Adj: Atrocious and Awful! Really not sure how this place could have 4.1 stars on avg. But on a cold January winter day, one of our couple of weeks new tires lost air gradually and we had a flat. Thankfully, we were not on the freeway when this happened, but were on a residential street. Unfortunately, we were not within walking distance to our home or even close to our neighborhood. Nevertheless, we were so glad that it was a sunny and kind of warm day after quite a few rainy and stormy days, so at least we didn't have to wait in the wet and cold outside. I called my insurance company who sent Loyal. After over an hour, I was like, they said they'd be here in 45m, so I called our insurance back, only to find out that Loyal canceled on us w/o notifying us and our insurance co barely just found out and so they just rerouted the service order to another towing company! I was not a happy camper. Yours truly waited on the side of the road for most of this time by myself in order that a Good Samaritan, living in the house right where our car started losing air quick (thanks to my hubby for noticing, I'm not sure I myself would've noticed until it was really flat) could take my husband and my kids to my in-laws kind of nearby and borrow their (hardly driven) car (they are too elderly to drive to us for those wondering) to take the kids home and come back for me. Again, it was really a blessed day to have a flat b/c it actually was so sunny it got kind of warm, but after 2+ hours wait, the sun was starting to go down... Time is money so wasting my time = terrible value! Come to find out, Loyal is NOT even a local company, I know it shows they have a local address and number, but our insurance company directed me to a San Diego number when I asked for Loyal Towing's number to call myself and complain. I'm not sure that would do anything, but in any case, the only contact number we ever got was to a San Diego number where the central call center for Loyal is located. Lesson learned that if we ever need roadside assistance again and my car insurance sends Loyal, I'll immediately ask to have a different company sent. Thanks to all other Yelpers reviewing Loyal Towing who've also experienced terrible service (or disservice and no-service in my case), so others will know to avoid them like the Plague they are!!! read more

Terrible, they let us wait 2-2.5 hrs or so before they CALLED the tow, we only discovered when we called in to our insurance to check why it was taking so long for a tow due to a flat tire. [[HIGHLIGHT]]We had no idea and were not notified at all.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] In fact, Loyal had given us an approx arrival time and we waited closer to another hour before we finally called our insurance emergency line only to find out Loyal isn't coming at all and another company was just asked to pick up where Loyal left us hanging. Never trust Loyal and if you hear that's the company being sent by your emergency roadside service company or insurance company, definitely say no thanks and ask for a different company! Make sure it's a truly local one. Loyal is headquartered in San Diego with locations throughout the state so their system is unreliable. I needed a jump (I thought) this past weekend, and got connected with Loyal through AAA. They showed up quickly (within 15 minutes), and when the jump did not work, they were stocked with a veritable plethora of batteries (not often you get to use that), including the one we needed. The serpentine belt on my car broke about 7 miles from home at 10pm on a Saturday night. I had an unfortunate incident when a person threw a glass bottle through my winsheild when I was driving at a high rate of speed. I was unharmed but my winsheild had a hole the size of a softball in it and I was stranded about 1 hour from my destination. I called AAA because my lights had been left on and my battery was dead. They came in a big truck filled with batteries. The agent opened my hood and told me that my battery was dead and had to be replaced. I asked him how he knew that just by looking at the battery. He replied that he was familiar with that brand and that it was junk. (It was a Walmart top-of-the-line battery less than a year old.) At my request, he then "connected" my battery with a box he took off his truck. He then said that my battery was so dead that the jumper box couldn't start it and it was powerful enough to start heavy diesel trucks. This didn't seem right to me but I had to get to a meeting and was desperate. I paid $222.83 for a 3-year battery. I then took the old battery back to Walmart. Multiple witness to the incident and yet Loyal towing requires me to take pictures of the damage and send it to them for "evaluation". I called my insurance company for ERS assistance for a flat tire. Luckily I was at home and was able to wait the eta of one hour. Not only did they not show up on time, the guy who came couldn't take one of my lug nuts off and stripped it. My brand new Hyundai Ioniq had a dead battery and we called Hyundai Road assistance. Fortunately they send AAA related Loyal Towing and it's representative Kyle Peterson. Kyle was fantastic! Not only jumped the battery but provided my wife and I detailed instructions on how to prevent the battery discharge from happening again as we should use a battery Trickle device on vacation on not using the vehicle. Battery wouldn't start in the cold. AAA sent Kyle from Loyal Towing. He came in the time estimated, recharged my old battery, showed me its stats, and thoroughly explained my options. He went above & beyond, cheerfully explaining how to best maintain the battery (given modern auto-electronic drains on batteries). Staff is unhelpful and refused to replace a dead car battery. Overall difficult to work with and did everything possible to make things difficult through the AAA process. My GMC pickup with a 350 V8 oil filter came off Thursday April 13 about noon as Oil Changers in Oroville had installed the Incorrect Oil Filter (they installed one for a Geo Metro) it turns the last 2 times I took my truck in for an Oil Change. This time I was on my way to a 40 year reunion with some old 76 Refinery Co Workers as we were to meet up in Suisun. The filter came off on the medium traffic on Hwy 80 Westbound. Fortunately it did not cause an accident. The Loyal driver Aleksey helped take some of the Frustration off of the event. Subaru Roadside Assistance sent out Loyal Towing last week when my 2017 Subaru Legacy would not start. ( Not a review for Subaru but I am a fan despite the issues I've had with this one) The driver, Casey, arrived on time as promised and even called me prior to his arrival to give me a heads up. That was super helpful as I was home with 2 "not so little ones" and sick. He was able to get it started and gave me options as to what we could do next. Since my car is under warranty I elected to have it taken to the dealer. It's was very considerate of him to ask me since I may have been paying out of pocket and just days after Christmas. Very disappointed with Loyal towing. Contacted and talked with the manger name Rose. She agreed to tow my car in 3 days with a specified driver. This is a high end car. When I called her on the day we agreed on she acted like we had not made any plans. I had delayed any other plans to have the car towed because I was relying on Rose's word. I also learned from AAA they have a reputation of taking the tow request then not showing up for hours after the call. Do not trust what they say. read more

Then they pushed my pickup time another 30 minutes. After that 30 minutes they cancelled and I got put in a que for another tow truck company where I had to wait another hour. I was sent to this company by GEICO when my F250 died halfway in an intersection blocking lanes. The rep told my wife that if she kept calling to ask for an eta, he would push our time further out for a tow. Mind you we've been sitting for over an hour on the side of the freeway. These people were shady as hell. A woman on the phone claimed she was just a "dispatcher" when we called because the very small man was sent to pull our car out of a ditch from our car accident. We waited 1 hour for the car to eventually be brought back to the tow yard .04 mile away. We called and made our insurance claim. Our insurance told us to gather our belongings out of the car before leaving it. Back to the "dispatcher". She claimed Loyal Towing was closed and we would be charged $117.50 to come on the property to gather our belongings because no one was there. We said we were not going to pay something so ridiculous and we're driving back to our car where the struggling employee just could NOT get the car on the tow truck. Suddenly she opens the gate and tells us she would back down on the "fee". So she lied she WAS on the property! There was another employee who was working in the garage. She previously told us no one was there to go out and help the struggling employee who could NOT get the car on the truck. He finally showed up and we got our valuables and left. She even knew my bro had been in a terrible car accident. Never use "Loyal Towing". Shady. They made the day of a terrible car accident equally worse by how we were treated. read more
