The towing wasn't a bad price either (for the flatbed). Highly recommend if you need a quick tow. There are days that just don't turn out like you expect. Having your car break down is always a low point. Having your installation vehicle break down when you have to get to a job is lower than low. Not only do you have to call your client, your mechanic, your employees, and scramble to not let your client down, but you have to find a good tow truck driver that will charge you a fair fee when you are already at a disadvantage. They know you are on the side of the road and desperate. They could totally take you for a lot of cash and make your day even worse.... Let me tell you what Shan at Specialty Towing did: he made an unfortunate incident not quite as bad. He told me he had two jobs in front of mine. He said he would try to meet me around 10:00, but he would call me to let me know for sure. Shan ended up meeting me around 11:00, but I know he busted his rear to get there - especially since he said he was in Mid town when I first called. Shan loaded up my van in Rocklin, took it to my work so that we could unload it first, and then he drove it to our mechanics place in Cameron Park! Without using expletives, (although it would be appropriate) Shan absolutely rocks!! He was so accommodating and great to work with. I will NEVER call a different towing company and he has a customer for life. If you wonder if you will get everyone's typical visual of a tow truck driver that is a big, fat, grease stained, cigar smoking, stinking of stale beer driver - you won't! Shan owns this company and he takes pride in everything; your car, his magnificent flat-bed tow vehicle, and in his awesome attitude at trying to be sincerely helpful! This guy is the best tow guy in Sacramento and it's not close. You feel me on this... You call a dozen towing companies and half seem slimy and just toss out numbers based on their interest to get off their couch. Some tell you a ETA then cancel don't show up or show up 2-3 hours after (happened to us before) without any contact. Or you get those who can't speak English and treat you like it's your fault and you spend 10 minutes on a 25 second normal conversation. Then obviously you get the rude and curt ones that are dime a dozen but not this guy. This guy was responsive, friendly and ETA was only 10 mins off but was in constant contact via text. I won't go into detail since I don't want others to take advantage or think he'll do certain things for everyone but he helped me out in a really embarrassing situation and made it 100% right. He gave me advice, treated my car like it was his so after helping me out I had to give this man a review. Overall, put this man on your speed dial. Honest hardworking local guys need your business. BUT BE REALISTIC FOLKS!!!! Called for a quote since I had such good luck in the past with Shan's service. Not so this time. Not even a courtesy return call.

Shan and Specialty Towing originally helped me with an RV I purchased. The RV turned out to be a total nightmare and by the time I called Shan, I had already plunked in lots of time, money and energy into the RV; needless-to-say, I was in a bind. Shan was willing to help me when others weren't. That is the reason he is receiving one star. When Shan towed the RV, he did not provide a receipt. I let him know that I would need one because I was going to end up in Small Claims court over this RV. He told me he would give me one when he returned to pick up the hooks that he used to tow the RV and that were now stuck, wedged under the RV (Shan was unable to remove them after the move). A couple of months have passed, along with several requests for the receipt. I am still without the receipt and my court date is rapidly approaching. I included the cost of the tow in the amount that I am seeking to be reimbursed; without the receipt, I have no proof and will not be able to claim that amount. I reached out to Shan today, again asking for a receipt. I receive a reply stating that Shan will be out of town for 3 weeks and he call when he returns. I explained that I had an upcoming court date and would need the receipt prior to Shan's return. I asked if they could contact Shan and get a copy of the receipt for me. The person on the other end sent the following reply: 'Sorry to hear that but I only his phone with me he's not answering phone calls. For any reason he call I will let him know about your issue. Thanks.' If that is the case, what a horrible way to do business. Perhaps there was an emergency or something that required his attention but to leave with no possible way what so ever for the person that is covering for you to reach you...hmmm...seems shady to me. Making it even worse is that I've asked for this receipt MANY times prior to this. It's not like I waited until the last minute. So here I sit, multiple months later, multiple requests for the receipt...with no receipt and a response that basically said "whatever, sorry, not sorry, we don't care about your business"... Made an appointment to get my Porsche 928 towed to the Garage after a no start problem. It sits really low to the ground so was concerned about my front spoiler being ripped off as had occurred on a previous tow from a different towing company. He was prompt and on-time for the appointment. Took his time to assess what he had and to hook it up. Then slowly was able to get it on the back of his truck with no issues. Would definitely use him again if I needed another tow (let's hope not). Will keep his card in my glove box and phone just to be safe. Quite possibly the nicest owner-operated businessman I've met. I was stuck in south sac after my jeep died and I googled a towing company. Shan's was the first to pop up. I chose him because he was in south sac and because he offers $30 towing. Of course, that's the base price. It was Sunday at six o'clock when I called Shan. From Florin to Midtown, he charged us $80. I had the great fortune to stumble across Specialty Towing's web page when I found myself in a pinch and had to get my Z06 Corvette towed. From the minute I called Shan and he didn't answer, but replied via text to apologize for that fact I knew I had found someone who understood customer service. We texted back and forth for a bit and he was prompt, professional and very reasonable. He was able to accommodate my schedule and unique vehicle requirements (my car is lowered, has a carbon fiber front splitter, and was inoperative at the time of the tow). Yep. The legends are true. Shan is the best tow man you could ask for. Just yesterday our car broke down on our way to South Lake Tahoe from Santa Rosa. Long story short, we were in a CLUSTER of a situation. We got a free (emergency tow) off the freeway, where Shan-The-Most-Awesome-Tow-Man was willing to meet us (after we'd already called a couple of times and told him we'd be elsewhere), then he was willing to wait while a friend drove across town through traffic to pick us up (which took quite a while), and THEN followed/drove us all the way BACK to the other side of town. As someone who is completely over the top and babies my car you can only imagine how picky I am with anyone who has to work with/on my car, however my mind was made up pretty quickly when I came across Specialty Towing and they're great reviews. I called Shan the Tuesday after Memorial Day and as you would expect he was slammed with calls, I asked how long it would take to get to me and he originally said he was really busy and would take the better half of 2 hours but he then said he would give me a call back shortly to see if there was anything he could do. Within 5 minutes he had called me back asking for my address and said he could be to me in 10-15 minutes. Before I start I have to say I was very comfortiable being that I'm a stay at home mom with three girls and Shan was very respectful! First:Shan pulled up right away and was very friendly and outgoing! Second: Shan hooked my husbands car up and brought it onto the tow truck even though our car is not a hot rod or a newer car he was so gentle to asure there was no scratches on the vehicle! Third: Shan explained to me that he straps around the wheels to make sure the car is brought to its destination in the way it was recived so there is no way to get a scratch! I called Specialty Towing at 530pm on hwy 99 after being rear ended by another car. The owner (Shan) was very frank and told me that because of traffic his eta wouldn't be as expected. Even with bad traffic Shan showed up within 45min and loaded my lowered S2000 up with ease (my car is very low). I called Shan a few weeks ago, needing a tow from Sacramento to Davis. He told me it would be about $150. I was fine with the price, as I was in quite a pickle. When Shan arrived, he asked what was wrong with my car. When I told him the problem, he told me that he might be able to fix the problem enough that he doesn't have to tow me and I wouldn't have to pay the $150.
