. He never attempted to check the appointment scheduled to see what was going on. He stood there like I was a criminal and I did something wrong. I returned home to Maryland the next day and locate my card that he wrote the schedule on the appointment was scheduled for Friday, December 5, 2025 at 10 am with Dr Ammon. It was for my yearly eye exam. I would hate to assume the reason he did not help me, but his message was very clear to me. I think his actions were very unprofessional and certainly disrespectful to me. Needless to say I've been coming to. I works for some time, but I was able to get an appointment the same day at SIMON EYE up the street. I've called the Lantana Drive location to have someone call me to discuss. I've yet to hear from anyone. I know this is not the way they treat their customer because Jennifer at the Lantana Drive was more than helpful. The gentleman at the concord Pike. Within 10 Minutes she pointed out the problem, size of the lens and the position of the prescription alignment the other shop had used. They have taken responsibility for the doctor error, but zero empathy towards the customer that had to go back to get her eyes re-checked, cannot see properly for more than three weeks. They keep sending me reminders that own something that represents less than 20% of the total value paid for all the glasses not received yet. But does not hold themselves accountable for me not being able to see properly for the last three weeks.

The women that I spoke with were rude and uncaring - very different from the previous office staff. Additionally, they don't run a cancellation list. Dr Steinbach is a fine optometrist, but certainly not worth waiting five months for a regular eye exam. As a long time customer, I find the changes in staff, process and service here disheartening. Costco agreed to remake the glasses and I tried again. I ended up going back to Dr. Bumsted's office because I thought my prescription was wrong, he checked the glasses against the script and then rechecked my eyes. All were good. He suggested that the term 'progressive trifocals' was as informative as saying 'I had fruit for lunch' (i.e. lots of different kinds) I ordered a pair from Dr. Bumsted. Yes it was 4X the price. But I put them on and I could see immediately - super close & far away - No 'get used to them time' - zero. I would add that the doc is very detailed & methodical and maybe quite introverted that may come off as unfriendly. However, he is kind and friendly, just not in a 'in your face' kind of way.
